Many Disney films, and by extention Pixar Animation productions, take place in fantastical worlds, but they don't sugarcoat harsh realities.

Fortunately, the saddest Disney movies don't really get on the level of something like "Manchester by the Sea," where it becomes unbearable to watch at a certain point. Disney films at least end on an uplifting note, proving that no matter how sad life gets, there's always a silver lining. Still, the following movies can be tough to get through, especially if you're at a point in life where you can really relate to losing a parent or going through a pet's death.

Almost Family, or Familia, Pero no Mucho, in Portuguese, is a new Brazilian comedy-drama film on Netflix that uses the much-discussed rivalry between Brazilians and Argentines to tell a story of love and trust. The plot follows Otavio, a Brazilian restaurateur who is simply shocked when his daughter, Mariana, expresses her desire to marry an Argentine man, and his woes during the vacation trip to Bariloche as he has to get to know the in-laws better. Overall, Almost Family is a casual comedy film that is not meant to be taken seriously and is fine for a single watch.

A YouTube star from Brazil has pulled off a major coup in the realm of sports broadcasting. When the FIFA World Cup returns for its next tournament, Casemiro Miguel‘s CazéTV will have the broadcast rights for all 104 matches.

CazéTV, operated by Miguel alongside agency LiveMode, will give Brazilians free access to the 2026 edition of soccer’s biggest stage. Miguel will host the proceedings himself, with a parade of ex-players, creators, and pundits joining his broadcasts. Coverage of the matches will be supported by behind-the-scenes content and post-match wrap-ups.

The YouTube-based broadcasts will not supplant traditional rights holders. In Brazil, TV Globo will continue to air the World Cup, as it has done every four years since 1970. The arrangement is similar to the one that applied to the 2022 World Cup, when TV Globo covered all the games and CazéTV streamed a handful of matchups.

“Love Island: Beyond The Villa” is a new spinoff from Peacock’s mega-hit reality dating show “Love Island USA,” which set to premiere on Sunday, July 13. The new series follows the Season 6 islanders around Los Angeles as they navigate new careers, evolving friendships, newfound fame and complex relationships outside of the “Love Island” villa.

"Karate Kid: Legends" is a whole lot of movie. More specifically , this "Karate Kid" legacy sequel is two different movies awkwardly stitched together. Directed by John Entwistle, "Legends" serves as a sequel to both the 1984 "The Karate Kid" and the 2010 reboot/remake of the same name starring Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan.

In "Legends," the new "karate kid" is not actually a complete underdog; in fact, he has a lot of experience in kung fu. Ben Wang stars as Li Fong, who moves from the big city to a smaller place, gets a crush on a girl, and makes an enemy out of her violent karate-enthusiast ex-boyfriend. Except, there's more to this movie than that, and that includes a bizarre subplot about Li coaching his new girlfriend's dad to utilize kung fu in a boxing match.

Of course, Li also enters a karate tournament himself because it wouldn't be a "Karate Kid" movie without one.

As reported by Deadline, Kove bit fellow actor Alicia Hannah-Kim on the arm when she passed by him at a meet-and-greet table at the convention. When she screamed in pain, Kove tried to comfort her by kissing her arm, which was already showing signs of bruising. Per Hannah-Kim's statement to law enforcement:

"He grabbed my arm again to kiss it… I pulled my arm away and rushed back to my table."

D’Angelo has canceled his highly anticipated comeback performance at the 2025 Roots Picnic in Philadelphia.

The headlining slot was supposed to be D’Angelo’s first public performance to an audience in nearly a decade, but in a statement posted to Instagram on Friday night, the Black Messiah singer explained that he “must cancel” the appearance “due to an unforeseen medical delay regarding surgery” he had earlier this year.

Continuing, D’Angelo wrote that it’s “nearly impossible” to express how disappointed he is to miss the performance, and thanked his fans for their continued support.

D’Angelo announced on Friday evening that he would not be performing at this year’s Roots Picnic in Philadelphia.

The singer shared his “disappointment” in an Instagram post on the Roots Picnic’s social media. D’Angelo wrote that due to an “unforeseen medical delay” following a surgery he had earlier this year, he was advised by his specialist team that the weekend performance “could further complicate matters.”

In the same post, the festival captioned, “Due to a longer-than-expected surgical recovery, @thedangelo won’t be able to join us at Roots Picnic this year.
