  • Ray played the role of a delivery man in Fatal Frames (2009), and his short film A Future of Fortune (2009).
  • Ray's younger brother Eric Roman was cast as Young Charles' Friend in Heaven's Messenger (2008), directed by Russ Emanuel starring John Heard.
  • Ray's sister Brittney Roman was in the pop music trio known as Bittersweet, that was started in 2003 with Vanessa Hudgens. After Hudgens moved on from the group Melissa Reyes joined the group. Years later Reyes won 1st runner up on the reality show The Pussycat Dolls Present: The Search for the Next Doll (2007). Ray put together promotional DVDs, and web videos for the pop group up until 2007 when his sister Brittney moved on to a solo career. Brittney went on to perform on the S.E.A.P. school tour in Los Angeles; Ray continued to make monthly webisodic videos highlighting the tour.
  • Won best in show, best cinematography, and best artistic/experimental film at the 2009 Carlsbad Media Carnival, 48 Hour Film Festival for a short film he worked on in college titled Fatal Frames (2009). The short also won best in show, and best in class at the California State Fair in Del Mar, CA.
  • Director Ray Roman was nominated for best cinematography in the music video category at the first ever 2014 San Diego Film Awards for the Monkeys in Space: Supermodel Suitcase (2014) music video.
  • In the late 90s around the age of ten, Ray asked his mother if she could buy him a disposable Kodak camera. She bought him a disposable camera and he directed her to take photos of him reenacting "WWF" inspired wrestling moves with his sister. Later he got the pictures developed, organized them into a flip book, creating motion with the images. This was technically his first scene he's directed and acted in without any knowledge of what a director was.

  • Before Ray Roman began producing videos with David Kano of The Hollywood MMA Show in 2013, he originally met Kano on the set of Finding Destiny (2008) accompanying his sister Brittney Roman who played the role of Destiny. Brittney also acted on a short film with David Kano in the early 2000s, titled Until the End.
  • After creating the Northstar: American Living (2005) music video, Ray contacted the band through Myspace for their permission to submit the video using their song into the BestFest America Student Film Festival. The band granted Ray their permission and simply stated "it looks nice". The band never shot a music video for "American Living" and broke up in 2007. With nearly 20,000 views on YouTube, Ray's take on the song could be considered the unofficial music video for Northstar's "American Living".
  • My Imaginary Friend (2006) was a short film Ray co-directed with childhood friend Brandon Mackey in their first year in college. The short was shot and edited outside of the classroom, but the assignment was to include a scene using the newsroom equipment to direct and edit a scene live. They never saw the final version of the film, but Ray wrote the short with the intentions of the majority of the film to be completed outside of the classroom; allowing the film to make sense with or without the live recording.
  • In college Ray came up with his pitch for A Future of Fortune (2009) the night before presenting it to the class. Each student was assigned to write and present their treatment to the class and out of 25+ pitches, 5 would be selected to turn into a short film for the final project. Ray's treatment was one of the 5 selected, voted by the class. The film was originally set to be a drama but after rewriting the script it became a romantic comedy.
  • Ray Roman has made contributions toward GoFundMe, Indiegogo and Kickstarter campaigns that were successfully funded, which include Joe Wilson's "PlayShorts" anthology series, The Cossack Whip (1916), I'm the Same (2014), Wish I Was Here (2014), A Greener Pasture (2015), The Appointment (2015), Things Happen (2015), Phobic (2015), Film InDiego (2016), The Highway (2016), I'll Push You: A Real-Life Inspiration (2017), The Last Scout (2017), Beyond the Bolex (2017), Red Spring (2017), Dealt (2017), Huell Howser's Greatest Hits, Super Troopers 2 (2018), Rock Rubber 45s (2018), Cypress Hill: Insane in the Brain (2022), and Humankindness - The Animal Dilemma. Ray also contributed towards the Finish Orson Welles' Last Film campaign on Indiegogo to help complete Orson Welles film The Other Side of the Wind (2018), the campaign was only funded by 41% in 2015 but eventually the film was released on Netflix in November of 2018. Additionally, to the independently produced short film 'A Cigarette Chat' to be produced in San Diego, California in 2025.
  • Ray Roman has donated to The Film Foundation towards Alfred Hitchcock's The Ring (1927), William Wyler's Dodsworth (1936), and Vittorio De Sica's Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow (1963). The Film Foundation regularly partners with the American film archives on the restoration of "lost" or endangered films. Ray is a classic movie buff and believes the preservation of these films are important for future generations to see.
  • Two in the Chamber (2005) is playing on the television in the short film Mere Mortals when the character Nena receives an alarming phone call. Two In The Chamber was a short film Ray worked on as a cinematographer, and editor for director Earl Hamilton Jr..

  • In 2004 Ray Roman was apart of the first Digital Media after school program at Poway High School. The class of 2005 graduate also participated in the first Eye On The Art Film Festival held at the Poway Center for the Performing Arts, placing 3rd for the experimental short film "Insomnia".
  • Raymond J. Roman contributed to Movie Cloud in 2012; a global, one-stop, open architecture, web-centered movie studio founded by Dov Simens of the Hollywood Film Institute, and Derek Christopher. Unfortunately, Movie Cloud(TM) was unable to launch but the effort to change the way independent films are produced, distributed and watched was recognized by the Huffington Post, NBC News, and other media outlets.
  • In 2016 Ray filmed MMA Now talk show at The Famous Canter's Deli in Los Angeles with David Kano, Pete Antico, and Kevin Casey.
  • Ray Roman created the first 360-degree video at the U.S./Mexico Border from the United States. He created the 2nd 360-degree video at the U.S./Mexico border. (Information based on YouTube upload dates).

  • June 3, 2016 -- Ray was in the audience during the taping of Wolf Cola: A Public Relations Nightmare (2017) while covering UFC 199: Rockhold vs Bisping 2 for MMA Now TV. Within the scene Rob McElhenney, and Charlie Day's characters are promoting "Fight Milk" as they rush the stage during the UFC weigh-ins of Donald Cerrone and Cub Swanson (both fighters were not actually fighting on the UFC 199 card).
