We have some great news for fans of the Harlan Coben Netflix shows! The next new Harlan Coben show, Caught, premieres on Netflix in March 2025. While you wait for the new series to be available to stream, I picked the four Harlan Coben Netflix shows you should rewatch right now.
Following the release of Missing You on Jan. 1, there are nine of Coben's shows on Netflix right now with many more in the works and on the way soon, including Run Away, which just started production in January.
Let's get the list of Coben's shows to rewatch starting with Safe starring Michael C. Hall!
Safe
Safe is my favorite of the Harlan Coben Netflix shows, as I have mentioned when writing about the topic before. It's actually the only one of the nine shows that isn't based on a book by Coben. Instead, he created the series along with Danny Brocklehurst,...

Hugh Jackman's best film, according to Rotten Tomatoes, is 2019's "Bad Education." Hugh Jackman's best film, according to Marvel fans, is 2017's "Logan." And Hugh Jackman's best film, according to me, is 2013's "Prisoners." But the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has a different opinion, as the prestigious organization has only ever paid attention to Jackman's 2012 turn in "Les Misérables."
Yes, the beloved Aussie scored an Oscar nomination for Best Actor at the 2013 Academy Awards, but lost out to Daniel Day-Lewis for his portrayal of the titular President in "Lincoln." Not that there's any shame in losing to Day-Lewis, but it's got to be a slight sore point for Jackman as it was the one and only time he earned an Academy Award nom, despite being one of the most versatile actors working in the industry.
Now, Jackman has once again reminded us of his talents with "Deadpool & Wolverine,...

Harvey Keitel transforms into a guru named Marpa, who becomes the spiritual guide of a young girl named Mila (played by “Les Miserables” actor Isabelle Allen), in Italian director Louis Nero’s futuristic drama “Milarepa.”
Set in a “no tech” near future, the English-language indie film – with a cast also comprising F. Murray Abraham; Angela Molina; Franco Nero (no relation to the director); Diana Dell’Erba; Mexico’s Iazua Larios (“Sundown”) and Italy-based Japanese actor Hal Yamanouchi (“The Wolverine”) – just wrapped principle photography on the island of Sardinia, where it made ample use of its ancient megalithic stone constructions, dunes and craggy landscapes. See an exclusive first-look image of Keitel above.
“Milarepa” is a co-production between the director’s L’Altrofilm shingle, British producer Jake Seal’s Black Hanger Studio and Louisiana-based Orwo Studio USA. Orwo Distribution is handling international sales.

Anne Hathaway's decision to cut her hair for her role as Fantine in Les Misérables was a critical aspect of the character's story and helped to sell the loss and humiliation she experienced. The haircut was a emotionally intense experience for Hathaway, reducing her to tears and making her feel like a "mental patient". Despite the traumatic nature of losing her hair, Hathaway had a lot of support and love on the set of Les Misérables, which made the experience more bearable.
Anne Hathaway plays Fantine in Les Misérables, and she really did get a haircut for the role. The 2012 Les Misérables is a dark, epic, historical musical based on the stage musical of the same name, which is, of course, an adaptation of the renowned novel by Victor Hugo. 2020 has been awful for most of us due to the pandemic and the start of this year is no better. Although new movies are not really being made, we are still getting release after realease. I find myself less interested in checking out the big-budget stuff like Tenet and can’t seem to find excitement for Wonder Woman 84. Instead I find myself turning to the lower budget, but way more outlandish, projects that serve up a nice big bowl of escapism. Movies like Knuckledust, Come Away or GLoc.

This affectionate spoof of early 90s gaming scores high in nostalgia, but lags without comedic heavy-hitters
Here is a throwaway space spoof, an affectionate send-up of the naffness of early 90s video games, that lovingly recreates the vintage details with its production design and fight choreography, but is troublingly low on scripted gags. It plays out in two dimensions: virtual and real life. Inside a computer game, explorer Max Cloud is an intergalactic hero, a preposterous macho knucklehead in latex, sturdily performed by actor and martial arts expert Scott Adkins, who has appeared in a few of the Marvels. I did wonder if an actor with the comic chops for some megaton silliness might have done some heavier lifting here.
Meanwhile, in actual Brooklyn, teenage gamer Sarah (Isabelle Allen) is hooked on the Max Cloud video game. After a fight with her dad she is mysteriously teleported into the game...

Tania Alexander, a 12-year Studio Lambert executive who oversees Gogglebox, is leaving the All3Media-owned producer. "Who wants the first dance!?" Well Go USA has debuted an official trailer for an indie video game sci-fi action movie titled Max Cloud, though the original full title is The Intergalactic Adventures of Max Cloud. This looks like a goofy, comedic play on The Last Starfighter, about a gamer girl who gets sucked into her favorite side-scroller game. She's transported into a crashed space cruiser on a planet that is home to an intergalactic prison. Her friend on the outside must help her finish the game. The film stars Scott Adkins as Max Cloud, plus Isabelle Allen, Tommy Flanagan, Lashana Lynch, Elliot Langridge, Sally Collett, Franz Drameh, and John Hannah. This looks like wacky video game fun! Reminds me of the Trost Bros' The Fp with its clunky sci-fi style. Might be a good casual watch with friends on the weekend. Here's the first official trailer (+ two posters) for Martin Owen's Max Cloud,...

“Hitman” is probably the most disproportionately over-represented profession in movies, at least over the medium’s last half-century. “Killers Anonymous” is one of those occasional films that attempt novelty by having a character cast of nothing but hitmen — which isn’t really all that much of a novelty, for the above-noted reason.
This latest entry in the cluttered annals of vaguely Tarantino-esque neo-noir criminal capers doesn’t take itself particularly seriously. But it doesn’t strike an assertively comic tone either, resulting in a superficially colorful but hollow pile of contrivances that are neither clever nor convincing enough to achieve more than time-passing diversion. Lionsgate is opening Martin Owen’s third feature, a U.S.-U.K. co-production, on 13 U.S. screens simultaneous with on-demand launch.

Gary Oldman and Jessica Alba have joined a new film project called Killer Anonymous, which is said to have the potential of being a cult classic. The movie is being directed by Martin Owen (Let’s Be Evil) and this is the intriguing description of the film that Variety offered:
The film enters a world that exists beneath ours, beneath the day-to-day, the restraint and the order. For every life there is a death, and for every person there is an itch that only the few scratch; the dark voice that tells us to blow out the flame of another’s life. You might walk down a street and brush shoulders with a stranger and exchange a polite smile, completely unaware that stranger is picturing themselves stood above your bleeding body as you draw your final breath. There is a place for those people. They have all killed, they all think about killing,...

Desperately in need of money to care for a sick parent, Jenny (Morris) takes a job supervising children at a learning centre for gifted students. But when she and two other new employees are ushered into a maximum-security underground bunker where eerily robotic children are outfitted with augmented reality glasses, Jenny finds herself thrust into a disturbing technological experiment in which she is an unwitting player in a terrifying virtual game.
Techno-horror is a genre that, given my previous experiences with films of this nature, is really hard to get right. The reliance on the technology within, techno-babble et al. can, and often does, overwhelm the story the filmmakers are trying to tell.

Sunday night's flooded red carpet wasn't exactly a Hollywood moment – but the Golden Globes are not the first awards bash to suffer from deeply unglamorous incidents

• Xan Brooks: six surprises
• Guardian Film Show: 'What the hell?'
If you look closely – really closely – at the stars on the red carpet at last night's Golden Globes, you might be able to detect a hint of horror. That's not because they were about to settle into three hours of tedious smuggery, but because they might have been traipsing their expensive frocks through human waste. Moments before the red carpet opened, emergency crews were drafted in to mop up a flood. Some say a faulty sprinkler was to blame, but it's also been claimed that the flood was caused by a burst sewage pipe. If that's the case, it'd rank as one of the...

★★☆☆☆
Winner of three glittering Oscars, British director Tom Hooper's all-singing, all-dancing big screen adaptation of Victor Hugo's classic novel (as well as the subsequent stage musical) Les Misérables has certainly managed to capture the imagination of many. After conquering all and sundry at with breakthrough hit The King's Speech (2010), Hooper had set the bar intimidatingly high for his eagerly awaited follow-up. It was almost excruciatingly disappointing then, to see such a competent filmmaker undone more by his own bemusing misdirection and false steps, than by any preconceived, lofty ambition.
Set against the backdrop of 19th century France, Hooper's Les Misérables tells an interconnected, sprawling tale of imprisoned souls, demonised poor and kindred spirits, all fighting for survival amidst a country on the verge of civil unrest. Australian man mountain Hugh Jackman plays ex-convict Jean Valjean (aka prisoner 24601), hunted across the land by lawman Javert (Russell Crowe) after he breaks free of his bonds.

It has been one of the most prolific decades for the film musical since the 1960s – but only the global brands get their moment in the spotlight
Ever since Les Misérables commenced its ground assault on the Oscars last autumn, director Tom Hooper has taken every opportunity to flaunt extreme courage in the line of duty by Hugh Jackman and co, who sung their takes live. Mostly, the critics seem won over by the brinksmanship. Present in every larynx-crack, heaving gulp and passion-flushed cheek, Hooper's authenticity fetishism – peering longingly in the direction of Les Mis's stage origins – is also a reminder of how chummy film and musical theatre have become in the last few years.

Film: "Les Miserables"; Cast: Aaron Tveit, Amanda Seyfried, Anne Hathaway, Colm Wilkinson, Eddie Redmayne, Helena Bonham Carter, Hugh Jackman, Isabelle Allen, Russell Crowe, Sacha Baron Cohen and Samantha Barks; Director: Tom Hooper; Rating: ****
Sad stories sell like hot cakes and "Les Miserables" tugs at your heart strings. An adaptation from Victor Hugo's eponymous book, it is not a historical story, but a classic tale of humanity, love and loss set against the backdrop of a political uprising in France, the French Revolution.
Directed by Tom Hooper, who had earlier done "The King's Speech", "Les Miserables" is a spectacular blockbuster. From the first to the last frame, the film enthralls you like a magnum opus.

There's nothing that demonstrates the difference between the "Les Misérables" stage show and movie more than the new Oscar-nominated song, "Suddenly." The tender lullaby sung by Jean Valjean (Hugh Jackman) to little Cosette (Isabelle Allen) in a carriage never could've been carried off on stage, yet it's one of the intimate highlights of the movie. For composer Claude-Michel Schönberg and lyricist Alain Boublil (who created the blockbuster stage musical in 1985), it was an opportunity to expand their vision by revisiting the famed Victor Hugo source novel at the insistence of director Tom Hooper. "Hooper thought one thing missing from the musical was how an acknowledgment of the love that Cosette played in Jean Valjean's life helped transform him," Boublil explains. "Victor Hugo had written something about two unhappy souls making one happy human being, and Hooper asked us to think about that line and a song as a...

No, it's not a young Dakota Fanning. The girl who recreated the iconic Les Miserables poster for the Oscar-nominated movie is Isabelle Allen, who plays Cosette, the forlorn daughter of Fantine (Anne Hathaway). As Cosette grows older, Amanda Seyfried takes over in the role.
Les Miserables is Allen's first movie, but it probably won't be her last. "She’s incredible. Totally pure and unspoilt. She is the movie," costar Hugh Jackman told the Daily Mail.
The British actress, 10, was discovered while playing the male lead in a school play last year. Jeremy Taylor of the National Youth Music Theatre spotted Allen in her role as a lame boy in 'The Pied Piper Of Hamelin' and got her an audition with Les Miserables casting agents.
She's also a team player, tweeting congrats to her costars for their Golden Globes wins Sunday night:
Yay, well done to @realhughjackman, #AnneHathaway & @lesmisofficial...

Les Miserables
Stars: Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway, Isabelle Allen, Amanda Seyfried, Samantha Barks, Eddie Redmayne, Colm Wilkinson | Written by Victor Hugo, William Nicholson | Directed by Tom Hooper
Victor Hugo’s epic novel Les Miserables is no stranger to big screen adaptations, with close to fifty different versions in various languages, but Tom Hooper’s version, (Oscar winning director of The King’s Speech) the first to adapt the stage musical, is possibly the grandest and most ambitious to date. The tale of Jean Valjean provides the plot for the longest running musical in the West End, and it took 27 years for someone to bring give it the cinematic treatment it so clearly deserves.
The story begins as Jean Valjean (Hugh Jackman) is released on parole after 19 years in prison for stealing a loaf of bread, and trying to escape. However he breaks parole, in attempt to make a better life for himself,...

Having picked up an impressive eight nominations in yesterday’s Oscar nominations announcement, Tom Hooper’s Les Misérables is finally making its way to the UK this weekend, after opening in North America on Christmas Day.
As you can imagine from the number of nominations, the film has been earning tremendous levels of praise in the last few months – you can read our five-star review here – and naturally the anticipation for its arrival on our shores is running on high.
Whilst we’ve had longer to wait for it to arrive, we do have the added benefit of the film securing an IMAX release here in the UK, and now a new IMAX featurette has debuted ahead of its release this Friday.
“Set against the backdrop of 19th-century France, Les Misérables tells an enthralling story of broken dreams and unrequited love, passion, sacrifice and redemption—a timeless testament to the survival of the human spirit.

Les Misérables is a musical of big emotions. Characters are brought to their lowest, experience love at first sight, sacrifice their lives for revolution, spend decades in pursuit of justice, and believe their quests are ordained by God. The songs and their context can come off as cheesy, but the non-stop music and story wrap the production in grandeur that sweep the audience into a captivating world. Paired with terrific performances, the film adaptation of Les Misérables is almost unstoppable. But director Tom Hooper throws up a barrier as he constantly blocks out the tremendous production values with far too many close-ups and editing that chases the music rather than guides it. We still hear the people sing, but their voices should ring louder. Set in Paris during the first half of the 19th century, Les Misérables follows the journey of Jean Valjean (Hugh Jackman). After being imprisoned for 19 years...

Review: ‘Les Misérables’ Features Good Talent, But Director Tom Hooper Is Hardly Master of the House
There is a lot of buzz about the live singing on the set Les Misérables. All of the actors sang as the cameras rolled rather than recording in a studio first, and that’s a great accomplishment since many of the actors have wonderful singing voices and don’t exactly need autotuning. This live singing in combination with the film’s grand scope – finally, a film of the legendary Boublil/Schönberg musical! – is supposed to make this a great film. But, very sadly, it does not. While the film is filled with a lot of great talent and certainly is watchable, it buckles under the often mind-blowingly heavy-handed direction by Tom Hooper (The King’s Speech) and never becomes the epic piece of cinema that it so clearly set out to be. The story is fairly common knowledge (and quite involved), but Jean Valjean (Hugh Jackman) is finishing up his prison sentence for breaking into a house...

Les Miserables Directed by: Tom Hooper Written by: William Nicholson (screenplay), Victor Hugo (novel) Starring: Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway, Amanda Seyfried, Sacha Baron Cohen, Helena Bonham Carter Tom Hooper’s (The King’s Speech) ambitious, sweeping epic adaptation of the musical Les Miserables hits full force on all cylinders during the first half, ensuring that it will garner a plethora of Academy Award nominations. However, an unfortunate and disappointing second half sends the film careening off course, and left me scratching my head over what exactly went wrong. Les Miserables (based on the French novel by Victor Hugo) has so successfully ingratiated itself into the world of pop culture that chances are you know the story of Jean Valjean and his lifelong quest to elude the clutches of police inspector Javert, even if you have never read the book or seen a performance. There have been multiple film...
