Fox Reveals 'Doc' Season 2 Premiere Date & More
Image
There are so many different reasons to love Fall. From the thrill of football season to series (and season) premieres, the kick-off of chilly weather brings fun days. Fox, among many other networks, is gearing up to show football games and spoil fans with various television shows. For those patiently waiting for the sophomore season of Fox's hit medical drama, Doc, the wait is over, as the show will premiere its new season on September 23, 2025. It shares a premiere date with Murder in a Small Town, with various game shows also taking over the network.

Doc follows Dr. Amy Larsen, played by Molly Parker, the chief of internal medicine at Westside Hospital in Minneapolis, as she aims to build a new life after a life-altering car accident. Larsen had a traumatic brain injury following a car accident that caused her to lose her memory. The doctor cannot remember anything that...

A 'Desperate Housewives' Alum Makes Her ‘Doc’ Debut in New Season 2 Teaser Revealing Fall Release Date
Image
Fox's smash-hit medical drama, Doc, has set its return date for Season 2, and it's coming back even bigger than the first. Season 1 premiered to instant success on the network, becoming its most-watched series in more than five years with over 16 million viewers tuning in for the season premiere. This led to a swift Season 2 renewal, which came ahead of the penultimate episode. Given these reasons, it's not surprising to see that Fox is doubling down on the series; where Season 1 included 10 episodes, a new report from the network reveals that the upcoming sophomore season will include a whopping 22 episodes. A new teaser trailer for the new season has also been released.

What sets Doc apart from other medical dramas is that it’s inspired by the remarkable true story of Pierdante Piccioni, an Italian doctor who, after a tragic accident in 2013, lost 12 years of his memory. The story was first...

Fox's Doc Will Bring an Emmy-Winning Star to the ER for Season 2
Image
Fox's breakout medical drama, Doc, adds an acclaimed actor to its emergency room for its anticipated second season. The series welcomes Emmy Award-winning star Felicity Huffman on board for Season 2, currently in development.

Per Deadline, Huffman has joined the Doc cast, where she will portray Dr. Joan Ridley, an internal medicine and surgery specialist known for her witty, nonconfrontational style. A self-described "old-school broad" who likes a bit of whiskey and a smoke now and again, Joan is a medical professional who never raises her voice and is a charmer around her colleagues, but possesses a fierce ambition. Joan was also an early mentor and med school professor for the show's central character, Dr. Amy Larsen (Molly Parker), maintaining a good yet honest relationship. After being offered the Chief of Internal Medicine job at Minneapolis' Westside Hospital, succeeding Dr. Richard Miller (Scott Wolf), Joan shows that while she's there to help Amy and the staff,...

‘Doc’ Season 2 Adds a ‘Desperate Housewives’ Star
Image
Days before Fox’s hit medical drama Doc ended its first run on Tuesday, March 18, it was renewed for a second season, which still has no premiere date. Even without one yet, fans can expect several changes to be made to the series, some of which have already been revealed, including the recent promotion of two cast members to series regulars. Another major update, as announced by Fox on Tuesday, June 10, is the addition of Felicity Huffman to Season 2 in a role hugely connected to Amy Larsen (Molly Parker).

In Doc’s sophomore season, Huffman will portray Dr. Joan Ridley, Amy’s med school professor and early mentor, per TV Insider. She is also the new Chief of Internal Medicine at Westside Hospital. The Desperate Housewives star joins Parker, Omar Metwally, Amirah Vann, Jon Ecker, Anya Banerjee, Patrick Walker and Charlotte Fountain-Jardim in the main cast. Late last month, Walker...

Debuting back in January, the story centers on Dr. Amy Larsen (played by House of Cards star Molly Parker) and what happens when she suffers a brain injury that causes her to lose years of memories. Felicity Huffman Joins Fox’s ‘Doc’ For Season 2
Image
Exclusive: Fox’s breakout Doc, starring Molly Parker, is getting a high-profile new cast addition for Season 2. Felicity Huffman has been tapped as a series regular on the medical drama from Sony Pictures TV and Fox Entertainment Studios, which is set to return this fall. This marks only the third series regular role on an ongoing series for Huffman following her starring turns on ABC’s Sports Night and Desperate Housewives, the latter earning her an Emmy Award.

Huffman will play Dr. Joan Ridley. Double-boarded in internal medicine and surgery, she’s the kind of doctor who never has to raise her voice. Incredibly charming and charismatic with a wicked sense of humor that masks her ferocious ambition. Molly Parker in Doc (2025)
Fox’s Doc Ups Patrick Walker, Charlotte Fountain-Jardim Ahead of Sizeable Season 2
Molly Parker in Doc (2025)
Fox’s freshman hit Doc has promoted Patrick Walker and Charlotte Fountain-Jardim from recurring players to series regulars for the drama’s second season, which begins filming this summer ahead of a fall launch on Tuesdays at 9 p.m. Et/Pt. Their elevation accompanies the network’s rare 22-episode pickup, announced in February after the premiere drew more than 16 million cross-platform viewers—Fox’s largest debut in five years.

Walker returns as Dr. “Tj” Coleman, a first-year resident whose childhood in-flight medical emergency bound him to Dr. Amy Larsen, while Fountain-Jardim reprises Katie Hamda, Amy’s ambitious daughter now eyeing medical school. Showrunner Barbie Kligman said she “loves that relationship, that history, all of it,” promising deeper exploration of the pair’s dynamic as Amy continues to piece together the eight years erased by her traumatic brain injury.

The Handmaid’s Tale Season 6 Episode 4 Struggles to Draw a Line in the Sand Between Gilead and a Free Society
Image
June is struggling sharing the spotlight with Luke and Moira on The Handmaid’s Tale Season 6 Episode 4, but not because she wants it all to herself.

Instead, she’s rattled that they kept their plans from her for so long and concerned they may not fully understand what they’re getting themselves into by staging a multi-pronged attack.

But June will have to open her arms and let them in.

(Disney/Steve Wilkie)

Luke has taken control of a plan of attack that includes bombing a comms tower, an ammunition warehouse, and a federal building.

It’s changed him. His whole demeanor changed, from his posture to the cadence of his voice. Sure, he’s a different man than the one we met during The Handmaid’s Tale Season 1, but he’s even more significantly changed than the man who welcomed June to Canada in The Handmaid’s Tale Season 4.

We’re back with a scene-by-scene recap and some fun commentary about Found Season 2 Episode 19, breaking down all the dramatic fun of this installment. You can also check out our Found Season 2 Episode 19 Review.

Is Jamie growing on us? Maybe so, yes, and he and Margaret working through some of their issues is a solid development of the hour. But, of course, it’s the Sir reveal that’s particularly engrossing.

Let’s dive into it!

(Matt Miller/NBC)

Apparently, there’s no rest for the wicked indeed, as Found opens with quite a shocking scene: someone mysterious waking Sir up out of his sleep and carting him away!

Excuse me, where are they going with my emotionally unhinged baddie? After a prison brawl and ass-kicking, he needs some rest.

Found Season 2 Episode 19 Teases New Sir Mystery; Who Is He Working For?
Image
Why do the Feds have Sir?

Just when it feels like we’ve resolved one mystery or arc, Found Season 2 Episode 19 introduces another one, as the lingering question after the hour is what deal did Sir strike to get whisked away to the cushier confinements of federal prison?

On the plus, while Jamie had a rough introduction, he’s slowly becoming an endearing addition to the team.

(Matt Miller/NBC) Found’s Missing Persons Case Was the Least Interesting Part of the Hour

I have to be honest with you guys: if not for the fact that I literally had a full Found Season 2 Episode 19 Recap I wrote to keep up with the hour, I wouldn’t have remembered anything about this case otherwise.

NCIS: Origins Season 1 Episode 16 Has Set the Stage to Bring the Entire Series Full Circle
Image
At this point, it’s our own fault for being so surprised every time NCIS: Origins delivers another incredible episode. The series is not wasting a bit of potential from its stable of fantastic characters.

For one, what seemed like a series of coincidental episodes has become a full-blown strategy of character-centric stories. My God, does it work.

NCIS: Origins Season 1 Episode 16, “Bugs,” was a perfect mixture of lighthearted humor, thrilling mystery, and gripping emotional drama.

(Robert Voets/CBS)

All that was missing were a few jump scares and a romantic moment to have run the entire gamut of broadcast TV genres.

Not for nothing, but was anyone else surprised by the amount of casual comedy on this episode?

Why was everyone eating so much? You know those actors have to take a bite every time they re-do the scene, right?

Paradise Season 1 Episode 2 Delivers Answers Galore, Solidifying Itself as 2025’s Best New Drama
Image
When Paradise Season 1 Episode 1 unveiled an intricate mystery about who murdered Cal Bradford, I had some significant concerns about whether the series could keep up the pace.

Thankfully, Paradise Season 1 Episode 2 expanded the world and the lore to give answers about why this last-chance safe haven exists, and more importantly, who’s pulling the strings.

Julianne Nicholson has been on our screens for the better part of two decades, and she’s turning in awards-worthy work as the tantalizing Sinatra.

(Hulu/Screenshot)

It was evident from the beginning that Sinatra would be a pivotal player on Paradise. Still, I didn’t expect to learn her backstory and how her tenacity to make her late son’s idea of heaven became the setting for the entire series.

Sinatra has this icy-cold exterior and doesn’t allow many people into her life, which makes sense given what she’s been through.

NCIS Season 22 Episode 17 Recap: Killer Instinct Hits and Misses

“Killer Instinct” delivered one of the most chaotic cases of the season, blending serial killers, encrypted hitmen, and a side of marital tension served up over Coq au Vin.

It did it all while giving McGee a personal stake that finally pushed him out of the shadows and back into the spotlight.

The Pitt Set the Blueprint in Nuanced Character Work With Only Four Episodes
Image
I cannot think of the last television character I felt instantly attached to quite like The Pitt‘s Jack Abbot.

It doesn’t hurt that one of my all-time favorite actors, Shawn Hatosy, portrays him, but truthfully, it’s so much more than that.

As someone who profoundly enjoys character-driven stories or just vibrant characters, The Pitt expertly does something that many series struggle to do even when they have the time to do it: they nail the execution of multifaceted television characters.

(Warrick Page/Max)

What’s remarkable about this series is that even guest stars, those characters who barely have screen time, have such rich characterization and gravitas that they linger in your mind.

On most shows, background characters and extras are just that: placeholders and fillers rounding out a scene, warm bodies to create a larger arc, or focus on a more pronounced character.

In most series,...

Doc’s Jon-Michael Ecker Plays Good and Bad Well, But He Plays This Best of All
Image
By now, the Doc withdrawals have set in as the buzzworthy first season wrapped, and we’re left waiting until the fall before we can see our favorite characters again.

Of course, some of our favorite characters were worse off than others by the season’s conclusion, one of whom was Doc’s Golden Boy and all-around stellar person, Jake Heller.

The Doc Season 1 Finale left fans reeling, but anyone who has followed Jon-Michael Ecker’s prolific career knows that whether he’s expertly playing complex baddies or wholesome good guys, one thing remains consistent: his characters are often unlucky in love.

(Courtesy of Fox) Chicago Fire Leaves Grainger Against Impossible Odds

Whether he’s a guest star, recurring, or main, Ecker has a knack for playing guys who end up on the wrong side of a love triangle or engage in complicated romances that don’t always pan out.

The Hunting Party Season 1 Report Card: Which Serial Killers or Mysteries Resonated the Best?
Image
While procedurals are on every network, The Hunting Party strived to be different by including overall mystery arcs and weekly serial killers.

It intrigued viewers immediately how these dangerous inmates escaped the Pit, the Pit’s actual purpose, and why their treatments typically worsened the inmates’ killing spree.

The Hunting Party Season 1 had many things working for it, including fantastic team dynamics. However, it only had average ratings and ended on an emotional cliffhanger, so we’re praying it gets renewed for a second season.

(David Astorga/NBC)

Let’s rank and review its best and least satisfying moments.

Best Character: Bex Henderson

It shouldn’t surprise anyone that we voted Bex Henderson the Mvp of The Hunting Party. While Hassani and Ag Mallory brought her in in some ways, Bex was the heart of the team.

She understood how to approach the victims’ families and how to profile these killers.

Matlock Should Be the Framework for Future TV Reboots
Image
Future TV reboots should take a page out of Matlock’s book.

The reimagined version of the 1980s classic Andy Griffith vehicle is one of the biggest hits of the 2024-2025 season.

One of its selling points is that it’s not a true reboot, but there’s far more to what makes it a success than that — and writers of other potential remakes and reimaginings could learn a lot from it.

Is Days of Our Lives Finally Returning to Responsible Trauma Storytelling with Sami’s Long-Overdue Story?

I’m in tears after Sami’s conversation with Johnny.

Alison Sweeney and Carson Boatman are fantastic actors, and Sami’s explanation for 30+ years of bad behavior was as emotional as logical.

Best of all, Days of Our Lives‘ long-overdue Sami story respected both Sami’s legacy and the complex emotions behind most of her behavior, giving me hope for the soap’s future.

Sami had to explain to Johnny why she had taken Ej back after he had raped her, leading to Johnny’s conception, and it was heartbreaking.

This gorgeous, vibrant woman never told Johnny the truth about how his conception because she was afraid that he and others would see her as weak and pathetic.

Tracker Season 2 Episode 16 Puts Colter in the Snow with No Service, No Plan, and a Family from Your Nightmares

Tracker Season 2 Episode 16 was a wild one, but that’s come to be expected with Tracker.

Tracker prides itself on being anything but ordinary.

Sure, we get cases of the week, which is a formula as old as time, but we’re not getting your average missing person every week. They deal with cases that fall far outside the box, which sets it apart from most other action dramas on television.

Diane Farr’s Sharon Is Ready to Tear Constance Zimmer A New One on Fire Country Season 3 Episode 17 “Fire and Ice”

Well, looks who is back on Fire Country. I knew the third season wouldn’t waste a talent like Constance Zimmer. These writers are really pulling out all the stops to elevate this show.

And kudos to the hands behind the series for keeping things consistent. It really seemed like the show was going to fall back on old habits a few times throughout “Fire and Ice.”

I have to hand it to Fire Country Season 3 Episode 17. The arguments and drama felt real and not forced. The episodic case’s plotting was genius and possibly had an unexpected effect on some viewers.

(Sergei Bachlakov/CBS)

The bottom line is that this has been the best season of Fire Country, and, ironically, I hope whatever spark lit a fire under the writers never dies down.

For one, when have we ever been bigger fans of Miss Gabriela Perez than we have...

Chicago Pd Season 12 Episode 18 Spoilers: Can Voight & Chapman Take Reid Down?
Image
Good grief, Shawn Hatosy has to be the hardest-working man in television right now.

And it’s well-deserved because the man is truly one of the greats. Fortunately, for fans of the actor, The Pitt and Rescue Hi-Surf may have wrapped up their seasons, but we’re still getting some quality time with the man on Chicago Pd.

After a brief hiatus, we’re back with Chicago Pd Season 12 Episode 18. We’re returning to the big Reid arc as Voight and Chapman work double time trying to take this man down.

(Elizabeth Sisson/NBC) Reid Has Voight in a Vice Grip

It’s been frustrating to see that Reid has Voight in a vice grip. Still, one of the season’s pitfalls is that Reid is this significant threat looming over the season. Still, it’s so infrequently and inconsistently covered that it sometimes loses momentum.

Nevertheless, Reid is this...

Image
Doc wrapped up its first season on March 18, ending with the surprise departure of Scott Wolf’s Dr. Richard Miller. However, recent interviews indicate that the Season 1 finale may not be the last that fans have seen of Scott Wolf’s Dr. Richard Miller.

In a recent interview with Deadline, Doc creator and executive producer Barbie Kligman revealed, "Here’s what I’ll say. We love Scott and we love the way he’s played Richard. So I don’t think this is the last we’ll be seeing of him. But I’m not giving you more."

Sharing a similar sentiment, Wolf told TV Insider, "The show is very much about redemption and second chances. So I believe Richard has a second life."

‘Doc’ Finale Audience Up 9% Over Series Premiere, Ending First Season On High Note For Fox
Image
Doc concluded its first season on a high note for Fox.

The finale of the freshman medical drama, which aired Tuesday, secured 2.4M total live + same-day viewers, per Nielsen, marking a 9% increase from the series premiere. In the 18-49 demo, the finale skyrocketed 56% over the premiere to a 0.28 L+Sd rating.

The demo success is particularly noteworthy, since its the strongest 18-49 growth for any major broadcast network scripted series, drama or new show, over the course of its premiere season since Fox’s Empire in 2015.

Averaging 2.3M live + same-day viewers and a 0.24 18-49 demo rating over the course of the first season, Doc is Fox’s highest-rated and most-watched new drama this season. Ultimately, episodes have swelled to an average of around 7.2M multi-platform viewers, more than tripling the L+Sd audience.

Doc has been quite the success story for Fox. Amid a swath of new medical dramas on broadcast,...

‘Doc’ Star Molly Parker on That Satisfying Finale Twist, the Show’s Love Triangle and Looking Forward to Season 2
Image
Spoiler Alert: This interview contains spoilers from “…Must Come Down,” the Season 1 finale of Fox’s “Doc.”

Molly Parker never expected to lead a project that she considers as mainstream as a network procedural. In her 30 years in the business, the Canadian actor has tended to gravitate toward the margins, making a name for herself as an indie darling and a strong supporting player in the early years of prestige TV.

But in spring 2023, just days before the writers went on strike in Hollywood, Parker took a meeting with “Doc” executive producers Barbie Kligman and Hank Steinberg about headlining their new gender-flipped Fox adaptation of a popular Italian medical drama. At the time, Parker could not bear the thought of spending time away from her teenage son — who was then going into his junior year in high school in Los Angeles — in order to shoot a months-long project in Toronto.

Doc Season 1, Episode 9 Review: The Show's Most Bizarre Ending

Quick LinksDoc Season 1, Episode 9 Has Some of the Season's Best CasesDoc Episode 9 Officially Gives up on Dr. Richard MillerDoc Forces Its Love Triangle Back Into the Picture

The following contains major spoilers from Doc Season 1, Episode 9, "What Goes Up...," which debuted Tuesday, March 11 on Fox.

Doc Season 1, Episode 9, "What Goes Up..." is on track to be the Fox show's best episode -- until the final few minutes remind viewers of the series' previous shortcomings. The two cases of the week are interesting and well-cast, and the actors do some solid work. But then the script just chooses drama for drama's sake, and it all falls apart.

"What Goes Up..." primarily follows Dr. Amy Larsen on her first day as an actual doctor, since she passed the medical boards again in Season 1, Episode 8, "Man Plans." Amy discovers that her first patient is Tj Coleman's father, while viewers learn the role that Amy played in Tj's past.
