Joseph Kosinski had one instruction for the sound team behind his latest feature “F1”: It needed to be as immersive as possible, and he wanted the audience to feel like they were in the car.

Except, no movie had ever really recorded the authentic sounds of Formula 1. Re-recording mixer Juan Peralta explains, “Formula 1 has been so tied up in rights, so there’s never a movie made about it. Being in the car, in a theatrical environment, especially the F1 car, is a new thing. We’ve seen other racing movies with other types of cars. Joseph wanted to feel like we were at the races. He wanted to feel the speed, basically. So that was our biggest challenge with the effects was, anytime we’re on that car or in that car with that point of view, that you feel it, and you feel the speed of it.

Brad Pitt and Damson Idris’ racing movie F1 is edging closer to the starting line, and to get fans extra excited, Atlantic Records has revealed the artists involved in the companion record, F1: The Album.

The Apple Original Films and Warner Bros. Pictures film, set in the adrenaline-fueled world of Formula One motor racing, opens in theaters June 27, as does the 17-track soundtrack. The star-studded lineup includes tracks from Ed Sheeran, Tate McRae, Raye, Burna Boy, Rosé, Roddy Ricch, Dom Dolla, Chris Stapleton, Tiësto, Sexyy Red, Myke Towers, Madison Beer, Peggy Gou and more.

Rumors are swirling about Liam Lawson‘s future at the Oracle Red Bull Racing Formula 1 team!

The 23-year-old New Zealander has had a rough start to the 2025 F1 season, after crashing in the debut race in Australia, and finishing outside the points in China. Liam has yet to score any points in the first two races, or the sprint race, this year, while his teammate, 4-time world champion Max Verstappen has scored 36.

Liam joined the team after replacing Sergio Perez, who parted ways with Red Bull after an unimpressive second half of 2024. That year, Liam drove for junior team Rb (now Racing Bulls), replacing Daniel Ricciardo, and earned the team four points in six races.

Now, rumors have been going rampant since Melbourne, and there are new reports suggesting Red Bull will replace Liam soon with Racing Bull’s Yuki Tsunoda.

I can’t say I’m a big racing fan, but even I can admit that the glimpses we’ve seen of Joseph Kosinski’s F1 look quite amazing. If you’d like another look at the upcoming film, a behind-the-scenes video was released at the recent F1 75 Live season launch event at London’s The O2.

“You can talk about speed,” Kosinski said, “but we wanted to make audiences feel it.” The production used the “groundbreaking” camera technology they used on Top Gun: Maverick but “pushed it even further” for F1. The “Formula 1 Channel” will launch on leading services such as Samsung TV Plus, Amazon Freevee and Pluto TV ahead of next week’s Miami Grand Prix in Florida.

The free, ad-supported streaming channel will show F1, F2, F3 and F1 Academy race replays and highlights, as well as full reruns of classic races and popular documentaries.

We are nearly a quarter of the way through the 2024 Formula 1 race season!

The F1 season lasts about nine months, with close to a week and a half in between most races.

This year, 20 drivers are on the grid each week, vying for the Drivers World Championship and helping their team nab the Constructors World Championship. Both have been won by Red Bull for the past three years in a row!

While some Formula 1 drivers choose to keep their personal lives private, others are more open about their romantic relationships and share photos of themselves with their partners on social media.

The 2024 Formula 1 race season is heating up!

There have already been four Formula 1 races so far this year, and there has been plenty of action on the various tracks.

This year has seen three-time world champ Max Verstappen retire early on in a race, multiple crashes and a team that had only one car in a race.

While Max didn’t make it to the podium in Australia, he still remains the No 1 driver in this year’s standings, followed by teammate Sergio Perez, then Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz.

Zac Efron was among the celebrities in attendance at the 2024 Formula 1 Rolex Australian Grand Prix on Sunday (March 24) in Melbourne, Australia.

The 36-year-old actor was joined by his brother Dylan Efron (not pictured), and was even seen chatting with Sam Worthington inside the Red Bull Racing garage.

At one point, Sam was also seen talking with Red Bull team principle Christian Horner.

It was an unfortunate race for Red Bull as Max Verstappen‘s car faced a mechanical issue and was out of the race on the third lap. His teammate Sergio Perez landed in fifth place.

Winning the race was Carlos Sainz, who just had appendicitis surgery two weeks prior. He was followed by teammate Charles Leclerc, in a big 1-2 win for Ferrari, and McLaren’s Lando Norris in P3.

Baku (Azerbaijan), April 30 (Ians) Red Bull driver Sergio Perez doubled up on the streets of Baku by adding to his Sprint race triumph with victory in the drama-filled Azerbaijan Grand Prix on Sunday, leading Red Bull teammate Max Verstappen and Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc home to boost his title push.

After the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, Verstappen of the Netherlands was leading the 2003 Driver Standings with 93 points with Mexico’s Perez reducing the margin to 87 points. Former World Champion Fernando Alonso of Spain is in third position with 60 points while Multiple-time World Driver’s Champion Lewis Hamilton is a distant fourth with 48 points.

On Sunday, the day belonged to the two Red Bull drivers as they finished 1-2 on the podium.

Baku (Azerbaijan), April 29 (Ians) Red Bull Racing driver Sergio Perez claimed the first Sprint race victory of the season at the Baku City Circuit on Saturday, beating Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen to the chequered flag for the maximum eight points on offer in the Azerbaijan Grand Prix 2023.

With F1’s Sprint format being revised for 2023, a new ‘Shootout’ qualifying session set the grid for the 17-lap dash, which took place in pleasant weather conditions and featured action from start to finish.

One driver who did not take part was F1 rookie Logan Sargeant, who crashed out of the Shootout and was withdrawn from the 100-kilometre Sprint due to the significant damage his Williams car sustained in the incident.

Meanwhile, the grid missed another driver after Alpine made suspension changes on Esteban Ocon’s car under parc ferme conditions, with the team enduring a particularly challenging weekend on the shores of the Caspian Sea.

Starting from pole position, Perez lost out to Fernando Alonso at the first corner, but regained the lead on Lap 4 and was never headed as he took his fifth career win and his first since last season’s Monaco Grand Prix, a Xinhua report said.

Verstappen had started the race well down the order after a driveshaft issue had ruined his qualifying session, but a Safety Car period on Lap 18 helped him vault up the order, and the Dutchman was up to second place behind Perez by Lap 25.

Verstappen complained about problems with his driveshaft late in the race, and though the Dutchman managed to bring the car home and set the race’s fastest lap, he never came within four seconds of Perez.

Bahrain, March 6 (Ians) Red Bull’s Max Verstappen started the 2023 Formula 1 season as he had finished 2022, scoring an ominously easy win in the season-opening Bahrain Grand Prix.

Having dominated the 2022 season, Red Bull’s pre-season testing form had suggested that they would remain the team to beat in 2023, and that assertion was borne out when Verstappen and Sergio Perez locked out the front row in Saturday’s qualifying session, reports Xinhua news agency.

Leading the field away from pole position, Verstappen was never threatened as he eased to his first ever victory at the Bahrain International Circuit.

Behind Verstappen, Perez made it a Red Bull 1-2. The Mexican had lost second place to Charles Leclerc at the start, but took the position back by passing the Ferrari on Lap 26.

The final podium place went to a resurgent Fernando Alonso on his first outing for Aston Martin, after surviving contact on Lap 1 from teammate Lance Stroll.
