Exclusive: Post-production has wrapped on indie thriller Exhale, starring Q’orianka Kilcher (Yellowstone) as a young Indigineous woman who psychologically unravels in quarantine.

The synopsis reads: “With the world feeling as though it’s caving in around her, Alma fights for her mental and physical health amidst Covid-19, the Black Lives Matter movement and other life-altering events.”

Adam VillaSeñor directs the project, which is written and produced by VillaSeñor and Kilcher.

In a recent creative addition, Mark Watts of The Alan Watts Organization has licensed the voice of his late father Alan Watts to the producers. Watts is the British and American writer, speaker, and self-styled “philosophical entertainer”, known for interpreting and popularising Buddhist, Taoist, and Hindu philosophy for western audiences. He passed in 1973.

Exclusive: Vmi Worldwide has boarded worldwide sales rights on Unwinding, a crime thriller starring Peter Facinelli, Ross McCall, and Yellowstone actor Q’orianka Kilcher.

The film’s supporting cast includes James Paxton, Darren Petite, Sarah Wynter, Avi Angel, Timothy V. Murphy, and Amanda Plummer. The film’s script was penned by Reza Ghassemi (In Full Bloom), who also directs. The film was edited by Elika Rezaee (Shayda). Scor was composed by Andrew Kawczynski (Dune).

Unwinding is described as a “neo-noir crime thriller about two private investigators (Facinelli and Kilcher) drawn into the high-stakes kidnapping of a senator’s son. As the case spirals into a labyrinth, they uncover the shadowy presence of a secret society operating behind a veil of political power. The deeper they go, the more dangerous the truth becomes.

Exclusive: Q’orianka Kilcher (Yellowstone) has been set to star opposite Pierce Brosnan, Samuel L. Jackson, and Brandon Lessard in the forthcoming Western Unholy Trinity from Robert the Bruce filmmaker Richard Gray.

Currently in production under an Interim Agreement, the film set against the turbulent backdrop of 1870s Montana picks up in the moments before the execution of Isaac Broadway, as he gives his estranged son, Henry (Lessard), an impossible task: murder the man who framed him for a crime he didn’t commit. Intent on fulfilling his promise, Henry travels to the remote town of Trinity, where an unexpected turn of events traps him in town and leaves him caught between Gabriel Dove (Brosnan), the town’s upstanding new sheriff, and a mysterious figure named St. Christopher (Jackson).

Kilcher’s playing a character named Running Cub in the film penned by Lee Zachariah, though no further details have been disclosed.

Exclusive: The pandemic thriller Yesteryear has wrapped production and confirm they rounded out the cast with Jesse Garcia (Flamin Hot), Joanna Cassidy (Blade Runner), Timothy V. Murphy (The Lone Ranger), Tiffany Chu (Ms. Purple), Yusuke Ogasawara (In Full Bloom), Crystal Echohawk (Founder of IllumiNative) and Chester Gregory (Hairspray).

Garcia and Gregory will portray truth seekers running a podcast called Revolutionary Radio next door to Alma as they dive into a world of conspiracy. Cassidy will portray Alma’s insightful colorful therapist. Murphy will play a strange man with whom Alma has a violent yet playful encounter. Chu will portray the sultry Olivia, who influences Alma to partake in Only Fans. Echo Hawk will portray Alma’s angelic mother through flashbacks in memory.

Exclusive: After taking on a major recurring arc across multiple seasons of Taylor Sheridan‘s hit neo-Western drama series Yellowstone, actress Q’orianka Kilcher has signed with Silver Lining Entertainment for management.

Kilcher played Angela Blue Thunder, the business consultant hired by Thomas Rainwater (Gil Birmingham) to fend off Market Equities’ threats to both the Dutton Ranch and Broken Rock Reservation, in the Paramount Network show returning later this year for the back half of its fifth and final season.

The actress broke out at 14 years old with her turn as Pocahontas in Terrence Malick’s The New World, which had her starring opposite Colin Farrell and Christian Bale, and brought her a Critics’ Choice Award nomination for Best Young Actress. Exclusive: Scott Haze (Jurassic World Dominion) has signed on to star alongside Orlando Bloom and Andie MacDowell in the action-thriller Red Right Hand, from directors Ian and Eshom Nelms (Fatman).

The film penned by Jonathan Easley follows Cash (Bloom), who is trying to live an honest and quiet life, taking care of his niece Savannah in the Appalachian hills of Odim County. When the sadistic Queenpin Big Cat (MacDowell), who runs the town, forces him back into her services, Cash learns he’s capable of anything—even killing—to protect the town and the only family he has left. As the journey gets harder, Cash is drawn into a nightmare that blurs the lines between good and evil.

Haze will play Cash’s brother-in-law Finney, who spurs the change in him when he gets into debt to MacDowell’s Queenpin. Asbury Park Pictures is the project’s financier, and is producing alongside Traction.

Exclusive: Producer Kyle Stroud, whose credits include the Mel Gibson-starring Fatman, has unveiled the debut slate at his newly-launched production and finance outfit Carte Blanche.

On the roster is an under-the-radar movie starring Oscar-winner Anthony Hopkins, which has been shot and produced by cinematographer Dante Spinotti, with costumes designed by Colleen Atwood. The pic has quietly filmed and is now in post, with further details to come.

On the development slate for Carte Blanche are: a film produced by and starring Q’orianka Kilcher to be directed by Adam VillaSeñor (In Full Bloom); Oscar-winner David S. Ward’s Red Ivory, which explores the illegal ivory trade in Africa; an offbeat Charlie Kaufman-esque dark comedy packaged by ICM; and Hunter Adams’ Southern gothic thriller Death Don’t Have No Mercy, which was chosen by the Academy as one of the top 40 screenplays of 2019 out of more than 7,000 submitted to the Academy Nicholl Fellowship.
