Creighton Rothenberger grew up in Boyertown, Pennsylvania. A graduate of the English Honors program at the University of Pennsylvania, he was awarded the Academy Nicholl Fellowship in Screenwriting for his Korean War epic, The Chosin, in 2002. He sold his first screenplay, Olympus Has Fallen, in 2012, which he developed from an original idea, and the film marks his first theatrically released project.

Received the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) Nicholl Fellowship in Screenwriting for his Korean War epic, The Chosin, in 2002.

Olympus Has Fallen was named to the 2012 Hit List, comprised of the top spec scripts of the year as voted on by industry professionals.

Wrote his first scripts while working as vice president of a financial services firm in suburban Philadelphia, which specialized in locating missing heirs and lost shareholders for Fortune 500 companies. Got up at 4AM every day to write for several hours before work.

Was elected class president by his fellow students in high school, where he was also a record-setting track and cross country runner.

Graduated from the English Honors Program at the University of Pennsylvania.
