The new original series Funny Or Die’S High Science will debut Thursday, April 20 on discovery+ and HBO Max. The series stars Matt Klinman, and Zack Poitras, featuring Paul Bettany as the voice of futuristic, talking bong “Dr. Oh” who will take Matt and Zack on psychedelic trips of scientific discovery to blow their minds with real facts from the cutting edge of human knowledge. Episodes will become available to stream at the same time and the series will premiere two episodes weekly beginning April 26 on Discovery Channel.

Apparently, it’s time to “get high on science.”

Discovery+ and HBO Max are debuting Funny or Die’s High Science, a hijinks-filled docuseries that focuses on “real facts from the cutting edge of human knowledge.”

Debuting April 20, High Science stars Matt Klinman and Zack Poitras as two stoner lab assistants who get high on science, while Paul Bettany voices the futuristic, talking bong “Dr. Oh” who takes the duo on psychedelic trips of scientific discovery. Episodes will become available to stream on HBO Max and Discovery+ and the series will premiere two episodes weekly beginning April 26 on Discovery Channel.

Nora Kirkpatrick and Funny or Die are teaming on The Coop, an eight-episode interactive series for Eko. Production is underway with casting to begin this week.

Created by Kirkpatrick, who directs all episodes, the first season of The Coop is described as Big Brother meets an Agatha Christie novel. After a housemate on a reality TV show is mysteriously murdered on New Year’s Eve, you, ‘the viewer’ will have to decide which of the remaining cast mates killed him, and why they did it. ‘The viewer’ is an integral part of the story, given the responsibility of choosing what path to take and how the story will continue.

Kirkpatrick developed The Coop with Kate Lilly, former director of digital for Funny Or Die, who remains a producer on the project. Funny Or Die’s Adrien Finkel is a producer.

That was one of the toughest decisions being made Sunday night at the Funny or Die offices in Los Angeles, where the cast and crew behind the “Game of Thrones” recap series “Gay of Thrones” had gathered, as they had for the past four weeks this summer, to watch the HBO blockbuster drama and (lovingly) tear it apart.

By 5 p.m. the following day, the latest installment was online — an awe-inspiring turnaround, given the Emmy-nominated series’s dense implementation of clips, visual jokes and actor-driven improv, cut down to a tight runtime that rarely exceeds five minutes.
