Biography

Born and raised in Bangladesh till age 19, Shaan Rahman now resides in Vancouver BC in pursuit of further acting training and work in film, TV and theatre. Having studied math, physics and performance arts through his life, Shaan is a scientist who dreams and an artist who rationalizes.

During his training on the west of coast, Shaan has had the opportunity to work with contemporary Canadian professionals in the field like Michael Shamata, David Ferry and Daniel MacIvor. He has worked with Ferry and MacIvor on the world premiere of MacIvor's "Inside" (2011). He has been part of award winning productions in the Victoria Fringe Festival as well as award winning independent web series and films produced on Vancouver Island and has received the Best Performance award at the 2009 UV Sunscreen Student Film Festival.

Recently graduated with a BFA from the Acting Specialist program at the University of Victoria, Shaan has moved to Vancouver BC brimming with desire and excitement to perform in this beautiful, energetic city; a desire matched by his professional and ethical conduct in the arts industry.
