Personal Bio:
Sean Webley is a filmmaker, visual artist, writer, and creative director with over twenty years of experience. As a cinematographer, his work has been showcased at prestigious festivals worldwide, including SXSW, the Santa Barbara International Film Festival, the Vancouver International Film Festival, and the Shanghai International Film Festival, among others. He is currently finalizing post-production on two feature documentaries slated for release in 2025. His experimental film Beef received the Experimental Spirit Award at the Brooklyn Film Festival (2022) and Best Experimental Film at the Nashville Film Festival (2022), screening at numerous international festivals. His latest series, Poets in Space, featuring Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Jericho Brown, was acquired by The Paris Review.
In addition to his film work, Sean's visual art has been exhibited internationally, including at the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao (2022).
He also leads Primitive Collective, a creative collective focused on integrating art into branding and advertising. Their work in advertising has garnered tens of millions of views, been featured in AdWeek, and earned several industry accolades. With an MFA from Columbia University and a BS from the University of Florida, Sean has lectured on visual language and art at institutions such as MIT, Boston University, and Lesley University.
