The film takes over the date previously held by Jason Statham’s Mutiny, which will now move to a summer 2026 release. The sequel sees Butler reuniting with co-stars Morena Baccarin and Roman Griffith Davis, as the Garrity family is forced to leave the safety of their Greenland bunker to traverse a shattered world in search of a new home. Along the way, they’ll encounter both new allies and fresh dangers, with Amber Rose Revah, Sophie Thompson, Trond Fausa Aurvåg, and William Abadie joining the cast.

The original Greenland, released in 2020 at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, became an unexpected hit. Sidetracked from a traditional release by theater closures, the film scored a $20–$30 million HBO streaming deal in the U.S.

The movie was sidelined by Covid but hobbled through, nabbing a $20M-$30M HBO streaming deal stateside, and also getting a release abroad where theaters were open, notching No. 1 in 26 countries and including Germany, France, Italy, Spain, and Russia, grossing more than $52 million internationally.

UK-based producer-financier Anton has responded to a legal suit brought against it and producer John Zois by Kate Beckinsale in which the actor alleges the set of 2024 action film Canary Blackwas unsafe and dangerous and resulted in her sustaining “severe and debilitating injuries”.

AnAnton spokesperson told Screen: “We follow strict safety standards on all our productions. We are reviewing these allegations, which we believe are meritless.”

Kate Beckinsale suffered for her art when filming her hit Prime Video action movie Canary Black and showed off several war-wounds on her Instagram account around the time of the movie’s release in 2024. However, the actress has now launched legal proceedings against the producers of the film for negligence and exposing her to “dangerous and unsafe conditions” during filming.

As reported by Puck, Beckinsale is suing Anton Entertainment and producer John Zois for both negligence, “intentional infliction of emotional distress,” and battery in a lawsuit that was originally launched in May. According to the details of the claim:

"Ms. Beckinsale and her team repeatedly raised red flags regarding unsafe conditions on and off set to Defendants, including long, dangerous set days, often lasting fifteen hours, inadequate equipment and medical personnel to help manage the high physical workload and recover from the exertion off set, and failure to adequately inform Ms.

Back on May 21, the 51-year-old actress filed an amended complaint in the Los Angeles Superior Court where she accused Anton Entertainment and producer John Zois of negligence, battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Kate alleges that she “was repeatedly exposed to unsafe and dangerous conditions” while filming the action thriller from late 2022 to early 2023, and as a result, suffered “severe and debilitating injuries, including significant trauma to her left knee,” according to People.

Exclusive: Former Anton exec John Zois (The Night House) and current north.five.six. CEO Warren Goz (The Marksman) have launched Parallel 42 Entertainment, an LA-based film and TV development and production company that will focus on commercially driven projects across the action, thriller, sci-fi, and horror genres.

Zois, who spent the last six years helping build UK-based financier and production company Anton, will oversee the creative and operational aspects of the new indie. Parallel 42’s film slate will include mix of features and series—ranging from low-budget horror to large-scale commercial action—developed for studios, streamers, independent partners and cable.

As CEO, Goz will bring his background in production, financing, and sales to help guide and support the company’s projects.

The company is currently developing projects with filmmakers including Brad Anderson, the Dowdle Brothers Michaël R. Roskam, Nimród Antal, Jason Winer (Brother From Another Mother), and Rob Lorenz (In The Land of Saints & Sinners).

The firm will look to work with a range of sales partners on its projects but will also likely have a strong connection to north.five.six. given Goz’s ongoing role there.

Zois, who also has worked at Global Road and Im Global, most recently produced the upcoming sequel Greenland: Migration, starring Gerard Butler and set for release by Lionsgate later this year; and the upcoming Amazon UK original series The Girlfriend, starring Robin Wright and Olivia Cooke.

Benoît Delhomme directs the domestic drama “Mothers’ Instinct,” which is a remake of Olivier Masset-Depasse’s 2017 Belgium film “Duelles” based on the novel “Derrière la Haine” by Barbara Abel.

Director Masset-Depasse won a record-breaking nine Magritte Awards from the Belgian Academy including Best Film and Best Director for the original film “Duelles.” Writer Sarah Conradt (“50 States of Fright”) adapted the English language script.

The official synopsis reads: Set in the 1960s, “Mothers’ Instinct” centers on best friends and neighbors Alice (Chastain) and Celine (Hathaway), who live in a suburban paradise. Both are mothers to two sons of the same age, and their idyllic domestic happiness is shattered after a tragic accident.

In “Greenland,” Butler starred as John Garrity, a structural engineer who attempts to flee Atlanta along with his wife Allison (played by Baccarin) and diabetic son Nathan (Roger Dale Floyd) after a comet threatens to destroy the planet. After John, Allison and Nathan are separated, the family struggles to reunite while fragments of the comet rain down on earth, threatening an extinction-level event.

In the sequel, which is set after the comet has decimated earth, the Garrity family are forced to embark on a perilous journey across what’s left of Europe to find a new home.

Gerard Butler (Angel Has Fallen), Morena Baccarin (Deadpool) and director Ric Roman Waugh (Angel Has Fallen) are confirmed to reprise their roles for action sequel Greenland: Migration, which is due to start production in the UK in April.

Chris Sparling and Mitchell Lafortune wrote the screenplay in which “the Garrity family must leave the safety of the Greenland bunker after the comet ‘Clarke’ decimated the earth and the family embarks on a harrowing journey across the wasteland of Europe to find a new home”.

A couple days ago, Neon announced that they will be releasing the horror film Cuckoo, which stars Hunter Schafer (Euphoria), in just a few months, on May 3rd. Now Deadline reports that Schafer has signed on to star in another genre project, the psychological horror thriller Palette, where she’ll be sharing the screen with Noomi Rapace (Prometheus).

The screenplay for Palette landed on the Black List last year, the Black List being an annual survey of the most-liked screenplays that are bouncing around in the system but haven’t been produced yet. Now this one is going into production with writer Zach Strauss at the helm. This will be the first feature directing credit for Strauss, who has also written Spike Lee’s upcoming film Da Understudy and episodes of the Frankie Shaw Showtime series Smilf.

Hunter Schafer and Noomi Rapace will star in “Palette,” a psychological horror film directed by Zach Strauss (“Smilf”) in his feature debut.

Strauss penned the script for “Palette,” which was featured on the 2023 Black List. He is also a writer on Spike Lee’s upcoming feature “Da Understudy.”

“Palette” follows Dolly (Schafer), “a woman suffering from extreme synesthesia, a rare condition where she is able to hear colors,” according to the film’s synopsis. She is soon “recruited into a secretive, cult-like industry of color design, uncovering the dark reality of what it takes to make the world’s greatest hues.”

Rapace is set to play Latrice, the company’s enigmatic executive. Frankie Shaw is also in the cast as Sidney, Dolly’s cutthroat rival.

Schafer is starring in another horror film, Tilman Singer’s “Cuckoo,” which is set to have its world premiere at Berlin Film Festival this month.

Mothers’ Instinct, a remake of the 2018 Belgian film Duelles, went into production back in May of 2022, with Academy Award winners Anne Hathaway (Les Misérables) and Jessica Chastain (The Eyes of Tammy Faye) – who also happen to be close friends in their personal lives – in the lead roles. Once filming had wrapped, Hathaway revealed that her role in the film was the hardest she had ever played, as it tapped into her own worst fear. Lagerfelt will play Chastain’s mother-in-law in the psychological thriller, which tells the story of two women living next door to each other in an idyllic neighborhood in the 1960s. When a tragic accident occurs, it threatens to tear their friendship and families apart.

Based on Barbara Abel’s novel “Derrière la Haine,” the film is directed by Benoit Delhomme (“The Theory of Everything”) who also worked on a Belgian film adaptation of the book, “Duelles.”
