Award winning Filmmaker Kecia J. Benson is known for her creative cinematic style. In 2009, she landed her first assistant directing gig on actress Azariah Gunn's feature debut Spare Change. Soon after, Kecia worked with profound directors like Spike Lee, Tim Story, and Charles Stone III. Within the years, Kecia had the opportunity to work with networks like HBO, MTV, VH1, TVone, CW, and BET. Soon after freelancing for Spike Lee as a production assistant for 3 years, Kecia decided to pursue directing.

In 2010, Kecia debuted her first short film Unidentified, a suspenseful thriller about a man being held hostage for ransom. Unidentified was featured in several film festivals including the 2011 Reel Sisters of Diaspora Film Festival.

In 2012, Kecia directed Beale Street Blues a controversial documentary about struggling black blues musician in Memphis, TN. Beale Street Blues screened at BAM's New Voices in Black Cinema in 2013 and received a distribution deal with SnagFilms.com.

Kecia released her most anticipated film Kenya's Eyes in 2014. Kenya's Eyes explores the life of a mindless young girl struggling with bullying and exploitation. The film circuit prominent festivals like the 2014 Langston Hughes, BET Hollywood Indie Night, Sista's Doin It for Themselves, and the Bronze Lens Film Festival.

Kecia's production company Enigma Filmworks partnered with Dot Com Entertainment on a comedy documentary called The Uptown Comedy Club: The Birth of Hip Hop Comedy. UCC tells the story of all the comedians who graced the Harlem stage of the popular comedy club in the 80's. This documentary features interviews with, Tracy Morgan of SNL & NBC's 30 Rock, JB Smoove of 'Real Husbands of Hollywood', "Curb Your Enthusiasm", Flex Alexander of UPN's "One on One", Jim Breuer of Half Bake, Kim Whitley of "Raising Whitley" and "Sparks", and many more.

Kecia was featured in Brunch Magazine, Shadow & Act, Electronic Urban Report, JCSU Alumni Spotlight, Humor Mill Magazines, and Bric Arts Media. Currently working at the NFL Network in operations, she continues to explore new adventures and possibilities.
