Review: Sacramento has an equal amount of sweetness and sadness that it tries to balance. Starring two actors who spent their early careers in Hollywood playing teenagers, Sacramento shows us Michael Cera and Michael Angarano as what could be adult versions of any number of characters from their past projects. Co-written and directed by Angarano, Sacramento is a successor to films like Superbad if they were made through the lens of Jesse Eisenberg’s A Real Pain.

The PG Era is considered by many to be the worst era in WWE history. That says a lot, as even the vilified New Generation era has bright spots, but the PG Era catered almost too much to a children's demographic for anyone above the age of seven to enjoy. Because of its bad reputation, some of the best matches from that era have gotten lost in the shuffle.

It's tricky to pinpoint the actual timeline for the PG Era. While WWE became PG during the summer of 2008, it never stopped being PG, meaning that some historians have different opinions on when the PG Era officially ended. After all, while WWE is still PG to this day, there was a period when WWE was significantly family-friendly compared to more recent years. For the sake of convenience, this list will focus on matches between the mid-2008 beginning and 2014, when the Reality Era began.

Co-atuthors Aj Mendez and Aimee Garcia have announced their new supernatural horror comic series, Day of the Dead Girl, set to hit shelves this fall. Day of the Dead Girl will delve into Mexican cultural traditions surrounding death, as the members of a coven start to be killed off before their local Day of the Dead celebration. With their new series, authors Mendez and Garcia aim to bring representation of Mexican heritage into the comic book medium, accompanied by a chilling plot that will keep readers guessing until the end.

Writers Aj Mendez and Aimee Garcia have teamed up for another comic book series having previously cowritten several projects together, including a Glow comic adaptation which will honor Mexican culture through a classic supernatural scary story. The series, Day of the Dead Girl, unites Garcia and Mendez with artist Beln Culebras, and will be released by indie publisher Magma Comix.

These magnificent heroes and villains have inspired several motion pictures, which have brought Marvel Comics to new generations of viewers. The latest Marvel film to release is Deadpool & Wolverine and according to Comicbook.com, its director Shawn Levy has stated the picture's character stakes to be more important than the world-ending ones. This has prompted fans to discuss other Marvel projects where the characters took precedence over the saving-the-day narratives.

Great characters are needed to care about the world or the universe being saved. The best Marvel films understand this necessity and focus on making sure audiences care for the people who inhabit the franchise. Shifting the focus to the personalities of these protagonists and antagonists adds more dramatic weight to the movie narratives, resulting in a wholly satisfying release.

The teaser trailer arrived yesterday and includes plenty of talking points; however, one of the biggest has been the inclusion of Shira Haas' Ruth Bat-Seraph, a character better known in the comics as Sabra.

She's long been considered problematic, dating back to her debut in the pages of The Incredible Hulk in 1980. At the time, Ruth was frequently portrayed fighting Arabic terrorist tropes, while the "Sabra" name has several meanings, some of which are now considered offensive.

In September 2022, Shira Haas was cast as Ruth Bat-Seraph/Sabra, an Israeli mutant who, in the comics, is an agent of the real-life intelligence agency, Mossad. Due to the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Marvel Studios received backlash for the character's inclusion in Brave New World, with many fans and Palestinians concerned that the MCU would potentially glorify Israel through the use of Sabra. However, it looks like Marvel will be heavily downplaying Sabra's Israeli roots in the upcoming superhero movie, with Marvel.com revealing that Ruth Bat-Seraph never worked for Mossad in the MCU. Instead, she is a "former Black Widow" who now works as "a high-ranking U.S. government official who has the trust of President Ross."
