A kidnapping case on Swat causes emotions for the team
Image
The latest episode of Swat season 8 saw the team tackling a kidnapping case after a little girl went missing in front of her house. With very few leads to go on, one team member risked everything to find the girl before it was too late.

After a little girl named Gracie went missing, the team searched for her with the only lead to go on being a white vehicle with partial plates. In ruling out three vehicles, the team discovered one belonged to a man who appeared to be out of town. However, his neighbor Steve Owens appeared to give Zoe weird vibes as he answered questions she and Deacon had.

Her gut told her something was off and she convinced Deacon to question him further. Zoe thought she heard a child whimpering, but it was a dog. She did find food items that were the same kinds of food Gracie liked to eat.

‘Breaking Bad’ Actor Mike Batayeh Died By Hanging
Image
Actor Mike Batayeh passed away at the age of 56 at his home in Michigan on June 1. The cause of death has just been announced as “asphyxia hanging.”

His family originally announced that his cause of death was a “massive heart attack,” but this proved to be untrue. Steve Owens, Batayeh’s manager, also reaffirmed this statement.

His sisters spoke about their brother’s death, “He was a kind, sensitive, intelligent, and gifted soul. This is such a devastating loss of a huge life and Mike will be missed by us and so many people in all parts of the world.”

The police were called after he committed suicide, but it has not been released who called the police. They reported to his apartment on the third floor of his building based on a call for a “possible suicide.”

All that is known about the caller is that they are a male relative of Batayeh.

Gwyneth Paltrow Found Not Liable in Ski Crash Trial, Awarded Symbolic $1
Image
Gwyneth Paltrow is not liable for the injuries incurred by a man involved in a 2016 ski crash, Utah courts decided Thursday.

Following eight days of contentious testimony and a short deliberation, the case of Dr. Terry Sanderson — a retired optometrist who sued the actress for more than $3 million in 2019 before the amount was later reduced to $300,000 — was dismissed. Sanderson alleged Paltrow was skiing recklessly and crashed into him on the slopes of Utah’s Deer Valley Resort, resulting in a traumatic brain injury and other ongoing health issues.

“We are pleased with this unanimous outcome and appreciate the judge and jury’s thoughtful handling of the case,” said Paltrow’s attorney Steve Owens in a statement to press. “Gwyneth has a history of advocating for what she believes in – this situation was no different and she will continue to stand up for what is right.”

In another statement to press,...

Gwyneth Paltrow Wins One Whole Dollar in Ski Crash Trial
Image
Nearly everyone won in Gwyneth Paltrow’s trial over a supposed ski collision with a retired optometrist — well, except for him. The internet received an endless well of memes about the actress’ incredible lack of relatability and Paltrow herself was awarded $1 in damages from a countersuit against Terry Sanderson, 76, who claimed she left him with a brain injury, four broken ribs, and emotional damage after crashing into him while skiing at an Utah country club in 2016.

A jury sided with the actress on Thursday, deciding she was not at fault...

Gwyneth Paltrow’s Ski Accident Accuser Testifies: ‘No One Believed How Serious My Injuries Were’
Image
The retired optometrist who is suing Gwyneth Paltrow over a 2016 ski crash took the stand on Monday, telling the jury that he heard a “blood-curdling scream” just before being struck in the back.

Terry Sanderson is suing Paltrow for $300,000, and alleges that he was left with a concussion, four broken ribs and a brain injury.

Paltrow was the first to testify, telling the Utah jury last week that it was Sanderson who crashed into her. She said she became very upset and yelled “you skied directly into my fucking back.” Paltrow is countersuing for $1 and attorneys’ fees.

Sanderson testified on Monday that he was having an easy day on the hills until he heard the scream.

“I just remember everything was great and then I heard something I’ve never heard at a ski resort and that was a blood-curdling scream,” Sanderson said. He remembered thinking that it was “like...

Gwyneth Paltrow’s Jaw Drops When Lawyer Accuses Her Of Lying Under Oath In Ski Crash Case
Image
In one of the more explosive moments of the trial, Gwyneth Paltrow‘s jaw dropped in utter shock after opposing counsel accused the actress of lying multiple times while under oath.

The moment happened Friday as Paltrow took the stand for the first time in her ski collision trial brought forward by plaintiff Terry Sanderson in Park City, Utah, where Sanderson’s attorney, Kristin VanOrman, argued she should be allowed to question Paltrow whether she’s clumsy. And it was while making that argument when VanOrman said Paltrow has “lied under oath a number of times” in previous sworn depositions.

Paltrow’s jaw immediately dropped and she shook her head, as her attorney, Steve Owens, immediately got up and called the comment “slanderous” and wanted it withdrawn from the record. After admonishing Owens for talking over him, Judge Kent R. Holmberg asked VanOrman if she wanted to rephrase her statement,...

Gwyneth Paltrow’s Attorney Calls Out Camera Pointed Directly At Her On Day 2 Of Trial
Image
Gwyneth Paltrow’s legal team isn’t happy about a new camera in the courtroom.

“Your honour, we have a new camera pointed directly at my client, right there on the right, which I understand is from the AP,” attorney Steve Owens noted to the judge before proceedings began for the day.

Paltrow stood by her lawyer, appearing visibly annoyed by the press attention trained on her in the courtroom.

“And this has been a problem, for instance reporters being in front of my client’s car, going out yesterday. Cameras in her face,” the attorney added.

The judge acknowledged that he...

Gwyneth Paltrow Appears In Court As Trial Over 2016 Ski Accident Begins
Image
Actress and Goop CEO Gwyneth Paltrow appeared in court Tuesday for the first day of a civil trial over claims she seriously injured a man in a skiing accident in Park City, Utah, in 2016.

Terry Sanderson, a 76-year-old retired optometrist, filed the suit against Paltrow, alleging that the Shakespeare in Love actress caused a violent collision that left him seriously injured on the ground while she and her entourage continued their descent down the slopes, AP reported.

The lawsuit states that Paltrow crashed into Sanderson, “knocking him down hard, knocking him out, and causing a brain injury, four broken ribs, and other serious injuries.”

Sanderson initially sued for $3 million, but after that suit was dismissed, he amended his claim and is now seeking $300,000. Paltrow has filed a counterclaim, seeking legal fees and $1 in damages. The Oscar winner has alleged that Sanderson is overstating his injuries and trying to exploit her wealth and celebrity.

Gwyneth Paltrow’s Lawyer Slams ‘Meritless’ Lawsuit Over 2016 Ski Accident As ‘Utter Bs’
Image
Gwyneth Paltrow’s attorney is coming out swinging in defending the actress against a $300,000 lawsuit filed by a retired optometrist who alleges she was negligent in a 2016 accident at a Utah ski resort.

Sources told the New York Post that Paltrow is planning to take the stand in her own defense, after retired optometrist Terry Sanderson, 76, alleged she collided with him while skiing at Deer Valley Resort in Park City, Utah, “knocking him down hard, knocking him out.”

On Tuesday, The Associated Press reported, lawyers for both parties gave their opening statements. Lawrence Buhler, attorney for Sanderson, claimed that Paltrow took a “so what?” attitude after the collision while skiing, alleging the plaintiff experienced a “full body blow;” in Sanderson’s complaint filed in 2019, Sanderson alleged the accident left him with “permanent traumatic brain injury, 4 broken ribs, pain, suffering, loss of enjoyment of life.”
