Beta Film’s ‘30 Days Of Lust’ Lands French Remake
Image
Exclusive: Ard and Beta Film’s 30 Days of Lust is being remade in France.

French director Émilie Noblet is working on the remake, which will be produced by Black Sheep Films. No network is attached as of yet.

30 Days of Lust follows former high school sweethearts Freddy (Linda Blümchen) and Zeno (Simon Steinhorst), who are both about to turn 30. A daring experiment puts a long-term relationship to the test: Freddy and Zeno agree to 30 days of sex with whomever they want. Throughout the experiment, awkward dates and bizarre encounters create suspicion between them, while moments of tenderness emerge amidst the emotional rollercoaster.

Beta also sold finished tape of the series to Nos’ TVCine channels for Portugal and several Portuguese-speaking African countries, along with streaming service Seznam for Czech Republic, in addition to the sale to Sbs Australia unveiled earlier this year.

The show is...

‘Zorro’ Rides Into Le Havre, Brings Down Curtain on Unifrance Rendez-Vous With Gran Fiesta
Image
In realizing the latest incarnation of “Zorro,” producer Marc Dujardin found inspiration in the classic 1950s series starring Guy Williams, the absurd premise of super hero tales, and the fond childhood dreams he shared with brother Jean, who portrays the buttoned-up mayor of early 19th-century Los Angeles, Don Diego de la Vega, and his masked and care-free alter ego.

“Zorro” stormed into Le Havre on Thursday, where it closed the Unifrance Rendez-Vous market with a highly anticipated premiere, followed by a dance floor-pumping Alta California-themed fiesta, replete with delectable Spanish and Mexican cuisine à la normande.

Produced by Marc Dujardin’s Le Collectif 64 for France Télévisions and Paramount+, “Zorro” offers a comedic yet straight take on the legendary swashbuckler of old California.

The series sees Don Diego becoming mayor of Los Angeles with the hope of improving his beloved city. Facing growing, unstoppable corruption, however, he decides to again suit...

Prizes to Bulgaria, China and Canada as Clermont Ferrand International Short Film Festival draws to a close.Scroll down for full list of winners

This year’s Clermont Ferrand International Short Film Festival has wrapped with an outlook that juxtaposes the gloomy with the optimistic.

During the closing night ceremony of the world’s biggest shorts festival, Jean-Claude Saurel - the president of organiser Sauve qui peut le Court Métrage - took the opportunity to lament the continuing cuts in budgets for French culture and cultural organisations and urged people to help protest against the current policies of the French administration.

However, with audiences for the festival at approximately 160,000 (up more than 5,000 from the previous year), there was still a sense of cautious celebration for the state of short film in France and beyond.

The festival’s International Grand Prix went to Bulgarian/German co-production Pride, Pavel Vesnakov’s powerfully acted story about a retired grandfather who finds...
