Scooter Braun in Justin Bieber's Believe (2013)

The Taylor Swift Movie That IMDb Considers One Of The Worst Ever Made
Image
It's not news that "Cats" is a bad movie. Directed by Tom Hooper, the movie uses Andrew Lloyd Webber's inscrutable and mostly plotless Broadway musical as its source material, and to say it's jarring, bizarre, and outright terrible is an understatement. Also, Taylor Swift is in it.

Let me backtrack for a moment and say this: The Broadway musical "Cats" is not my personal cup of tea, but I'm not here to crap all over it. It's one of the highest-grossing musicals in history, and to be absolutely fair, the fact that the stage version is plotless isn't a technically bad thing. Making it into a movie, though, was a patently terrible idea, and I say that with no due respect to Hooper ... and unfortunately for Swift and her co-stars Dame Judi Dench, Sir Ian McKellen, Oscar-winner Jennifer Hudson, and, uh, James Corden, it's a part of their creative histories now.

Scooter Braun on Taylor Swift Fans: “They Made the Horrible Miscalculation That I Care”
Image
Music executive Scooter Braun has a response for Taylor Swift fans still angry that he purchased the master recordings of her music catalog and sold them for a profit. He simply doesn’t care.

“You know, me even talking about this now, there’s gonna be… They’re gonna be yelling and screaming and this, that and the other,” Braun said on a recent episode of Danielle Robay’s Question Everything podcast. “You can’t say anything right, and it is what it is. My response to that is they made the horrible miscalculation that I care. You know, I don’t know those people out there. And if I met them in person and they needed my help, as a stranger, I would help them.”

He continued, “I think people forget that when you have a fan base that big and 10,000 people are yelling at you, it feels like the world is ending,...

Scooter Braun’s Response to Still-Angry Taylor Swift Fans on Catalog Purchase: “They Made the Horrible Miscalculation That I Care”
Image
Scooter Braun has a message for Swifties, who are still angry with him over the handling of Taylor Swift’s master recordings from six years ago.

The music executive and former music manager made a recent appearance on Danielle Robay’s Question Everything podcast, where he opened up about the hate he still receives from Swift’s fan base years after the original sale of her catalog to Braun’s Ithaca Holdings when he acquired her old record label Big Machine Label Group in 2019. The following year, Ithaca sold Swift’s masters to Shamrock Capital for a reported $300 million, which the singer infamously criticized, leading her to rerecord her albums.

“You know, me even talking about this now, there’s gonna be … They’re gonna be yelling and screaming and this, that and the other,” Braun said. “You can’t say anything right, and it is what it is. My...

Scooter Braun Addresses Speculation That Taylor Swift's 'Vigilante Sh-t' is About His Divorce from Yael Cohen
Image
Scooter Braun is finally addressing speculation that Taylor Swift‘s song “Vigilante Sh-t” is about his divorce.

When the 35-year-old Grammy-winning singer first released the song from her Midnights album in 2022, many fans theorized that the lyrics was inspired by 44-year-old record executive’s divorce from Yael Cohen.

Justin Bieber's New Flop Album Is Already Dropping Down Global Streaming Charts
Image
Justin Bieber’s seventh studio album, Swag, dropped unexpectedly on July 11, 2025. Despite a strong debut at #1 on both the Global and U.S. Apple Music and Spotify charts, the album has seen a sharp drop in daily streams. Following its release, Bieber’s surprise album occupied the top seven spots on Spotify’s U.S. chart, with the lead single, “Daisies,” hitting No.1 and reaching 8.5 million streams on day one. As of July 14, 2025, though, it remains the only track from the album still in the Top 10 and has dropped down to No. 5.

As per The Hollywood Reporter, despite the streaming drops, Swag is still projected to move between 150,000 to 175,000 album-equivalent units in its first tracking week. While there were no physical copies of the album available at launch, sources report that these numbers would mark a digital debut strong enough to secure the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200. Comparatively, Bieber’s last album,...

Will Justin Bieber Land a No. 1 Debut With ‘Swag?’
Image
Justin Bieber’s Swag, the superstar’s first album in over four years, is on track for a solid opening week as the album is taking over the daily charts on Spotify and Apple Music this weekend.

Sources familiar with the matter tell The Hollywood Reporter that the projections for the album — his seventh full-length — are estimated at about 150,000 to 160,000 album equivalent units for week one, while Hits magazine is projecting 175,000 units.

Those estimates would yield a respectable debut, particularly given that Swag’s week one numbers likely won’t include any physical sales. Justice, Bieber’s next-most-recent album, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard chart back in 2021 with 154,000 equivalent units, including 30,000 physical sales.

Current estimates could also keep Bieber competitive for a No. 1 debut on Billboard’s 200 Albums chart, where Morgan Wallen has dominated the past two months; the country singer is projected to move more than 150,000 units this week.

Justin Bieber’s ‘Swag’: A Track-by-Track Breakdown
Image
Justin Bieber’s back, and he’s “standing on business” with Swag.

A lot has changed for the superstar in the time since Bieber’s last Justice had topped the charts in 2021. He’d suffered notable health issues after a Ramsay Hunt syndrome diagnosis, canceled a concert tour, made a $200 million sale for his publishing catalog, had his first child, and severed from his longtime manager Scooter Braun.

Swag clocks in at 54 minutes on 21 tracks (though three of those are interludes featuring conversations between Bieber and online comedian Druski), with R&Bieber is full effect for much of it, leaning into the genre’s sweet spots (reverb-heavy keys), while also peppering the album with hip-hop, pop and some gospel. He’s both earnest and not taking himself too seriously on the project, (calling an album Swag in the year 2025 is itself a bold choice) with Bieber flipping between love songs...

Justin Bieber Settles Multi-Million Pound Debt with Scooter Braun, Avoids Legal Battle After Years of Disputes Over Commissions and Advances

Justin Bieber has finally settled a long-standing multi-million-pound financial dispute with his former manager Scooter Braun, bringing to a close one of the most tense chapters in his recent career. The resolution comes after months of quiet negotiations and growing speculation about the Canadian singer’s legal future.

The conflict began when Bieber received a $40 million advance from the promoter Aeg for his “Justice” tour. However, the early cancellation of the tour forced the singer to repay $26 million. At that point, Hybe – the company led by Scooter Braun – stepped in and covered the debt owed to Aeg. Bieber agreed to repay Hybe within ten years, but made only one payment before breaching the agreement.

Now, sources close to the case confirm that Justin has paid off the full $26 million, thereby avoiding potential legal action.

Reason Why Blake Lively Wants to Delay Justin Baldoni Trial Again Sounds Ridiculous to Billy Bush
Image
Blake Lively is supposed to appear for a deposition in the Justin Baldoni trial on July 17, and she is reportedly trying to delay her appearance. It is one of the crucial appearances from the actress that could determine the future of this ongoing legal issue between Lively and Baldoni.

At this deposition, Lively will be facing questions from Baldoni’s attorney, Brian Freedman, and she will have to present her mounting evidence against her co-star in court (via TMZ). However, reports suggested that she asked for a delay of an additional six weeks to review 50,000 hours of raw footage from her film, It Ends With Us.

Billy Bush, who has been covering the drama for a long time and supports Team Baldoni, has slammed the actress’s attempts to delay her deposition. He found the reason for the actress’s delay to be ridiculous. Bush called the deposition the “trial...

Justin Bieber Releases Surprise New Album Swag: Stream
Image
And just like that, Justin Bieber dropped his seventh studio album, Swag.

The new album album, released via Def Jam, was announced just yesterday (July 10th) via billboards posted in various cities around the world, including Los Angeles, New York City and Reykjavik, Iceland. Bieber shared a host of videos and photos on his Instagram account, including some that revealed the album’s 21-song tracklist.

Swag is the first new Bieber album since his 2021 full-length, Justice. Guest contributors include Lil B, Dijon, Gunna, mk.gee, Daniel Caesar, Sexxy Redd, Druski, and Cash Cobain.

The album arrives during a tough year for the pop star; just last month, he took to Instagram to report feeling “broken,” writing, “Don’t you think if I could have fixed myself I would have already?”

That admission followed a Bieber representative issuing a statement denying that the pop star was ever a victim of Sean “Diddy” Combs,...

Justin Bieber to Release Seventh Album on Friday (Exclusive)
Image
Justin Bieber is about to drop a new album, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. Def Jam will release his long-awaited seventh album on Friday, July 11, sources reveal.

A representative for Bieber didn’t reply to request for comment. Def Jam declined to comment.

As THR reported, Bieber headed to Iceland in late April to put finishing touches on the project, his first since 2021’s Justice. His Nordic getaway hosted jam sessions and allowed the pop superstar to ”vibe out” with a number of musical collaborators, an insider reveals.

As of Thursday, a billboard in Iceland that depicts Bieber with the word “Swag” is starting to go viral online. Presumably, that could be the name of the album though it’s unclear at press time. The same billboard went up on Sunset Blvd. in Los Angeles on Thursday.

Billboard of Justin Bieber with the word “Swag” has been spotted in Reykjavik,...

Candace Owens Unveils Her Private Texts About Blake Lively After She Gets Subpoenaed Over Alleged Smear Campaign
Image
Candace Owens pulled out her texts on a live podcast after she got subpoenaed by Blake Lively over her smear campaign allegations against Justin Baldoni. Earlier, Owens, along with other podcasters and interviewers, received a subpoena from Lively’s lawyers.

The actress’s attorneys claimed that Baldoni and the Wayfarer team orchestrated the smear campaign via chat sites like Reddit with the help of content creators. They alleged, “The team would then ‘amplify’ that content by sharing it with larger outlets to increase negative sentiment toward Ms. Lively.”

Owens had already responded to the news of the subpoena released by TMZ. She shared in a statement to People:

Scooter Braun Steps Away From CEO Role at Hybe

Scooter Braun is transitioning his role at Hybe, the South Korean entertainment giant, moving from CEO of Hybe America to an advisory position that will have him joining the Hybe Board of Directors as a director and a senior adviser to chairman Bang Si-Hyuk. The move marks the end of a five-year run at Hybe, which is home to such K-pop acts as BTS and Katseye.

The news was announced to Hybe staffers on Monday when Braun dialed in from his vacation to notify employees that the move was “in the works for quite some time,” according to a source who adds that the five-year plan was initiated with the sale of Braun’s Ithaca Holdings to Hybe in 2021. Braun will remain active in current Hybe projects, like the just-launched girl group Katseye. Braun intimated that he “isn’t going anywhere” and will “still help guide” the artists on the Hybe roster.

Hugh Jackman Avoids Blake Lively Question While He Deals With the Nasty Divorce From Deborra-Lee Furness

Hugh Jackman was seen avoiding Blake Lively questions! Kjersti Flaa from the infamous “congrats on your little bump” interview, who is also covering the whole legal drama in detail, received a new video from the same photographer who recently captured Jay Leno dismissing the idea of Blake Lively as a motorcycle passenger, saying “anyone but her”.

This time, the focus was on Hugh Jackman. The photographer seemed determined to get Jackman to say something, anything, about Lively, and spent the day trailing him around New York City trying.

Across three different encounters, the question was repeated in slightly different forms, always circling back to Blake Lively and her recent legal victory. Whether Jackman was walking into a building or on a sidewalk, the photographer was ready with a camera and the same persistent line of questioning.

Despite the effort, Jackman remained silent throughout. It was clear he had no intention of engaging,...

The 48-year-old actor and the 27-year-old actress were seen walking the streets of Venice, Italy on Saturday afternoon (June 28) after attending the Bezos-Sanchez Wedding the night before.

Orlando and Sydney were joined by a group of friends, including Tom Brady (not pictured), Karlie Kloss and her husband Joshua Kushner, and Scooter Braun. They joined the newlyweds at a private luncheon following the wedding.

Everything That Has Happened Between Justin Bieber and Scooter Braun
Image
Justin Bieber and Scooter Braun’s story was a classic music industry fairytale: An ambitious young manager plucks a young prodigy out of obscurity and makes him a star. Their lives and careers have been intertwined for nearly two decades, with their names and careers synonymous with one another well beyond most artist-manager relationships. Thee wasn’t a project Bieber pursued, music or otherwise, that Braun wasn’t involved in, while each of Braun’s clients outside of Bieber would get a direct boost from one of the 21st century’s biggest stars.

How will the Grammys tackle the TikTokers? Alex Warren and Addison Rae look to turn chart success into Best New Artist bids
Image
As of June 2025, the No. 1 song in both the U.S. and the U.K. is “Ordinary”, a hit penned by Alex Warren, an artist likely unknown to millennial and older audiences.

Meanwhile, the top debut on the Billboard 200 for the week of June 16 was Addison, by a buzzing singer you might’ve heard of, Addison Rae. If you are younger, you likely know both Warren and Rae very well, as they are some of the biggest influencers of the pre-covid-era TikTok, who are now experiencing parallel rises to music fame, both plausible contenders to win the Grammy for Best New Artist. But their rise to music stardom, while unique in its way, also responds to a bigger trend throughout this century: the primacy of social media.

Five Finger Death Punch Inspired by Taylor Swift in Re-Recording Earlier Music
Image
Five Finger Death Punch have found themselves in a similar situation as Taylor Swift was in before she recently acquired her master recordings. The metal band is taking inspiration from the pop star by re-recording its earlier material.

As Billboard reports, early on in their career, Five Finger Death Punch entered into a record deal with Prospect Park. That label’s owner, Jeff Kwatinetz, recently sold the band’s masters without the band’s knowledge, leading Ffdp to start re-recording select songs from their catalog.

Swift famously re-recorded a number of her albums after her old record label Big Machine sold her masters to Scooter Braun. Last month, she paid roughly $360 million to gain ownership of all her masters.

Ffdp guitarist Zoltan Bathory remarked, “[Taylor Swift] could have gone into a costly lawsuit, or she could have felt sorry for herself. [Instead] she just sprung into action and did what she had to do.

Image
(Updated with more details) Blake Lively just had a major win in her multi-lawsuit, multi-million-dollar legal war with Justin Baldoni, and now Taylor Swift’s pal is opening up a brand-new battlefield with the Shake It Off star’s grand nemesis and his company.

Former mega-manager and very public Baldoni buddy Scooter Braun’s Hybe America is being subpoenaed in the sprawling case, I’ve learned. A notice of subpoena was sent today from Lively’s lawyers, with the first attempt to serve it set for Thursday.

Braun has been the CEO of the US arm of the K-Pop corporation Hybe since early 2023, about two years after his Ithaca Holdings merged with the Seoul-based parent company in a just over $1 billion deal.

This new subpoena seeks to hoover up any documents and information that...

Scooter Braun Admits He Has “a Lot of Guilt” After Working With “So Many Young Artists”
Image
Scooter Braun has opened up about the “guilt” he’s reeling from his long-standing career as a former artist manager.

During a recent interview on The Diary of a CEO, the former music manager admitted he feels guilty because he previously worked with a lot of young up-and-coming artists who had to grapple “being judged by the whole world at a very young age.”

“At this age, I feel a lot of guilt because I worked with so many young artists,” he said. “I hadn’t taken the time to look at myself or do the therapy myself until I was older, so I didn’t understand at 25, 27, 30 years old that they were coming from very unique backgrounds of their own stuff with their own families and their own childhood growing up this way and being seen by the whole world and being judged by the whole world at a very young age.

‘Reputation’ Surges Back Into Album Chart Top 5 After Taylor Swift’s Masters Victory
Image
Taylor Swift’s Reputation has slithered its way back into the Billboard 200 albums chart at Number Five after the musician announced that she finally owns her entire catalog of music. The record previously spent four weeks at Number One following its 2017 release and has racked up 349 total weeks on the chart. It’s also the one album Swift hasn’t finished re-recording, though she doesn’t really need to anymore.

Last week, pre-masters victory, Reputation sat at Number 78 on the chart. The surge, per Variety, is the result of a...

Taylor Swift’s Original Recordings Were Always Going to Be Better
Image
In the movies, one of the primary rules of time travel is that you don’t do anything that could cause a tear in the space-time continuum. Plot lines that move between the past, present, and future emphasize the fragility of choice. Back in 2021, Taylor Swift started building an alternate reality by dismantling her first six studio albums and repurposing them as part of an extensive re-recording process to regain ownership of her music. The question became, “What if we could do it all over again, even bigger?”

With the...

Inside Taylor Swift’s Victory — and Farewell to the Taylor’s Versions Era
Image
To get her music back, first Taylor Swift had to re-record it. After a consortium led by Scooter Braun bought the rights to the masters for her first six albums in 2019, much to Swift’s displeasure, she hatched a simple, if wildly labor-intensive plan: Make new Taylor’s Versions of her catalog available, and then ask her massive fanbase to stream them instead of the originals.

No one had ever tried anything like it before, but fans complied by the millions. The strategy worked exactly as intended, devaluing the masters...

Hailey Bieber’s Wealth Surpasses Husband Justin’s After She Sells Company For $1B & He Blows $300M From Catalog Sale
Image
Hailey Bieber sold her beauty brand, Rhode, to E.L.F. Beauty last week for a reported $1 billion, officially making her richer than her famous husband, Justin Bieber.

Justin sold his music catalog in 2020 for $300 million but quickly squandered it on reckless spending. He reportedly owes ex-manager Scooter Braun $8.8 million from an aborted tour.

But Hailey isn’t gloating yet. She remains dedicated to affordable skin-care solutions.

Rhode was launched in 2022 and only features 10 products, but it was a major breakout in the cosmetics world, netting $212 million in sales over the past year. Hailey will stay with Rhode as the chief creative officer and head of innovation, as well as serving as a strategic advisor to E.L.F. moving forward.

Among the cheaper products is the Cosrx Advanced Snail Mucin Glass Glow Hydrogel Masks, which Haley has shown off in several TikToks and costs about $15 for a pack of three.

The masks,...

Taylor Swift’s Old Album Streams More Than Double on Spotify After Catalog Deal
Image
Taylor Swift finally gained ownership of her first six albums in a momentous deal she announced to the world last Friday, and with the superstar officially reunited with her music, Spotify streams on her Big Machine-era recordings quickly skyrocketed that day.

According to figures Spotify shared with The Hollywood Reporter, streams on all of the original versions of her older albums at least doubled on Friday, May 30, compared to the albums’ average daily streams from April 1 through May 29. (Spotify didn’t disclose specific streaming numbers themselves, only percentage changes.)

Speak Now had the biggest individual spike, with streams rising 430 percent globally. Interestingly, Swift’s 2006 eponymous debut and 2017’s Reputation — neither of which have a “Taylor’s Version” released yet — came in second and third, as Taylor Swift streams jumped 220 percent, while Reputation streams rose 175 percent. Fearless climbed 160 percent, Red jumped 150 percent and 1989 got a 110 percent boost. Swift is one of...

Inside the Most Infamous Music Dispute Involving Taylor Swift and Scooter Braun: Explained
Image
The biggest music dispute of our times appears to have come to an end, as Taylor Swift regained ownership of the masters to her six earlier albums. It came after a five-year-long dispute, with things turning ugly between Swift and record executive Scooter Braun. The dispute was even the subject of a two-part docuseries on Max, Taylor Swift vs Scooter Braun: Bad Blood.

In 2019, Swift wrote an explosive letter on Tumblr, telling the world that her masters had been sold without her consultation. She accused Braun of being a bully, while the former music manager claimed that his purchase of the masters was very much legal. Swift had resorted to re-recording her albums before she could call the albums her own again.

Taylor Swift vs Justin Bieber Career Comparison: Albums, Music Rights, Net Worth, and Tours
Image
Taylor Swift and Justin Bieber are two names that have practically soundtracked a generation, don’t you agree? While one began her journey strumming heartbreak anthems in cowboy boots, the other danced his way from YouTube to global superstardom with a flip of his signature swoop.

From stadium tours to chart-topping albums, both artists have grown into full-blown music moguls, redefining pop culture on their own terms. Swift’s pen bleeds poetry and revenge, while Bieber’s voice matured from teen heartthrob to R&b-infused vulnerability.

Though they’ve had their ups, downs, reinventions, and reinvigoration, they’ve stayed massively relevant. But recently, the buzz isn’t just about their hits but their hustle. With Bieber selling his music catalog and Swift famously reclaiming hers, the internet’s got opinions. Swifties and Beliebers are at it again, but it’s all about the business this time.

All about Justin Bieber...
