Newly-introduced American network Freeform has wasted no time preparing its next wave of programming. As well as prepping Marvel's Cloak And Dagger, they're also working on a remake of the E4 superhero series Misfits.

It's one heck of a gamble to go for an hour long Doctor Who Christmas special, where all but a few minutes at the end turn out to be a dream. Yet that's just what Steven Moffat pulled off with his far improved Yuletide episode, Last Christmas.

As he confirmed at the Q&A after the press screening, everything you see in the episode, from the first scene onwards, is strictly a dream, up until the finale, and the placing of Last Christmas' final tangerine. A poignant tangerine, that also seems to suggest that Santa is real. That's a mystery solved, then.

This year's special has been penned again by Steven Moffat, with Paul Wilmhurst directing. Guest stars? They would be Nick Frost, Michael Troughton, Nathan McMullen, Natalie Gumede and Faye Marsay. Peter Capaldi, of course will be reprising the role of the Doctor. And as this clip confirms, Clara - played by Jenna Coleman - is back as well.

The short clip features no sign of companion Jenna Coleman, last seen bidding farewell to the Doctor, although she is confirmed to appear in the festive special. Instead, this first footage shows Peter Capaldi who asks, “It’s Christmas at the North Pole. Here’s one we’re not quite sure what to make of – Doctor Who's Clara, Jenna Coleman, has been discussing the 2014 Doctor Who Christmas special.

“It’s written in sections and it’s about dreaming – what is real and what is not”, she explained while chatting to In Style. As we already know, she also mentioned that “Father Christmas is there – played by Nick Frost!”. He popped up in the trailer, here.

Nick Frost is one of three guest stars that will be appearing in the upcoming Doctor Who Christmas special. Frost is best known for his work with Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright on films such as Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and The World's End. The guy is a very funny and talented individual, and it's going to be so cool to see him enter the world of Doctor Who. The other two actors joining the special are Nathan McMullen (Misfits) and Michael Troughton, who played the second Doctor in the 1960s.

We're not even at the half-way stage of Doctor Who series 8 yet, but already, we're looking ahead to the Christmas special. It's been filming over the past couple of weeks, albeit mainly behind closed doors. As such, details of the guest stars this year has been thin on the ground.

Until now, at least.

Three names have now been confirmed. Firstly, there's Nick Frost, who needs little introduction. Nor, to fans of Misfits, will Nathan McMullen. And in a lovely touch, Michael Troughton, the son of second Doctor Patrick Troughton, has also been added to the cast. Troughton's book on his father's life is well worth picking up.

Anticipation for the last ever series of E4’s Misfits is pretty high and, before the premiere this week, we were lucky enough to visit the set just after filming for series five had wrapped up for good. After a quick walk around the set, we picked the brains of Joseph Gilgun (Rudy), Karla Crome (Jess), Nathan McMullen (Finn), Matt Stokoe (Alex) and Natasha O’Keeffe (Abbey) – and they had some interesting titbits about what we can expect from upcoming episodes. Who will die? Will we be seeing any returning cast members? And will we ever find out what’s going on with Abbey?

The last to join the cast back in the third series, Joseph Gilgun is not the longest-serving misfit, but he hasn’t been lonely. The show, undoubtedly keen to replicate Nathan and Simon’s popular ‘bromance’, gave Rudy a friend to torment, as Nathan McMullen’s Finn landed in the community centre a whole year later. We spoke to Gilgun and McMullen about what we can expect from their characters in the finale season, possible returning characters and how it all ends...

The award-winning drama Misfits returns for the fifth and final time at 10pm on Wednesday 23rd October.

The series marks the first anniversary of the storm, and the gang have to up their game if they're going to tackle some real-life, A-grade, superpowered vigilantes.

The final series sees the return of:

Karla Crome as Jess. Having had her heart broken by Alex ‘the handsome barman’ in Series 4, Jess is now more determined than ever that she won’t let her vulnerability show. But despite her cool exterior, an unlikely liaison is on the horizon that takes her completely by surprise.

Joseph Gilgun as Rudy. In the final series of Misfits, Rudy 2 discovers a support group for people with super powers, and once there he is encouraged by fellow attendees to stop taking flak from Rudy 1 and stand on his own two feet. A trailer for the final series of E4 comedy-drama Misfits has been released.

The 20-second teaser clip features flashes of action from forthcoming episodes, as well as a nod to the storm that gave the group of young offenders supernatural powers.

Characters Rudy (Joseph Gilgun), Jess (Karla Crome), Finn (Nathan McMullen), Alex (Matt Stokoe) and Abby (Natasha O'Keeffe) are all set to return for the show's final run, which will play out over eight 60-minute episodes.

Roberto Troni, Channel 4 drama commissioning editor, has previously described the conclusion to the drama as "one final glorious ride".

"[Creator] Howard [Overman] and co have some Big plans for the last series," he said.

"Like the characters in the show, it won't be going quietly."...

E4 has confirmed that Misfits will end after the soon-to-be-filmed series five, which is due on air in autumn 2013...

After five series, the launch of numerous careers in front of and behind the camera, and an identity so strong we'll still be talking about it long after DVD box-sets have been replaced by cerebro-retinal implants, E4's Misfits deserves a Viking funeral more than it does talk of having been "axed". Leaving that legacy behind is no mean feat, so it's with a sad, respectful salute that we report the show is due to end after the soon-to-be-filmed fifth series.

Misfits has started filming its fifth and final series on E4.

Howard Overman's teen drama, about a group of young offenders who obtain supernatural powers, will air for the last time later this year. The fifth series will feature eight 60-minute episodes.

The characters Rudy (Joseph Gilgun), Jess (Karla Crome), Finn (Nathan McMullen), Alex (Matt Stokoe) and Abby (Natasha O'Keeffe) will all be involved in the show's last run. The new series will mark the first anniversary of the storm that gave the group powers.

Murray Ferguson, chief executive of Clerkenwell Films, said: "Misfits was a bold and confident commission that backed original ideas and new talent, quickly becoming a hit with its audience on E4 and around the world.

"It's been great to produce a show that has been able to innovate on screen and online, and that broke new ground premiering with huge success on Hulu in America.

When Series 3 of the British science fiction comedy drama Misfits came to an end this time last year, it was difficult to imagine what could happen next and which characters would even return if the series were to continue. With the revelation that most of the cast would not be reprising their roles in this new series, and that the series would instead be led by original member Curtis (Nathan Stewart-Jarrett), recent additions Rudy (Joseph Gilgun) and Seth (Matthew McNulty), and new characters Jess (Karla Crome) and Finn (Nathan McMullen), it could either pick up quite suitably, or, more than likely, could go completely downhill. Fortunately, whilst the series will never be as good without its original cast members together, it worked out quite well.

X Files and Millennium writer-producer Frank Spotnitz is to unveil his new BBC suspense thriller Hunted at this weekend's McM London Comic Con.

Spotnitz and cast members will host a panel at 3pm on Friday, October 26.

Set in the world of international espionage, Hunted is produced by Kudos Film for BBC One and HBO's Cinemax channel.

"Misfits" Season 4 is just around the corner. The popular E4 series, which is now airing on Logo and Hulu in the U.S., will return with new episodes super soon, but to whet your appetite, E4 has released a new trailer featuring the new super-powered delinquents.

Season 4 of the series will stream exclusively on Hulu and Hulu Plus this fall. "Misfits" lost three stars between Season 3 and 4. Iwan Rheon left the series and will now appear in "Game of Thrones." Lauran Socha, the BAFTA-winning actress known to "Misfits" fans as the foul-mouthed Kelly, was arrested and sentenced to jail for racially aggravated assault against a taxi driver and [Spoiler Warning] Antonia Thomas' character was killed off in the Season 3 finale.

Misfits producer Matt Strevens has hinted at a "bromance" for Rudy (Joseph Gilgun) in the next series. Rudy will develop an "odd couple" relationship with new series regular Finn (Nathan McMullen), Strevens told SFX. "We've upped the humour a little bit more, because as we were writing and as we cast we realised the dynamic between Joe Gilgun and Nathan McMullen... has turned into a sort of a bromance," he explained. "They wind each other up, but they kind of love each other at the same time."
