The Indonesian Film Festival will be held from April 14th until the 20th at the Australian Center for the Moving Image, in the beautiful city of Melbourne.

The 11th Indonesian Film Festival (Iff) will be screening eight films, spanning a variety of genres from social realist drama, to comedy and horror, with explorations of Lgbt and religious issues in modern Indonesian society. The festival will have a Gala Meet & Green on April 13th at The Crafty Squire Melbourne (127 Russell St, Melbourne) at 5:30 pm (Booking required). This year the Iff Brand Ambassador and Special Guest is the award-winning actress Tara Basro. The Sun, The Moon & The Hurricane marks the first feature by young Indonesian indie film director Andri Cung after his directing gig in 3Sum, an anthology consisting of three short films with three different genres that released theatrically in Indonesia earlier this year.  His previous short film Red Umbrella is pretty impressive, winning Best Asian Short Film at Screen Singapore in 2011.Sendi Sugiharto (Lovely Man, Shackled), the executive producer, stated: "It's rare that a wonderful story, which has the right elements that touch your heart promptly, comes your way. The 12th Osian’s Cinefan Film Festival, New Delhi (27 July to 5 August 2012) will open with Japanese director Keiichi Sato’s “Asura” and close with Rituparno Ghosh’s “Chitragandha”.

Festival announced its competition lineup and highlights on Wednesday.

According to the official press release the festival will present 15 World premieres, 8 International premieres, 104 Indian premieres and 13 Asian premieres from China, Estonia, Indonesia, Iran, Israel, Japan, Philippines, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, Morocco and Algeria among other Asian and Arab countries.
