Alec Baldwin is proving his VOD bankability is not rusty one bit.

Baldwin’s latest film “Supercell” debuted in the top 10 on iTunes, marking the actor’s first movie released since the fatal October 2021 shooting on the “Rust” set. Baldwin is currently facing manslaughter charges in the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. “Rust” producer Anjul Nigam and actor Baldwin’s production banner Persona Entertainment is also behind “Supercell,” with Nigam credited as an executive producer.

“Supercell” only grossed under $8,000 in theaters since its March 17 day-and-date release on VOD. Directed by Herbert James Winterstern from a script co-written by Anna Elizabeth James, “Supercell” follows a teenage boy (Daniel Diemer) who tries to save his storm-chasing father’s legacy from a corrupt local tourism business. Arriving in select theaters and on digital platforms on March 17, Supercell is directed by Herbert James Winterstern in his feature film directorial debut. Last year’s Deadly Illusions was the fourth feature directed by Anna Elizabeth James, but her first thriller. When it was released through the Netflix streaming service, it was the #1 movie on the service worldwide for eight days straight. So it makes sense that James’ fifth feature is also a thriller. This one is called Blunt and stars Amy Smart (Mirrors), Billy Zane (Tales from the Crypt: Demon Knight), Matt Davis (Terror of Dracula), Greer Grammer (Awkward), and Ne-Yo (Red Tails).

Smart’s character is

a single mother who wakes up to find herself hogtied and held captive at her country vacation rental by an unknown assailant. In a race against time, she must piece together clues from the previous guests to find out who assaulted her, and hopefully survive the ordeal.

Deadline reports that Voltage Pictures is handling global sales on Blunt and will be presenting it to potential buyers immediately.

Alec Baldwin has been set to star in Supercell, an action film to be directed by Herbert James Winterstern that will shoot this year on location in Montana and Georgia. The casting comes as the the film’s production company, Ryan Winterstern and Nathan Klingher’s newly launched Short Porch Pictures, inked a first-look output deal with indie sales outfit Highland Film Group.

Voltage Pictures will launch worldwide sales at the Cannes virtual market next week on the upcoming thriller Deadly Illusions starring Kristin Davis (Sex And The City), Dermot Mulroney (Shameless), Greer Grammer (Awkward), and Shanola Hampton (Shameless).

Anna Elizabeth James is directing the project from her own screenplay, which Voltage president and COO Jonathan Deckter described as being a throwback to classic thrillers like Basic Instinct.

James Grammar and Hampton are producing the project, currently in post.

Ever Carradine is set to appear in All My Life, Universal’s romantic drama inspired by the life of Jenn Carter and her husband Solomon Chau, who will be played by Jessica Rothe and Harry Shum Jr. Marc Meyers is directing the piece, which revolves around the love, life and laughter circle of a young couple as they plan their wedding in the face of devastating news. Jay Pharoah, Marielle Scott, Michael Masini, Chrissie Fit, Greg Vrotsos, Kyle Allen, and Keala Settle also co-star. Todd Rosenberg wrote the script, which Todd Garner and Sean Robins are producing for their Broken Road Productions banner. Carradine is repped by Gersh Agency.

Exclusive: Sex and the City alum Kristin Davis, Greer Grammer, and Dermot Mulroney are set to star in Grace, an indie thriller written and directed by Anna Elizabeth James. Davis and Grammer are also producers on the film which starts shooting in New Mexico next month.

The plot centers on a bestselling female novelist (Davis) who is suffering from writer’s block and hires an innocent young woman (Grammer) to watch over her twin children. As the novelist dangerously indulges in her new best-seller, the line between the life she’s writing about and the one she’s actually living becomes blurred. Mulroney will play Davis’ husband.
