New Delhi, Sep 4 (Ians) Actor Taher Shabbir, who is gearing up to play the negative part in the upcoming crime series ‘Kaala’, opened up about what intrigued him the most about his character, and how he understood him better.

The world of ‘Kaala’ is created and directed by Bejoy Nambiar. Taher plays the character of Naman Arya in the series.

Talking about the same, Taher said: “Naman is pure evil from the onset. It’s because he has never known any better. He’s a reflection of his upbringing and a highly disturbed one. Mumbai, Sept 1 (Ians) The trailer of the upcoming streaming series ‘Kaala’ was unveiled on Friday. It shows the workings of the parallel economy of black money as white money is turned to black through the process of reverse hawala.

It shows the intense pursuit of Ib Officer Ritwik (played by Avinash Tiwary) to dismantle a reverse hawala operation from its very core. The show also stars Rohan Vinod Mehra, Nivetha Pethuraj, Taher Shabbir, Jitin Gulati, Elisha Mayor and Hiten Tejwani.

The series has been created and directed by Bejoy Nambiar, who is known for his film ‘Shaitaan’.

Talking about the series, Bejoy Nambiar said: “’Kaala’ delves into the realm of reverse hawala, peeling back the layers of crime and betrayal. Behind closed doors, in the shadows, money takes on a life of its own, entangled with betrayal, revenge, and a hunger for power. Kaala is an unfiltered reflection of our reality.

Filmmaker Bejoy Nambiar, who is awaiting the release of his web-series ‘Kaala’, has shared that he felt overwhelmed with the sheer volume of work that a web-series entails because he is used to doing feature films.

The longer format of a show did bring along certain challenges for him but he quickly made his way around it and took it as a learning experience.

Bejoy spoke to the media on Thursday and said: “This experience of working on a series was quite new to me. I’m used to working on feature films but webseries is a different game altogether. What you will see on your screens (‘Kaala’) is a monumental work of three years put up by a team that I’m grateful to”.

‘Kaala’ touches upon a unique concept of reverse hawala – converting white money to black as opposed to the regular practice of making the black money white.

Mumbai, Aug 31 (Ians) Actor Taher Shabbir, who is gearing up to play the negative part in the upcoming crime series ‘Kaala’, has shared that he never judges the right and wrong of his characters. For him, it’s about how much he can connect with the character to portray it with authenticity which eventually makes the character compelling enough for the audience.

The actor spoke to the media on Thursday and spoke about his character of Naman Arora: “I don’t look at his characters through the lens of protagonist or antagonist.”

Instead, the actor mentioned that to sketch a riveting performance an actor has to defend their character and its actions.

He further mentioned: “The trick is to defend the character, when you do that, you empathise with the character, and when you empathise with the character you become the character which automatically lends credibility and authenticity to the performance.

Two time Filmfare winner Ashutosh Rana looks every bit fierce as he plays the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb in magnum opus web series Chhatrasal. The series is on floors and along with Ashutosh Rana, actor Jitin Gulati will be seen playing the titular role of Chhatrasal. Mumbai, Sep 21: Filmmaker Gurmmeet Singh, who is busy promoting his film "Warning", says 80 percent of the film was shot in the South Pacific Ocean.

"We have shot 80 percent of the film in South Pacific Ocean," Singh told Ians about the movie, which is said to have been extensively shot underwater.

Directed by Gurmmeet Singh and co-produced by Sunil Lulla, "Warning 3D" is a journey of seven friends through a life threatening crisis. Starring young actors Santosh Barmola, Suzana Rodrigues, Varun Sharma, Manjari Phadnis, Jitin Gulati, Sumit Suri and Madhurima Tulii, the movie will release Sep 27 in 3D.

The characters in Anubhav Sinha’s soon-to-be-released Warning 3D may have not paid heed to the warnings, but the producer sure did take heavy precautions during the shoot of this edge-of-the-seat survival film.

Shot in Fiji, the unpredictable deep cloudy waters tell a different story about the deceptive tranquillity of Pacific Ocean.
