Modern Family star Ariel Winter has booked perhaps her most high-profile role yet since the hit ABC sitcom ended in 2020. The actor is set to join the fan-favorite superhero franchise The Thundermans.

According to Deadline, Nickelodeon has greenlit a new movie in The Thundermans franchise, Clash of the Thundermans, which will be set after the events of The Thundermans Return and The Thundermans: Undercover. Winter will play Cognita in the superhero movie, appearing alongside returning cast members Kira Kosarin as Phoebe Thunderman, Jack Griffo as Max Thunderman, Maya Le Clark as Chloe Thunderman, Addison Riecke as Nora Thunderman, Diego Velasquez as Billy Thunderman, Chris Tallman as Hank Thunderman, and Rosa Blasi as Barb Thunderman.

Nickelodeon is bringing more thunder with a new movie called Clash of the Thundermans. This comes after the success of The Thundermans Return movie and the spinoff series The Thundermans: Undercover.

According to official announcements, the new movie will launch at the same time on Nickelodeon and Paramount+ in 2026. Filming is planned to start in Vancouver on July 31.

Ariel Winter, known for her roles in Modern Family and Sofia the First, is joining the cast. She will play a character named Cognita. Grammy winner Tyla hosted the 2025 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards on Saturday, June 21st, with The Thundermans: Undercover, A Minecraft Movie, Sabrina Carpenter, Wicked, and Cobra Kai emerging as the big winners. This year’s show, as with every past Kids’ Choice Awards, featured lots of sliming. The 38th edition of the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards took over Santa Monica on Saturday.

Hosted by Tyla, the awards show featured performances by Machine Gun Kelly and Katseye, as well as skateboarding stunts by Tony Hawk and Katelyn West, and several slimings.

Winners included Ariana Grande, Dwayne Johnson, Sza, Bruno Mars and Sabrina Carpenter, as well as the stars of Wicked, Cobra Kai and The Thundermans: Undercover.

Jack Black received a Silver Blimp as he was crowned King of Comedy for his career of hilarious work, while Rihanna received the first-ever Icon Silver Blimp.

Nickelodeon just revealed that music star Tyla will host the event live on June 21 from Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, Calif. The show will air live on Nickelodeon, TeenNick, Nicktoons, the Nick Jr. channel, MTV2 and CMT and Nickelodeon channels around the world at 8pm Et/Pt.

Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga and Kendrick Lamar lead the nominations this year with four mentions each. There are 35 categories in which fans can vote in, beginning on Thursday.

Green goo and big stars are joining forces once again for the 2025 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards, which officially unveiled its host and nominees on Thursday.

Grammy-winning artist Tyla will take the reins as host when the show airs live on June 21 from the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, Calif.

The slime-filled spectacle will simulcast across Nickelodeon, TeenNick, Nicktoons, Nick Jr., MTV2, and CMT, as well as international Nickelodeon channels, where fans can watch their favorite TV, movie and sports stars get covered in green glop.

This year’s nominees include a fresh batch of first-timers such as Gracie Abrams, Zach Bryan, Jordan Chiles, Frankie Grande, Cynthia Erivo, Doechii, Keith Lee, Chappell Roan, Shaboozey, Shohei Ohtani, and Florence Pugh.

The trailer, first-look images, and premiere details arrive via Variety. Thundermans: Undercover focuses primarily on Kira Kosarin as Phoebe, Jack Griffo as Max, and Maya Le Clark as Chloe. Per Nickelodeon, the series "will follow Phoebe and Max, who are sent undercover to handle a new threat in the seaside town of Secret Shores and bring Chloe (Maya Le Clark) along to develop her superhero talent." The trailer, released on August 15, reveals The Thundermans star Kira Kosarin as the daughter of Ashton Kutcher and Shannon Elizabeth‘s characters from That ’70s Show. Betsy was born as the result of Kelso and Brooke hooking up at a Molly Hatchet concert in That ’70s Show. Kutcher’s character moved to Chicago to be closer to his daughter in Season 8 of the hit sitcom, but he had moved back to Wisconsin and was living with wife Jackie (Mila Kunis) in 1995 when That ’90s Show began. Jackie and Kelso are parents to Jay Kelso (Mace Coronel), Betsy’s half-brother. Nate (Maxwell Acee Donovan) is flirting with Betsy in a bar in the trailer above, but he doesn’t know who she is.

The Thundermans are returning for even more adventures. Nickelodeon has ordered The Thundermans Return after the success of the reunion movie with the same title earlier this year.

The superhero Thundermans are off to solve more crimes. Nickelodeon Studios has given a green light to a new spinoff series based on characters from the hit live-action movie The Thundermans Return.

The spinoff series will follow Phoebe and Max, played by original series cast members Kira Kosarin and Jack Griffo, who are sent undercover to handle a new threat in the seaside town of Secret Shores and bring Chloe (Maya Le Clark) along to develop her superhero talent. Production will begin in Vancouver in August, with premiere details to be announced at a later date.

Paramount+ has removed 10 kid-friendly series from its library, including a pair of streaming originals: The CG-animated Rugrats reboot and Big Nate — neither of which has been formally cancelled as of press time.

After years of anonymity, Drake & Josh star Drake Bell is detailing the sexual abuse he suffered at the hands of convicted child sex offender Brian Peck.

It’s been a long time since Kira Kosarin and Jack Griffo donned their Thundermans outfits and returned to the screen, but now with the release of The Thundermans Return, via both Paramount+ and Nickelodeon, fans of the long-standing series will have the opportunity to revel in their adventures yet again.

To mark the occasion we had the pleasure of speaking to the duo, as they talk about returning to the characters, the sets and what it has been like being reunited with their fellow cast-members. They also talk about the strength of their own relationship, both on and off screen, while looking across a life in the public eye and how they have navigated their way through a tricky environment. They also talk about the importance of ensuring the other young members of the cast ensure they have the same advice they once got, and the responsibility that comes with it.

When The Thundermans aired its final episode on Nickelodeon in 2018, it went out the way it came in five years before: as a laugh-track-studded, half-hour comedy about a family of superheroes living in a fictional suburb called Hiddenville. The jokes were plentiful. The vibes were warm. The pet bunny was evil. (More on that in a moment.)

But when the idea of a reunion movie first came up years later, says Kira Kosarin, who played Thunderman teen daughter Phoebe in the original series, things looked and felt a lot different.

The kids are all grown up in The Thundermans Return, a revival movie that reunites the cast of the Nickelodeon series The Thundermans.

Created by Jed Spingarn, The Thundersmans was a superhero comedy series that followed the lives of the Thundermans, a superhero family doing their best to live normal lives in the city of Hiddenville. The show ran for four seasons from 2013 to 2018, at one point winning a Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Award for Favorite TV Show. It has since been revealed that the family is back in the reunion movie The Thundermans Return, which is coming to Nickelodeon and Paramount+ in March 2024. At Ccxp in Brazil on Saturday, the first teaser trailer for The Thundermans Return was unveiled, and it has been made available to watch online by Nickelodeon on YouTube.
