Ginger & Fed’s AFM slate led by divorce comedy ‘What Is Love?', crime drama ‘Unsubmissives’ (exclusive)

French sales outfit Ginger & Fed has boarded Fabien Gorgeart’s comedy drama What Is Love? (C’est Quoi l’Amour?) starring Laure Calamy and Vincent Macaigne as a long-divorced couple attempting to annul their Catholic marriage at the Vatican.

Ginger & Fed, the theatrical sales arm of French group Federation run by Sabine Chemaly, will kick off sales for the film at the American Film Market.

Lyes Salem, Melanie Thierry, Celeste Brunnquell and Saül Benchetrit round out the cast of the feature, which is shooting now and produced by Petit Film and Deuxième Lign.

Other Angle boards ‘Dressed To Impress’ from ‘La Famille Bélier’ creator Victoria Bedos (exclusive)

La Famille Bélier is the original French film adapted to Sian Heder’s Oscar-winning Coda.

Paris-based sales company Other Angle has boarded Victoria Bedos’ coming-of-age identity comedy-drama Dressed To Impress.

Bedos is the creator and co-writer of La Famille Bélier, the original French film adapted to Sian Heder’s Oscar-winning Coda that sold more than 7.45 million tickets during its 2014 run in France.

Dressed To Impress (French title: La Plus Belle Pour Aller Danser) is produced by Hélène Cases of France’s Lionceau Films and Universal will release the film in France on April 26th. Other Angle will kick off sales for the title at EFM.

Fox Nabs Dramedy Adaptation Of France’s ‘Quadras’ From Tom Kapinos, Sanaa Hamri & Endemol Shine As Put Pilot
Fox has given a put pilot commitment to Let’s Spend the Night Together, a one-hour dramedy inspired by the French series Quadras, from Californication creator Tom Kapinos, Empire director and executive producer Sanaa Hamri, Endemol Shine North America and 20th Century Fox TV, where Hamri is under an overall deal.

Written by Kapinos, inspired by the French series Quadras from Endemol Shine France, Let’s Spend the Night Together is described as a structurally inventive dramedy, in which the entire first season takes place over the course of single night at a wedding. As we get to know the wedding party, we’ll learn surprising reveals about both their present and past. We’ll see that things aren’t always what they seem and explore the complicated bonds of love, friendship and family at different stages of life.
