Zanna Cardash was born and raised in London, and is now based in Bath, UK. An actor and then advertising copywriter, she's now a playwright and screenwriter.
Her first plays were performed by a cast of other eight-year-olds in the garden. Today, she has a Master's in Scriptwriting and a raft of award-winning plays and screenplays under her belt, with laurels from the Austin and ISA Fast Track Fellowship, where she was a Top 50 Finalist.
She's particularly interested in stories that challenge assaults on human values and are laden with sexual tension. Her themes usually feature protagonists who unexpectedly find themselves fighting in the name of equality, balance and truth.
Additionally, she teaches playwriting and screenwriting via her company, SCRIPTWRITERS & CO. They offer coverage, courses and scriptwriting retreats and table reads, live or on Zoom, and competitive pro bono Scratch Nights.
Zanna also runs and hosts the annual SCRIPTWRITERS & CO INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL, sponsored by Final Draft. As part of this, she directs an auditioned company of 30+ other professional S&CO Actors, who perform winners' work on Zoom, stage and screen.
Peripheral stuff? She's published a contentious fact-based novel under a pseudonym and edits non-fiction books. Additionally, she writes short and longform blank and rhyming verse in strict metre, and has won several poetry competitions, various silver cups, a bit of cash and three international flights.
