Days after the film was pulled from Sundance over a dispute between Participant Media and director Kahlil Joseph, James Shani’s Rich Spirit banner has acquired “Blknws: Terms & Conditions,” according to an insider with knowledge of the project.
The sale comes after Participant pulled the indie film from screenings scheduled for Sundance over an alleged “secret” cut made by Joseph without the company’s knowledge. Participant, the studio behind films like “Spotlight” and “Green Book,” was the primary producer of “Blknws: Terms & Conditions” and owned the copyright to the film after formally shuttering last April.
Prior to Participant, A24 previously backed the film as a co-financier and distributor, but bailed last summer after Joseph failed to deliver a final cut.

After financier Participant (“Spotlight”) pulled multimedia artist Kahlil Joseph‘s film “Blknws: Terms and Conditions” from the Sundance Film Festival on the eve of its world premiere, a savior in the form of James Shani acquired the film from Participant. It will now screen Monday at 9am Mt in the festival’s Next program. He and partner Bn Media will seek a co-distributor.
“We were deeply disappointed that they were pulling ‘Blknws: Terms and Conditions,'” Sundance Director Eugene Hernandez told IndieWire. “It is a radiant and immersive cinematic experience.”
Shani, a 36-year-old former talent manager, launched indie production and distribution company Rich Spirit Studios in 2024. That company co-distributed “The Apprentice” with Briarcliff Entertainment, which earned two Oscar nominations last week. The film has so far grossed $9 million worldwide.

After “Blknws: Terms & Conditions” was pulled from this year’s Sundance Film Festival lineup, at the behest of its financiers at Participant Media, the independent movie has a new backer — and will light up snowy Park City with its world premiere after all.
James Shani’s Rich Spirit and Bn Media have acquired “Blknws,” buying Participant Media out of all rights in the process, with hopes of selling the film to a new distributor. Shani’s company is best known for rescuing “The Apprentice,” the controversial Donald Trump biopic, from Kinematics, which is backed by the billionaire former owner of the Washington Commanders, Dan Snyder.
Participant, the now-defunct social impact studio, did not immediately respond to request for comment.

Ondi Timoner was in Budapest filming a Holocaust documentary when she learned her house in Altadena had been destroyed in the Eaton Fire. When she was finally able to fly back to Los Angeles, she had little time to absorb what she’d lost, going straight from Lax to the sold-out “Dig! Xx” screening at Vidiots in Eagle Rock.

Kahlil Joseph’s film “Blknws: Terms and Conditions” was pulled from the Sundance Film Festival just days before it was meant to make its world premiere. The film’s financier and copyright holder, Participant, alleged the cut being screened was different from the final cut Joseph initially delivered.
Participant, the now-defunct social-impact studio behind films like “Spotlight,” sent a legal letter to the filmmaker accusing him of screening a “secret” cut of the project to critics.
Participant in the letter, first obtained by Variety, said it was “shocked” about the alternate cut; the studio pulled the film from the festival ahead of its screening on Friday. Participant also says Joseph presented the new cut to the Berlin International Film Festival, where it was set to screen next month, “all behind Participant’s back.” Deadline reported that officials for Berlin were waiting to consult Joseph before seeing whether screenings of the film could continue.

Exclusive: After defunct socially conscious Participant pulled Kahlil Joseph’s experimental movie Blknws: Terms & Conditions from the Sundance Film Festival, the filmmaker has weighed in over the “unexpectedly harsh letter” he received from the pic financier’s lawyers.
Blknws was originally set to world premiere in the Next section of the festival.
In a note to Deadline, the director, whose credits include Beyonce’s Lemonade, says “We’re still hopeful that the originally submitted film from Participant, which Sundance already has in their possession, can still screen on Friday. You can imagine our surprise and confusion upon receiving such an unexpectedly harsh letter. It has been a challenging adjustment since the transition at Participant last year, as we’ve been navigating these matters without the incredible team of filmmakers we previously worked closely with. I love this film and know it will excite audiences when they finally get to see it.

Participant has pulled the indie film “Blknws: Terms & Conditions” from screenings scheduled for the Sundance and Berlin Film Festivals over an alleged “secret” cut made by director Kahlil Joseph without the company’s knowledge, a legal complaint from Participant reveals.
In the letter, filed on Tuesday, Participant said it was “shocked” to learn on Jan. 17 that Joseph — a filmmaker who contributed to Beyoncé’s “Lemonade” film — had worked on a different version of “Blknws” that was due to be screened at CAA without telling the company.
“Given that Mr. Joseph delivered the film to Participant in November 2024, and Participant submitted that version to Sundance in reliance that it was the final cut of the film, it is completely unacceptable that Mr. Joseph continued to purport to make changes to the film,” the letter says.

A highly anticipated film has been withdrawn from the 2025 Sundance Film Festival just days before its scheduled premiere, following a dispute between the director and the film’s financier.
“Blknws: Terms & Conditions,” directed by Kahlil Joseph, was abruptly removed from the festival’s lineup after Participant Media discovered the director had created and shown an alternative version of the film without authorization.
The conflict erupted after Participant learned that Joseph screened a different cut of the film at Creative Artists Agency (CAA) on January 17th. The disputed version reportedly differs from the approved cut by approximately one minute, primarily involving legal clearance issues.
“We are deeply disappointed by the sudden withdrawal,” a Sundance representative said, describing the film as “a radiant and immersive cinematic experience” that will not be shown at this year’s festival.

Blknws: Terms & Conditions had been set to screen in Berlin’s Perspectives sidebar for fiction feature debuts. We’ve reached out to reps for Participant and Joseph for their official responses. An indie film set to premiere at this week’s Sundance Film Festival has been pulled from the lineup by its financier, Variety has learned exclusively. A spinoff of the Biblical drama The Chosen just got a big update. The Chosen is a wildly popular historical drama that derives its plot from the life of Jesus Christ and the people who surrounded him. It is set in first-century Israel where Roman oppression is on the rise, and is considered to be a nuanced look at Jesus' life. The seasons of the series have been rolled out over years, with season 1 first being released in 2019 and The Chosen season 4 coming out earlier this year.
In an interview with The Direct, The Chosen director Dallas Jenkins explains what is next for The Chosen universe. According to Jenkins, there is a limited series in active development called Joseph. In Dallas Jenkins’ The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, a group of kids wreak daily havoc on Emmanuel, a small town somewhere in America. The Herdmans, according to the narrator (Lauren Graham) of this uneven tale, are “the worst kids in the history of the world” — a title earned by Ralph (Mason D. Nelligan), Leroy (Ewan Wood), Claude (Matthew Lamb), Ollie (Essek Moore), Gladys (Kynlee Heiman) and Imogen (Beatrice Schneider) through a host of shenanigans ranging from personally offensive to downright harmful.
A nifty montage at the beginning of the holiday feature shows the Herdmans bullying kids and adults with impunity; taking the Lord’s name in vain; smoking cigars; stealing from local businesses and even setting fire to a dilapidated shed. If there is one thing that has surprised us about Bachelor Nation fan favorite Joey Graziadei besides the fact that he has an illustrious past, reminiscing on being a powderpuff cheerleader, a drummer, and more during his Dancing With The Stars journey it is that this reality TV star has some superb dancing skills that nobody saw coming.
After all, he and his professional dance partner, Jenna Johnson, have been killing it on Dancing With The Stars, solidifying his spot as one of Season 33's obvious frontrunners.
Jenna Johnson Reveals The Hilarious Reason Why She Calls Her DWTS Partner By His Full Name

Everyone in Gotham City knows the Joker. He is a serial killer and terrorist who is world renowned, especially due to his unique appearance. His own face and demeanor mean that the few times that the Joker actually needs to disappear and lie low, he has to use an alias, especially since he often doesn't remember his own name.
Over the years, the Joker has employed a wide variety of aliases to help him avoid detection. Some of these have been names that not even the most ardent Joker fan would be able to guess, and some of them have been so unbelievably obvious that it's hard to imagine that the Joker genuinely thought they were good ideas at all. Of his many aliases over the years, some have been more obvious than others, but all were essential to the Joker's plans.

Quinn did some exit interviews after his eviction where he reflected on his Big Brother play and answered pre-submitted questions.

In the Part Two Battle Tendency arc of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Joseph Joestar definitely stole the show. The second main Joestar's comedic and fun-loving personality, sheer strength, endless drive to fight evil, and expert use of the Hamon technique make him a hero to admire. Even without a Stand at this time, he still impressed and amazed fans with his physical might and memorable personality.
u/Nitsvetov on Reddit has cosplayed the JoJo's hero so accurately, it is as if the character has stepped right out of the anime. They are wearing a pair of blue jeans and tall black leather boots, paired with a short black crop top to show off the hero's ripped abdominal muscles developed through hours of grueling training. They are also wearing a pair of black fingerless gloves with silver and brown details and a green and yellow striped scarf to tie the look together effortlessly.

Quinn Martin is a “Big Brother” superfan, but he didn’t play the game as strategically as you might expect from someone well versed. The nurse recruiter burned bridges with his multiple alliances left and right, proudly lied to everyone, and nominated two of his allies and watched them both go home after vote-flips. But he still wouldn’t change a thing after becoming the first juror of “Big Brother 26” on Thursday.
“I had zero interest in being an honest player. My thought was, how boring to go into this game that is so fun to watch when people are lying, that is so fun to celebrate when blindsides are being pulled off and you’re witnessing manipulation take stage,” Quinn tells Gold Derby (watch above). “I don’t think I would change anything and that’s probably dumb to say. But I believe in the phrase ‘burn bright, die young.

Week 8 in the “Big Brother” house ended Thursday night, with Quinn Martin being sent to the jury house just seven days after his second disastrous Head of Household. Reigning Hoh Chelsie Baham wasn’t really targeting Quinn, but knows his eviction could be best for her game in the long run. Quinn was ousted in a 4-2 eviction vote over Kimo Apaka. The 25-year-old nurse recruiter from Omaha, Nebraska became the eighth houseguest evicted from Season 26 and the first member of the jury.
Quinn bolted out of the house pretty quickly after his eviction. “What’s the point of saying, ‘Thanks guys, I appreciate you voting me out. Let’s hug and hold hands,'” he told guest host Jerry O’Connell, who was subbing in for a Covid-19 stricken Julie Chen Moonves. Some King of the Hill fans refuse to believe that Dale Gribble couldn’t see how badly John Redcorn was playing him for a fool, but others aren’t so convinced — Dale knew that “Licensed New Age Healer” was screwing around with his mower.
The suspicious paternity of young Joseph Gribble is one of the oldest jokes in Mike Judge’s masterpiece about a simple Texas town and its simple Texan inhabitants — some more simple than others. Despite Dale being suspicious about everything from the moon landing to a possible connection between the U.S. Postal Service and the Red Cross to the existence of Hawaii, 13 seasons and 259 total episodes of King of the Hill came and went without Rusty Shackleford ever getting wise to the fact that Mrs. Shackleford was shagging her masseuse, and that the only “headache” she needed healing was Dale himself.

Writer/Director/Editor Michael Felker’s feature directorial debut, Things Will Be Different, sees a pair of siblings on the lam get caught up in a twisty sci-fi puzzle box thriller. Today brings the first trailer and a poster the highlights the genre-bending mysteries ahead.
Magnet Releasing has set a theatrical day-and-date release for Things Will Be Different on October 4, 2024.
The film follows “estranged siblings who, after a robbery, escape to a rural safe house hidden in time and discover they’re not the only occupants.”
“I made Things Will Be Different for people who love thrillers, noir, and science fiction they can think about. It’s a giant mystery box of a movie with a strong familial core that’s inspired by my own family. Adam David Thompson and Riley Dandy are just incredible as Joe and Sid, and I can’t believe they aren’t actually brother and sister.

Heading into the 25th episode of “Big Brother 26,” Joseph Rodriguez had just been evicted by a 4-to-3 vote over Kimo Apaka. Big Brother 26 recently said goodbye to Joseph Rodriguez, but he has lots to say about his experience.
Most of what Joseph has to say is pretty negative after he got blindsided by the Ainsley twist and several BB26 cast members.
Joseph was pretty confident in his gameplay, comparing himself to Dr. Will Kirby after he had survived the first few weeks.
Dr. Will won Big Brother 2, got invited back for Big Brother: All-Stars (BB7), and has hosted many jury roundtables for the franchise.
Joseph was so confident in his gameplay that he threw (or claimed to throw) challenges left and right. He even sat down in the middle of a Veto Competition.
When Joseph was named as a replacement nominee by an ally (Quinn Martin), he still acted like he was safe. But he wasn’t. And he has plenty of shade and blame for folks about why he...

Captain Benjamin Sisko (Avery Brooks) had a mysterious sister that Star Trek: Deep Space Nine mostly forgot about. Sisko commanded Deep Space Nine for seven seasons, rising from a Starfleet Commander of a space station on the edge of the United Federation of Planets' frontier to a decorated Captain and war hero. But Sisko was more than his dedication to his Starfleet duty and his destiny as the Emissary of the Prophets of Bajor. Benjamin Sisko was also a family man, although the Sisko clan was bigger than DS9 ever showed.
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine broke the mold by introducing Benjamin Sisko as a widower and father to his young son, Jake Sisko (Cirroc Lofton). Ben tragically lost his wife, Jennifer (Felicia M. Big Brother 26 spoilers reveal that Joseph Rodriguez didn’t throw the Veto Competition this week.
Well, maybe this was obvious since Joseph got evicted during the last episode. It was a blindside to him, as he felt pretty safe in the game.
Joseph got selected in many previous veto draws, even when he planned to throw challenges. But Joseph couldn’t be chosen this time, robbing him of a chance to pretend he was playing Big Brother (again).
Chelsie Baham is the Week 8 Head of Household after winning a challenge late Thursday night (September 5).
Chelsie revealed she wanted to get Angela Murray evicted; that was the primary target she told her allies.
Angela began following people around the house to ensure she would hear any conversations about herself, but other houseguests still found time to discuss voting her out.

Hey, "Big Brother" fans. We're back at you ,once again, with another important Big Brother season 26 update. Earlier today, September 6, 2024, the latest eviction nomination ceremony finally took place, and we've got the results of it for you guys. As we previously reported, Chelsie won the latest Hoh (Head Of Household) competition last night after the Live eviction episode, which sent Joseph packing and heading home. So, Chelsie was in charge of nominating two unlucky houseguests for eviction today. During Chelsie's eviction nomination ceremony, she chose to nominate Angela and Kimo for eviction. This is pretty much what we expected to see happen since she told multiple people on the Live feeds that was her game plan for today. She had also mentioned that if Angela or Kimo come off the block via a veto, Quinn and Leah are her main candidates to be a replacement nominee. Currently, Angela is Chelsie's main target.

It was another hectic week in the Big Brother house. After Leah won the Pov and took Angela off the block, she seemingly sealed Joseph’s fate. Now, show host Julie Chen is opening up about her opinions on how the whole thing went down. Keep reading to find out what she has to say.
Julie Chen Moonves talks Big Brother
This week on Big Brother, Quinn won Hoh after finally getting to send his in-house enemy, Tucker, home. Initially, he put Rubina (Tucker’s showmance), Angela, and Kimo on the block. However, Leah ended up winning Pov, and took Angela off the block. While this was a somewhat controversial move because Joseph ended up taking her place, Leah seems to be playing the game well. By taking Angela off the block, she potentially earned herself a jury vote. And, she will keep Angela and her allies from becoming Leah’s enemies.
