British-Brazilian filmmaker, Gabriel Amaral cut his teeth producing, directing and editing commercials and corporate films through his London based production company, 3c Films. Prior to re-locating to Sao Paulo, Brazil, he attended the Stella Adler Acting Conservatory in New York and has since taken on multiple roles in the Brazilian film industry.
His first Portuguese language film as writer/director, "Lugar Algum" ("No Place") won multiple awards on its festival run in 2020 and his debut feature as a screenwriter, Meninas Não Choram ("Girls Don't Cry") remained in the Netflix top 10 for several weeks. He is currently developing an original feature for a major streaming service and his debut feature as director is set to shoot in the 2nd half of 2025.
