General Hospital’s Jonathan Jackson Hits Stage With Former Co-Star
Image
Jonathan Jackson’s Lucky may have left Port Charles behind on General Hospital, but his love of performing is still going strong. The actor reunited with his former Nashville co-star, Clare Bowen, to do a series of live shows on the East Coast. The pair stopped into the Stress Factory in New Brunswick, NJ and wowed the crowd with songs and storytelling.

Hitting The Road

Lucky recently departed with his son Aiden (Colin Cassidy) after returning to Gh in August of 2024. The commute between Los Angeles, where the show tapes, and Jackson’s home in Tennessee was the reason given for his departure. Fans were excited to see the actor return to the canvas, with some expressing disappointment when his return did not last as long as they had hoped.

Watch Now: Dive into the drama with SoapHub Says.

The actor was recently nominated for a Daytime Emmy in the Outstanding Supporting Actor category.

I don't know about all of you, but the biggest draw for me personally in The Couple Next Door is the fact that Outlander star Sam Heughan is one of the leads in it. That's why I started watching - to support our favorite actor and also have something to tune in to during Droughtlander. With the finale now out and that let's say interesting ending, you might be wondering about the show's future.

Yes, there will be The Couple Next Door season 2. The psychological thriller was co-produced by Starz and British network Channel 4, having aired across the pond first before we got it here in the U.S. Back in November 2024, Channel 4 announced that it had renewed the show for a second season. But, there's some bad news.

The Couple Next Door starring Sam Heughan finally has a release date on Starz later than promised
Image
Sam Heughan and Outlander fans, we have good news to share with you! Of course we love to see the actor as the one and only Jamie Fraser, but that doesn't mean we don't also love supporting the cast in other projects. One of the intriguing ones us in the U.S. have been waiting to see is The Couple Next Door starring Heughan himself. There's finally a premiere date, but it's a little longer than promised.

In July 2024, Starz shared that the psychological drama was set to begin streaming and airing in winter 2024. So perhaps a December release is what was assumed. However, The Couple Next Door will premiere Friday, Jan. 17, 2025 on Starz. Now, look. I know the wait is not that much longer than what we'd been anticipating. I'm just so excited to see the show, and it's a little annoying the debut is being pushed slightly. But,...

Everything We Know About The Princess Switch 4
Image
Princess Switch 4 is unlikely to happen as Netflix has not green-lit another film and no one involved has expressed interest. If Princess Switch 4 were to happen, Vanessa Hudgens and the rest of the main cast would likely return, along with potential new additions. The potential storyline for Princess Switch 4 could continue with Fiona's connections to the criminal underworld and explore a love story and pregnancy plot.

After the success of The Princess Switch 3 on Netflix, there has been plenty of speculation about The Princess Switch 4, but will it ever happen? A fun spin on the Parent Trap story, the first Princess Switch movie found a baker from Chicago swapping places with her double, who just happened to be the fianceé of the prince of Belgravia. Vanessa Hudgens pulled double duty in the first movie as both Stacy de Novo and Lady Margaret, and in the second movie, added...

Nashville Star Chris Carmack Gets Concert Ready In New Video Ahead Of Reunion Tour
Image
Nashville star Chris Carmack joins his former co-stars for a reunion concert tour, marking the first time the cast has played together in 5 years. The TV show Nashville, known for its gripping stories and stellar music, spawned successful careers for its cast members and had sold-out shows at concert halls. The reunion tour will feature performances of songs from the show as well as new material from each artist, with the first show taking place in Chicago on September 23.

Nashville star Chris Carmack preps to re-enter the arena in a new video shared on Instagram ahead of the show's reunion tour. The TV show, which aired first on ABC for four seasons and CMT for two more from 2012 to 2018, spawned successful careers for multiple actor-musicians depicting fictional characters dealing with the real-life ins-and-outs of Tennessee's country music scene and balancing family, artistic struggle, and personal relationships. Our Favorite Songs From ‘Nashville,’ Now 10 Years Old
Callie Khouri at an event for The 64th Annual Academy Awards (1992)
Oscar-winning screenwriter Callie Khouri had an ace in the hole when she created the ABC-turned-cmt musical drama Nashville a decade ago: She’s married to T Bone Burnett, a songwriter and record producer with 13 Grammys to his name. And Burnett’s supervision of Nashville’s first-season music helped sell the illusion that Connie Britton’s Rayna James and Hayden Panettiere’s Juliette Barnes were actually country superstars. Unfortunately, Burnett left the show after Season 1 amid conflict with ABC executives, but his work on the show helped Nashville soundtrack albums soar on Billboard’s U.S. Country charts. With Nashville hitting its 10th anniversary on October 10, we’re sharing our favorite tracks from the show — including ones performed by costars Charles Esten, Clare Bowen, Sam Palladio, Chaley Rose, and real-life sisters Lennon and Maisy Stella. “If I Didn’t Know Better” by Clare Bowen and Sam Palladio Co-written by John Paul White of The Civil Wars,...

‘For Life’ & ‘Rebel’ Not Getting New Seasons On IMDb TV Following Runs Of Existing Episodes
Image
IMDb TV, Amazon’s free streaming service, is not proceeding with picking up new seasons of canceled ABC drama series For Life and Rebel. The decision was made after the streamer evaluated the performance of the two shows’ existing seasons on the AVOD platform.

Season 1 and 2 of For Life became available on IMDb TV at the end of June through a deal with Sony Pictures TV; Rebel’s first season joined it on the service two weeks later under a pact with ABC Signature. Both agreements included an option for a new season order based on how the existing seasons performed on the platform, with the cast of both series available to continue.

Finding a new home for a canceled broadcast series is difficult and rarely successful, so the arrangements with IMDb TV were considered long shots, but TV studios often exhaust all avenues for their shows and talent before they throw in the towel.

‘Rebel’ Eyes Potential Season 2 Pickup By IMDb TV As Season 1 Gets Run On Amazon’s AVOD Platform
Image
The first season of Rebel, which was canceled by ABC in May, is now available on IMDb TV, Amazon’s free streaming service.

I hear the agreement between IMDb TV and lead Rebel studio ABC Signature includes an option for a second-season order based on how Season 1 performs on the platform. The studio still has the cast, led by Katey Sagal, under options, I hear, making a second season a realistic possibility.

IMDb TV recently made a similar arrangement with Sony Pictures TV for another canceled ABC drama, For Life, whose first two seasons are currently streaming on the service. That series, starring Nicholas Pinnock, also is eying a potential new season on the AVOD platform if the trial run of its existing seasons does well.

The cancellation of Rebel came just five episodes into its freshman run on ABC. It was a tough decision for the network because the series,...

‘Rebel’ Star Katey Sagal & Showrunner Krista Vernoff Break Silence On “Heartbreak” Of ABC Cancellation
Image
On Friday, ABC opted not to renew five titles, but the most unexpected was Katey Sagal-starrer Rebel from Grey’s Anatomy showrunner Krista Vernoff. Now somewhat distanced from the news, Sagal and Vernoff broke their silence on the sudden cancellation, which came five episodes into Rebel‘s freshman run.

“The abrupt announcement that there would be no season 2 based on the response from our airings came a shock and a heartbreak,” Sagal wrote on Instagram. “Things take time to catch on. ‘Rebel’ Canceled By ABC After One Season
Image
Five episodes into its freshman run, ABC’s Katey Sagal-starring drama Rebel has been canceled.

It was clearly a tough decision for the network because the series, inspired by the life of activist Erin Brockovich, comes from ABC’s most valuable drama showrunner, Krista Vernoff, who is shepherding the network’s top two scripted series, Grey’s Anatomy and spinoff Station 19.

Both Grey’s Anatomy and Station 19 were recently renewed for next season, with Vernoff set to continue at the helm of the duo. Rebel, Vernoff’s first series as a creator, has underperformed in the ratings despite having ABC’s highest-rated series, Grey’s Anatomy, as a lead-in. But there was speculation that the new show’s pedigree and strong cast could earn it more time to find a wider audience.

‘Rebel’ Premiere On Par With ‘Amlt’; ‘L&o: Organized Crime’ Settles In Week 2 As ‘Svu’, ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ & ‘Young Sheldon’ Top Night
Image
ABC on Thursday gaveled to order the series premiere of Rebel, the legal drama created by Grey’s Anatomy and Station 19 showrunner Krista Vernoff and starring Katey Sagal. The debut drew a 0.5 rating in the adults 18-49 demographic and 3.56 million viewers in Nielsen Live+Same Day numbers in its 10 p.m. time slot, capping the debut of the network’s all-Vernoff lineup. Rebel’s performance was in line with the season L+Sd averages for its predecessor in the 10 p.m. hour, A Million Little Things, which just relocated to its old Wednesday 10 p.m. berth.

Rebel was not an instant breakout in overnight ratings, ranking behind the two Shondaland dramas last night, Grey’s Anatomy and Station 19. Like is the case with most dramas these days, we will have to wait to see what kind of bumps it will get in delayed/multi-platform viewing. The show, which received a 10-episode straight-to-series order,...

Abigail Spencer Joins Katey Sagal on Rebel
Abigail Spencer
Abigail Spencer is reuniting with Krista Vernoff, the showrunner of Grey's Anatomy.

ABC announced Thursday at the Television Critics Association winter press tour that Spencer is joining the cast of forthcoming drama series Rebel.

Spencer will recur as Misha, “a brilliant cardiothoracic surgeon who has a painful romantic history with Nate (Fear the Walking Dead‘s Kevin Zegers), but can’t resist getting involved with studying the Stonemore heart valve for fear that she may have inadvertently harmed hundreds of patients,” reads the character description.

Image

Vanessa Hudgens in The Princess Switch: Switched Again (2020)
‘Princess Switch 2': Did You Spot the ‘A Christmas Prince’ Cameo?
Vanessa Hudgens in The Princess Switch: Switched Again (2020)
(Warning: Spoilers ahead for “The Princess Switch: Switched Again.”)

Netflix is continuing what has now become an annual tradition of connecting its original Christmas movies with a special cameo featuring two key “A Christmas Prince” characters at the end of its Vanessa Hudgens-led “The Princess Switch” sequel.

In “The Princess Switch: Switched Again,” which launched Thursday, Duchess Margaret (Hudgens) is crowned queen of Montenaro, with many adoring friends and subjects in attendance, including her new husband, Kevin (Nick Sagar), her look-alike Stacy, a Chicago baker-turned-Belgravian princess who is also played by Hudgens, Stacy’s husband, Prince Edward (Sam Palladio), and her other look-alike, her scheming cousin Fiona.

But if you are paying attention to the other people in the crowd, you’ll notice three foreign royals cheering on Margaret in a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment: Aldovia’s Queen Amber (Rose McIver), King Richard (Ben Lamb) and their new baby, Princess Elleri.

‘The Princess Switch: Switched Again’ Review: It’s Vanessa Hudgens Times Three in Cozy Netflix Sequel
Image
With Covid resurgence meaning that only the naughty are likely to risk large gatherings this holiday season, there will be even more reliance on home-viewing comfort food in the vein of “The Princess Switch: Switched Again.” Bringing back the same director, writers and lead actors from Netflix’s original 2018 success, this pleasant sequel provides the updated “Prince and the Pauper” conceit a new wrinkle in giving star Vanessa Hudgens yet a third lookalike character to play.

Though inevitably the formula wears a little thinner in spots this time, it’s a frothy fantasy that should satisfy viewers’ itch for confectionary-looking Christmas fluff. Netflix premieres the feature worldwide Nov. 19, and it should provide them with a year-end programming staple for some time to come.

As erstwhile Chicago baker Stacy (Hudgens) reminds us in opening-credits voiceover, when last seen she’d wound up a princess by catching the eye of Prince Edward...
