Ballard star Courtney Taylor shares her excited response to the series being well-received by critics and audiences. Based on the novels by Michael Connolly, Ballard is a spinoff of Bosch: Legacy, the Titus Welliver-led series that came to a close earlier in 2025. Being introduced in the Bosch: Legacy finale, Maggie Q's Renée Ballard spearheads a new cold case division for the LAPD.
In Ballard season 1, Taylor plays Samira Parker, a former police officer, who, after 5 years away, is convinced by Ballard to return to the LAPD. At the time of writing, Ballard has a perfect 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes and a 78% Popcornmeter. The season is also a hit on streaming, currently the top show on Prime Video. All episodes of Ballard are available to stream on Prime Video.
In an interview with ScreenRant's Grant Hermanns, Taylor shares her reaction to the series' critical praise and its success with viewership.

Bosch: Legacy fans have been patiently waiting for the return of the series, which ended Season 2 on a tense moment and left fans desperate to know what happened next. Season 3, however, will not directly be answering the questions they have, as series star Madison Lintz, who plays Harry Bosch’s daughter Maddie, revealed that there will be a short time jump when the show returns.
The Bosch franchise has been an incredible success, but after six seasons of Bosch, and three seasons of Bosch: Legacy, the series will be coming to an end – although a new spinoff will at least give fans the chance to see Titus Welliver return intermittently as Michael Connolly’s former detective. As the new season approaches, Lintz spoke to Game Rant about how the story will be picked up a little later in the timeline than many expected. She said:

Actor Titus Welliver became a household name after taking on the iconic role of Harry Bosch in the Prime Video series Bosch. Based on the Michael Connolly novels, Welliver's portrayal of Bosch showcases a gritty, morally complex detective driven by a relentless pursuit of justice and his performance proved that he deserved to be the lead of his own show. Before Bosch, though, Welliver had one of his best performances playing a very different kind of character in the HBO series Deadwood.

The Lincoln Lawyer co-showrunner Dailyn Rodriguez has spoken about the decision to put a major character's death in the middle of season 3. Based on the novels by Michael Connolly, the hit Netflix series returned with season 3 and was met with critical acclaim. The season 3 finale ended on a cliffhanger that sets up The Lincoln Lawyer season 4, but not before the mid-season death of fan-favorite Eddie. Mickey's beloved driver was killed after he and Mickey were run off the road by a truck while leaving the prison following a meeting with Victor Moya.
In an exclusive interview with Screen Rant, Rodriguez opened up on the decision to include Eddie's death in the show. The co-showrunner explained how it was an important moment in the story, considering the character is original to the series. The aptly titled Tulsa King Season 2 premiere finds Dwight “The General” Manfredi back in the saddle, alright.
He’s fighting for his life, giving advice behind bars, and expanding his business, all while navigating new enemies poised to take action to either scuttle or take over his successful Tulsa operation.
Don’t get me wrong; I know he’ll prevail. What’s the point of a show with Sly Stallone behind bars? But still, Dwight’s got a lot on his plate.
(Brian Douglas/Paramount+) Are The Walls Closing in on Dwight?
Thanks to his arrest, it’s the first time anyone has paid attention to Dwight’s Tulsa presence, making things much harder on The General.
Maybe that’s why he constantly toys with the idea of going legit. It’s got to be hard to thrive with that kind of stress. There is always someone out to get him.

There’s a certain magic in the air when you get to talk with Melanie Scrofano and Tim Rozon, the stars of Wynonna Earp: Vengeance.
The chemistry between Wynonna Earp and Doc Holliday on-screen spills over effortlessly in real life.
When we met online to discuss the highly anticipated Tubi special, it was clear that this isn’t just another project for them; it’s a labor of love fueled by a dedicated fandom and deep personal connections.

For both Melanie and Tim, stepping back into their characters and returning to Purgatory felt more like a homecoming than just another gig.
“It was a dream come true,” Melanie began with a laugh. “There’s no place like home, and even if your home is really messed up and chaotic, that’s where the heart is for sure.”
Tim echoed her sentiment,...

Harry Bosch (Titus Welliver) returns to our screens in Bosch: Legacy, the series based on the novels by author Michael Connolly, but things are different this time. When we last saw our favourite private investigator, still enjoying his retirement from the Los Angeles Police Department, he stumbled into his daughter's apartment, only to find Maddie (Madison Lintz) missing, having been abducted.

"Fans of The Lincoln Lawyer will find other shows like Bosch and Better Call Saul, with complex protagonists and quirky atmospheres, to be captivating legal dramas." "Rake and Damages embrace the seedy elements of defense lawyers, offering dark humor mixed with thrilling courtroom scenes that will keep viewers entertained." "The Good Fight and How to Get Away with Murder not only provide the usual thrills of a legal series, but also address pressing social and cultural issues, making them compelling choices for fans of The Lincoln Lawyer."
After becoming a huge hit for Netflix, people will be looking for more shows like The Lincoln Lawyer. The legal drama is based on the novel by Michael Connolly which was also made into the Matthew McConaughey film of the same name. It manages to bring something new to the well-established genre, particularly through its quirky atmosphere and the skilled performances of its cast.

Bosch fans, rejoice! Amazon‘s universe, inspired by the work of best-selling author Michael Connolly, is expanding with two Bosch spinoffs. The first project is an Untitled J. Edgar spinoff, following Harry Bosch’s former partner, Detective Jerry Edgar, who accepts an undercover FBI mission in Little Haiti, Miami. In this new locale, Edgar explores a gorgeous metropolis while balancing his life with the criminal element of the dreamy area. It’s rather inspiring to be in a new place until his past comes back to haunt him, making his new assignment more difficult than anticipated. According to Deadline, Jamie Hector, who plays Detective Jerry Edgar on Bosch and Bosch: Legacy, is in talks to reprise his role.
There’s also an Untitled Renee Ballard project in development. Detective Renee Ballard is in charge of the LAPD’s cold case sector. In addition to bringing dormant cases to a conclusion...

The Departed, the Oscar-winning 2006 Martin Scorsese movie, is getting a TV series reboot. In a competitive situation, the project has landed at Amazon for development. The Departed crime drama series is being produced by Amazon Studios as well as Vertigo Entertainment, Initial Entertainment Group and Plan B Entertainment — all of whom also produced the 2006 movie — in association with Warner Bros TV whose sibling feature studio was behind the film starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Jack Nicholson and Mark Wahlberg.
Written by Detroit 1-8-7 creator Jason Richman, The Departed puts a new, updated spin on the two-way-undercover concept in the Scorsese movie, which was set in Boston and dealt with the Irish mob, and the Hong Kong original Infernal Affairs.
Inspired by the films, The Departed TV series is set at present-day Chicago, amidst the shifting tides of warring ethnic drug gangs. In it, a young cop goes undercover to infiltrate a ruthless Latino gang,...

I hear AMC has given a straight-to-series order to drama The Son, from Sonar Entertainment and producer Michael Connolly. The network, which has its TCA presentation tomorrow, declined comment.
The Son, based on the book by Philipp Meyer, was one of three drama scripts AMC selected for further development in May, along with Goliath and Ledge 49. They were to set up a writers room and work on scripts and outlines with an eye toward straight-to-series orders. The goal was to have three to five completed backup scripts, a few more outlines and a completely mapped-out first season. Kevin Murphy is The Son‘s showrunner and ran that show’s writers room prior to pickup.
AMC has been diversifying its series development and production model with straight-to-series dramas: Into The Badlands, which was a breakout last fall, and international co-productions Humans and The Night Manager. While Into The Badlands and The Walking Dead...
