Michael C. Hall in Dexter (2006)
Dexter: Original Sin gets a behind-the-scenes featurette and shares a clip
Michael C. Hall in Dexter (2006)
The crime drama series Dexter originally aired on Showtime for eight seasons, from 2006 to 2013… and even though I had access to Showtime during those years, I completely missed out on it. The show was revived with a season called Dexter: New Blood in 2021, and now a prequel series called Dexter: Original Sin is set to begin airing on the Paramount+ streaming service as of this Friday, December 13th, with the Showtime premiere to follow on December 15th. With those dates nearly upon us, Showtime has shared a behind-the-scenes featurette, which can be seen in the embed above, as well as a clip from the show, which can be found at the bottom of this article.

In recent months, I have been endeavoring to catch up on Dexter, and I have been loving the show. I’m currently at the start of season 7, so I won’t be fully caught up...

Premiering on Dec. 15 on Showtime, Dexter: Original Sin will trace the formative years of everyone's favorite vigilante serial killer, who was first made famous by Michael C. Hall way back in 2006. Hall returns in the prequel series to voice the inner thoughts of his younger self, who is portrayed by Patrick Gibson. The new trailer for the series just premiered (seen below), which showcases all the murder, mayhem, and nostalgia we can expect this time around.

Based on what we know so far, Dexter: Original Sin is set 15 years before the first show, and will follow Dexter Morgan after he graduates from college, and is introduced by his father to everyone at Miami Metro as he begins his new career as a blood spatter analyst. The new trailer features those who...

Showtime’s Dexter returned to San Diego Comic-Con on Friday night with a very special guest in tow, Michael C. Hall.

Hall serves as narrator of the 90s-set series, which will premiere in December.

Additionally, Hall will star in Dexter: Resurrection, a new series that is set in present day and is a followup to the 2021 Dexter: New Blood. It will launch in summer 2025.

The Peripheral (2022)
The Peripheral & A League of Their Own Cancelled at Prime video, Reversing Season 2 Renewals
The Peripheral (2022)
Despite doing well in its first season, Prime Video has sadly reversed its renewal of The Peripheral.

The change of heart likely stemmed from the dual strikes occurring across the industry.

The series starred Chloë Grace Moretz as Flynne Fischer, a woman who discovered a secret connection to an alternate reality as well as a dark future of her own.

What is one of the first of likely many strike-related cancellations, The Peripheral seemed to fare well on the streamer.

Each week, Twitter would be abuzz with theories and praise for the show, especially for the performances from Moretz and one of the lead antagonists, played by T'Nia Miller.

With the WGA on strike for over 100 days and SAG-AFTRA on strike for over a month, we expect there to be many similar cases of reversals when it comes to renewed series that hadn't already begun production.

There are still...

But Phil Augusta Jackson, creator of NBC’s “Grand Crew,” he swears it’s based on his own friend group and the wine bar where they hung out… with a few liberties taken.

“When you have a hangout show like this, what we’re showing are the moments that they get to spend time together,” Jackson told IndieWire via Zoom. “They’re always at the bar, multiple times an episode, and that doesn’t necessarily feel like real life as far as the actual frequency. It can start to feel like they just, like, live at this place… but that’s what you have to do for storytelling.”

The show follows Noah (Echo Kellum), Nikki (Nicole Byer), Anthony (Aaron Jennings...

A League of Their Own: Season Two; Prime Video Baseball Series Reportedly Renewed for Four Final Episodes
A League of Their Own is returning to Prime Video for what may be its final season. The series has reportedly been renewed for an abbreviated second and final season of four episodes, per THR. A League of Their Own Returning for Truncated Final Season at Amazon
Geena Davis, Tom Hanks, and Madonna in A League of Their Own (1992)
The Rockford Peaches are set to return to Amazon Prime Video one last time.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, A League of Their Own is returning to the streaming service for a second and final season.

And it will be short.

The outlet alleges that A League of Their Own Season 2 will comprise just four episodes.

Amazon has not confirmed the renewal, but THR notes that deals are still being worked out.

As a result, we should expect a formal pickup when the deals are completed.

The road to renewal was reportedly complicated by renegotiations with Sony to lower the drama's licensing fee.

The cast also had to sign new deals because the season will be comprised of half the episodes of A League of Their Own Season 1.

While Amazon has not announced the pickup, it is set to be billed as a "limited series."

‘Grand Crew’ Season 2 Trailer: ‘This Season We Are Drinking Real Wine,’ Carl Tart Says (Exclusive Video)
Grand Crew (2021)
The gang is back for a second season of “Grand Crew” on March 3, and cast members Nicole Byer, Echo Kellum, Justin Cunningham, Aaron Jennings, Carl Tart and Grasie Mercedes break down what we can expect in this exclusive trailer for the NBC series.

Says Tart, “We heard your messages. We read the tweets. This season we are drinking real wine, so now we are drunk as skunks.”

In a scene from Season 2, which you can watch above, Wyatt (Cunningham) toasts the crew with a glass of water, even though everyone tells him it’s bad luck. Sure enough, he chokes on the water, his stool falls over and his pants split. When he sighs and says, “Someone get me a damn glass of wine,” every one of his friends offers their own glass.

NBC Delays ‘Found’ Premiere to Fall 2023
Shanola Hampton
NBC has delayed the premiere of criminal drama “Found” from a midseason launch on Feb. 19 to a fall 2023 premiere.

“Found,” which stars Shanola Hampton as public relations specialist Gabi Mosely, shines a light on the 600,000 people reported missing in the U.S. — more than half of which are people of color. As Gabi was once a forgotten missing person, her crisis management team works to ensure that no person becomes a faceless case. As Gabi relentlessly works to safeguard others’ wellbeing, a chilling secret of her own comes back to haunt her.

In addition to the shift, NBC has ordered additional scripts to showcase its commitment to the series.

“After watching the first few episodes of ‘Found,’ it quickly became clear that our love for this show has continued to grow and grow with each step of the process,” said Susan Rovner, chairman of Entertainment Content for NBCUniversal Television and Streaming.

‘A League of Their Own’ Amazon Series Sets August Premiere Date, Reveals First Look
Image
The “A League of Their Own” Amazon series based on Penny Marshall’s popular 1992 comedy film will premiere Aug. 12.

Amazon announced the news via a first look teaser, set to the classic Stevie Nicks song “Edge of Seventeen.” The teaser can be seen below.

Both the show and film version of “A League of Their Own” take place in 1943, the year that the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League was formed. The women’s league, a first of its kind in the sport, was created to keep baseball in the public consciousness after World War II saw the majority of male players drafted, essentially shutting down Major League Baseball. The show focuses on a different team than the one featured in the movie, in a completely separate storyline.

‘A League of Their Own’ Teaser: Abbi Jacobson Redefines Penny Marshall’s Grand Slam Baseball Dramedy
Image
There’s no crying in baseball, but the story of the Rockford Peaches is just getting started.

Amazon Studios and Sony Pictures Television are behind the re-imagining of Penny Marshall’s hit 1992 film “A League of Their Own.” The eight-episode series adaptation, co-created and executive produced by “Broad City” alum Abbi Jacobson and “Mozart in the Jungle” helmer Will Graham, will premiere at the 2022 Tribeca Film Festival before debuting on Prime Video August 12.

Centered on the real-life all-female traveling baseball league formed in 1943, “A League of Their Own” introduces entirely new characters separate from the film. Jacobson stars as Carson, a catcher who joins a team during WWII and seems to spark a romance with slugger Greta (D’Arcy Carden).

Nick Offerman plays the team’s coach, with original star Rosie O’Donnell returning as a bartender. Other players include Chanté Adams, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Roberta Colindrez, Saidah Arrika Ekulona, Kate Berlant, Kendall Johnson,...
