In recent years, anime has grown immensely as a mainstream form of entertainment, and new-gen anime series with different ideas are coming up. However, none of them could even come close to Tatsuki Fujimoto’s Chainsaw Man; the series is infectiously popular among viewers as it features something that has not been shown in ages.

However, with massive popularity comes heavy backlash because members of the Otaku community feel like the manga artist took a shortcut by copy-pasting Zero-Two’s character design to his series character, Power.
This led to the title’s popularity getting some heat from Darling in the Franxx’s fandom. To save the new-gen series from further criticism, he came to their rescue as he cleared the doubt that the fans have developed over the two characters.

Darling in the Franxx may be one of the most controversial stories in anime history but it’s still popular due to Zero Two. In fact, her popularity exceeds that of the anime at times. The story is set in the future, where humans have thrown away their emotions and rudimentary desires for the chance to live immortal lives without the troubles that the civilizations of the past brought them. As interesting as it sounds, the main plot quickly becomes irrelevant, only to be replaced by fan service and bad politics.
Zero Two and Hiro | Credits: A-1 Pictures, Trigger, CloverWorks
It’s an original anime by a collaborative effort between Studio Trigger, A-1 Pictures, and CloverWorks. However, fans point to Trigger since Darling in the Franxx is typically linked with that studio, given its prevalence in the Action, Sci-Fi, and Mecha themes, which have a powerful presence that easily outshines its partners.

Anime is a vast medium that features themes and genres of all kinds, and since its conception, it’s never shied away from using violence and graphic imagery to tell its story. Some of the most iconic series of all time showcase a darker storyline and violent action that’s both exciting and compelling. The 2020s have seen a definite boost in this genre, with more brutally grim titles coming out than ever before.
From the ever-popular Chainsaw Man to the controversial Redo of Healer, so far, the 2020s are filled with grim tales of suffering and struggles. They shock and disturb with harrowing fight scenes, gut-wrenching deaths, and emotional character arcs that bring a tear to the eye. Such titles certainly aren’t for everyone, but nevertheless, they’ve easily topped charts as some of the best of the decade, proving their overall appeal.

After over a decade of waiting, Studio Trigger has finally announced a sequel to the cult-favorite anime Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt, titled New Panty and Stocking. Legal issues caused significant delays in the production of the sequel. While details about New Panty and Stocking are scarce, the trailer hints at a possible continuation of the first season's storyline.
After catching the anime community by storm in the 2010s and becoming an instant cult favorite, the crass and irreverent magical girl parody Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt left fans hanging with its absurd cliffhanger and the promise of a sequel. More than a decade passed, but there was no follow-up on the Anarchy Sisters. For as long as anime fans can remember, Panty and Stocking Season 2 was nothing but a myth.
