Emmy and Sundance winning filmmaker Niobe Thompson's documentaries reach back to our human origins, explore the mysteries of evolution, and tackle the environmental dilemmas of the Anthropocene. Following the 2022 doc "Carbon - The Unauthorized Biography", he directed the 2024 feature "Hunt for the Oldest DNA", which premiered at CPH:DOX and on PBS, and went on to win an Emmy Award for "Best Science & Technology Documentary". A three-time winner of Canada's most prestigious award for science and nature documentaries - the Rob Stewart Award for "Best Science and Nature Program" - Niobe is the founder of Handful of Films.
