He works at Hugs Not Thugs, a gang rehabilitation nonprofit, where he butts heads with his older cousin Luis (Frankie Quiñones), an ex-gang member who just got out of prison and moved in with Julio and his family.

The second season of the Hulu Original series from ABC Signature consisted of 10 episodes. Both seasons will continue streaming on the platform.

The Disney-owned streamer has opted to cancel This Fool after a two-season run, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. Chris Estrada created the series and starred as Julio Lopez, a 30-year-old who lives with his family and works at a gang rehab center.

Sources say This Fool will remain on Hulu’s platform after the streamer put a big marketing push behind both seasons of the series, which despite strong reviews, failed to find an audience large enough to justify a third season. Season two last aired in July 2023.

This Fool was produced in-house by Disney’s ABC Signature and was exec produced by Estrada, showrunner Jonathan Groff (Black-ish), Fred Armisen, Pat Bishop, Matt Ingebretson and Jake Weisman.

The late Norman Lear’s life and legacy took center stage tonight at the 2023 Sentinel Awards at the Writers Guild Theater in Beverly Hills.

The awards, which celebrate the storytellers behind some of the year’s most impactful stories, heard a statement from Lyn Lear read at the start of the show by Marty Kaplan, founding director of the Norman Lear Center.

“I would have been there tonight if not for the passing of our beloved Norman. He was so proud of the work of The Lear Center and Hollywood Health and Society. And he would not have wanted all of us to mourn. He would want us to celebrate the important shows you are honoring tonight, and most of all… he would want us to laugh.”

The night celebrated Lear’s lasting impact on television and the world, underlining his strong advocacy that television and storytelling makes a difference.

In a sad bit of coincidence, the Hollywood, Health & Society at the USC Annenberg Norman Lear Center honored its 2023 Sentinel Awards winners on Wednesday night, just hours after the passing of its namesake and inspiration, the legendary Norman Lear.

Prime Video dropped the official trailer for Tom Clancy’s “Jack Ryan,” the political thriller series is set to return with two episodes on Friday, June 30. The six-episode season will be available on the streamer, with the remaining four episodes dropping two each Friday, until the series finale on July 14.

It’s not quite optimism and it’s not quite contentment. But whatever fresh sentiment creeped into the third and final season of “Corporate,” its arrival was both a little surprising and totally logical.

Series stars Matt Ingebretson and Jake Weisman have always faced down the vein of drudgery inherent in the Comedy Central show’s premise with a helpful counterbalance. As Matt and Jake, the two conveniently-named upper-middle management executives at the world-devouring corporation Hampton DeVille, the pair have found sparks of energy in an environment that could have slid into sameness. Those tiny flickers initially sparked from simmering rage against a crushing force, but the prevailing attitude guiding this farewell season came from a slightly different place.

In the strange world of Hampton DeVille, things are still tenuous at best. For the criminally oversized multinational corporation that forms the backbone of the Comedy Central series “Corporate,” all is still not enough.

Junior executives in training Matt (Matt Ingebretson) and Jake (Jake Weisman) are still trudging through an office environment where breakroom coffee drama can still drive everyone in nearby cubicles to their breaking point. IP rights become a cutthroat game of chicken with Hampton DeVille’s rivals. And hallway gossip of course remains a fixture in all its forms.

For all the existential dread that’s blanketed “Corporate” since its premiere in 2018, at a point when that drudgery should feel more restrictive and hopeless than ever, there’s something about Season 3 that manages to find some peace amidst that daily buildup. Maybe part of it is that this last batch of six episodes is the show’s farewell.

Comedy Central has set a premiere date for the third and final season of “Corporate.”

The office comedy resumes July 22, and it will find Matt, Jake, Grace and the rest of Hampton DeVille facing the struggles of content creation, workplace conflicts, business trips and finally learning to climb the corporate ladder.

“For those stuck working from home and communicating by daily video conference calls, ‘Corporate’ offers a return to the comfort and nostalgia of the grim and soul-crushing office life everyone has come to desperately miss during social distancing,” Comedy Central teases.

Get ready for one more soul-sucking shift at Hampton DeVille, as Comedy Central has renewed their critically praised scripted comedy series Corporate for a third and final season.

The half-hour series, which debuted in 2017 as the highest-rated basic-cable primetime comedy of the 2017-18 season among males 18-34, saw viewership decline in Season 2, but critical marks soar; Corporate Season 2 currently sits at 100 percent on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes.

Comedy Central is getting out of business with soul-crushing multinational conglomerate Hampton DeVille.

The cable network on Monday announced that Corporate — one of TVLine’s Peak TV Treasures — has been renewed for a third and final season, to arrive in 2020.

First launched in January 2018, Corporate is a pitch-black workplace satire that chronicles the miserable lives of low-level executives Matt and Jake (played by co-creators Matt Ingebretson and Jake Weisman), who work at the aforementioned corporation. In the above promo, Matt types up an office memo to bring the staff up to speed on the Season 3 pick-up.

Comedy Central has renewed its workplace comedy “Corporate” for a third and final season.

The dark comedy stars Ingebretson and Weisman as Matt and Jake, two junior-executives-in-training who work for “your average, soulless multinational corporation.” Lance Reddick stars as the “tyrannical” CEO Christian DeVille, with Adam Lustick and Anne Dudek as his top lieutenants. Naming an episode of a comedy TV show “The Tragedy” is a big risk in itself. Doing it without serving that episode with a massive dose of sarcasm is another challenge entirely. Then again, after two seasons of their Comedy Central show, the team behind “Corporate” has had plenty of practice.

This week’s episode is a succinct expression of something that many Americans face on a daily basis: With so much trauma happening on a worldwide scale, how do you respond?

“If you are on the internet or alive right now, it’s all just constant tragedies and it’s a nightmare.
