Jimmy & Raghu Play Antagonists in ‘Vartak Nagar – A Story of Four Friends’
The gangster era of the 80’s is a principal layer in the upcoming film ‘Vartak Nagar’. The gangster played by Jimmy Shergill has a violent face off with the honest and upright mill union leader played by Raghu Ram.

Producer Amit Agarwal feels that the audience has not seen such a film in years. “Vartak Nagar is the story of four teenage boys set against the gangster era and the great Bombay mill strike of the 80s.” “Though I am based in Kolkata but I am happy teaming up with Kunal Kohli and debuting in Bollywood as a producer for this wonderful tale of friendship” says Amit.

Jimmy Shergill is upbeat about playing Bala Chavan, the local don. “I have never played a Maharashtrian don before. It was fun to play a character which is pure evil and also a bit disconcerting at times to play a character like Bala...

Jimmy Shergill and Raghu Ram Get Together for a Tale of Friendship “Vartak Nagar”
We all know about the Great Bombay Textile Mill Strike that shook Mumbai in 1982. It affected the lives of scores of people who revolted against the mill owners for increase in wages resulting in the shutting down of 80 mills and in the unemployment of 1,50,000 mill workers. And now, producer Amit Agarwal has teamed up with Kunal Kohli to give us a hard-hitting tale of friendship that survived through one of the most traumatizing period in Mumbai’s history.

“Vartak Nagar” is the story of the four friends Gajya, Satya, Raju and Savio. The film starts with the carefree lives of these kids. They live in Vartak Nagar and go to an English medium school. The fathers of Raju and Satya work in Sitaram mills. The Bombay mill strike of 1982 hits them badly and is the driver for the story of Vartak Nagar. The boys suddenly find themselves in adult like...

Karan Johar
Karan Johar Ranveer Singh Arjun Kapoor and others under scanner after AIBs Roast show
Karan Johar
In December last year, 4000 people were witness to one of the biggest and hottest celebrity roast shows ever with Aib's Knockout Roast session. While videos of the session that featured filmmaker Karan Johar went viral earlier this month generating immense hype of video sharing and social networking sites, we hear that the makers of the show have landed in hot water. In fact the Maharashtra Government and the Mumbai Police have initiated separate investigations into the show after complaints of the use of 'abusive and filthy' language.

This inquiry launched by the Mumbai Police comes after a four page written complaint had been lodged by Akhilesh Tiwari, president of the Brahman Ekta Seva Sanstha in Mumbai, at the Sakinaka police station, claiming that the trio of Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor and Karan Johar, along with other performers allegedly passed abusive and offensive remarks against one another and even at the audience.

10. Shekhar Ravjiani

Part of the killer and hit music director duo Vishal-Shekhar that have given us many a favorite song, Shekhar Ravjiani also is a fabulous singer. We heard him along with Chinmayi Sripada on the classic and oh so good love song ‘Zehnaseeb’ from Hasee Toh Phasee. Queen Music Review
Kangana Ranaut is making a big splash with her film Queen where she plays the vivacious character Rani, who ventures out on her honeymoon in Paris by herself. Already the promos have been creating some buzz for Vikas Bahl’s debut film for it’s fun storyline, Kangana’s charm, and of course that characteristic Amit Trivedi sound. This is the first soundtrack of the year for Trivedi, who creates a familiar breed of innovative and breezy songs that completely fit with that carpe-diem attitude of the film.

Initially, London Thumakda, sounded like a familiar riff of ‘Farukha Baadi’ from Trivedi’s other album Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana, however he manages to make this one a gem to listen to. Labh Janjua is in fine form with sisters Sonu and Neha Kakkar lending him ample support with their backing verses. Janjua and Trivedi are a fabulous pair, since Trivedi...

'Roadies X' launched, Raghu Ram says they've made history
New Delhi, Nov 2: "Roadies" is coming out with its 10th season and producer Raghu Ram says they have created history as nobody thought the adventure reality show will survive for a decade when it debuted in 2003.

"We are creating history. I believe so because in reality television nobody thought this would happen. This is the 10th year of the show. This is first reality show in India to hit season 10. Others don't go beyond two-three seasons," Raghu told Ians.

"There is something called format fatigue. Viewers get tired of it. All the other shows that I know of are based on international formats. Ours is an indigenous, original format," he added.

Raghu was here Friday with VJ-turned-actor Rannvijay Singh, who was.
