Sad news was confirmed by NCIS: Los Angeles star Eric Christian Olsen and his family.
The Palisades Fire burned down the home where Eric, his wife Sarah, and their three children had lived.
California has been plagued by wildfires this month. Firefighters continue to battle against the elements to put out those fires.
“Anybody have room for three kids and three dogs? Two of which have to be separated at all times. Also Wyatt’s Lego collection and Esme’s mermaids,” Eric wrote in a post earlier in December.
He couldn’t have known that his worry about a previous fire in the area would give way to something else as January arrived.
At the time, Eric received many kind messages from folks, including his former co-star on NCIS: Los Angeles, Daniela Ruah.

Any business can be anxiety-inducing, especially the ones that have a whole lot of people ready to rip you apart to make their place. Director Austin Peters’ “Skincare” stars Elizabeth Banks as Hope Goldman, a middle-aged woman trying to make a name for herself in the world of Hollywoodland’s ever-growing line of Beauty Products. However, right before the launch of her own line, a competitor arrives just next door, and out of nowhere, someone starts to jeopardize the name she has built for herself after years of straight-faced networking and star-gazed buttering up.
The tone that Peters uses for the movie is a mix of camp and corporate politics and the way fame and name work in a place like Hollywood. It works for a large part of the film, although it could have gone a little darker and more profound.
In the following article, we will examine Skincare,...

2025 is off to a slow start for cinema fans subscribed to AMC+, with the streaming platform only adding two new movies in January, though coming down from the holidays, you may be too distracted with new gadgets to notice. Still, the minor offering should not entirely put viewers off, as they get two choice films in the Elizabeth Banks-led thriller Skincare and a current frontrunner for the 2025 Oscars for Best Animated Feature in Memoir of a Snail. Looking into AMC's extended network, Shudder brings some great New Year chills in Get Away, Grafted, and Dark Match.
Those wanting more content should note that AMC+ will be running a spotlight to coincide with the release of the second season of Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches Season 2 called "Wicked: Stories of Magic and Mystery" This spotlight will highlight all the witch-themed titles on AMC+ and Shudder. NCIS is one of the most popular TV shows, and for good reason, but there are also many similar shows that deserve the same attention. NCIS has been on the air for over 20 years and has also led to the formation of several NCIS spinoffs. The show has managed to maintain its popularity despite numerous cast changes and character exits, highlighting the success of its formula. Recent NCIS seasons have even revealed the exit of major main characters, demonstrating its ongoing development.
NCIS's popularity over the years can be attributed to its familiarity, routine, and likable characters. However, NCIS is just one of many procedural TV shows that highlight charismatic characters who work together to bring criminals to justice. The niche of NCIS is that it focuses on crimes related to Navy and Marine Corps personnel, and while every show has its own focus, there are a few crime...

Lewis Pullman is following up his Emmy-nominated turn in Lessons in Chemistry with two very cool genre movies the edgy "sunshine noir" of Skincare, and the highly-anticipated film adaptation of Stephen King's Salem's Lot. In the former, he stars opposite Elizabeth Banks as Jordan, an aspiring influencer who may be in over his head as he tries to achieve his own brand of stardom in modern Los Angeles. In Salem's Lot, he leads the film as writer Ben Mears, who returns to his hometown and discovers that it's been infiltrated by a vampire. There's been some controversy surrounding the project, as the studio decided to pull its theatrical release and bring it straight to Max, even though King took to social media to sing its praises.
And Pullman confirmed to us that it's indeed a successful end result. "I'm excited about it. I saw it, and it's a blast,...

Releasing a music video with Orville Peck, Beck, and Sharon Stone one month, and a glossy and glamorous film with Elizabeth Banks and Lewis Pullman another month, filmmaker Austin Peters is doing it all, and with style. We spoke with him recently about his new movie Skincare, which is now playing in theaters and stars that wildly talented aforementioned cast.
The satirical thriller's storyline involves a beauty salon owner's rivalry with another nearby business, which escalates to the point of violent threats. If the plot sounds over-the-top, just remember, so if life some of the events actually happened in Hollywood circa 2014. Well, kind of. "It's really just loosely inspired by some of those events," Peters told MovieWeb. "Early on, we sort of wanted to just make it its own thing and its own movie. And so once there was that sort of point of departure, you know, we basically never returned to it again.

Lewis Pullman stars in the new mystery thriller Skincare as an eccentric influencer-type named Jordan. Pullman drew inspiration from Justin Timberlake for his role but went a bit overboard and had to find a balance in portraying the character. Skincare is a satire about a rivalry between renowned aestheticians, also with Elizabeth Banks.
Lewis Pullman (Top Gun: Maverick) stars in the darkly funny new mystery thriller Skincare, which is now playing in theaters. He plays an eccentric and ambitious influencer-type named Jordan who wants to help his renowned beautician pal, Hope (played by Elizabeth Banks), when a competing salon opens across the street from her business. It's a rich role and could be Pullman's finest performance to date and he drew from a boy band pop singer for it. Elizabeth Banks delivers a stellar performance in Skincare, delving into themes of success and self-sabotage in Hollywood. The film offers a unique take on the beauty and film industries, blending humor and darkness effectively. Despite being slightly shallow, Skincare is a solid noir thriller with funny moments and a compelling narrative.
Elizabeth Banks' new satirical thriller, Skincare, sees the actress brilliantly combine her comedic and dramatic chops in a biting take on success in a purportedly shallow industry. Her character, Hope Goldman, is a Hollywood aesthetician who seemingly has everything until a plot surfaces to take her down. Skincare is the director Austin Peters' first narrative feature, but he handles the story and film with the practiced hands of someone who knows their way around Hollywood. It's interesting to see how he juxtaposes the color and glamour of Los Angeles with the darkness at the center of his tale.

We spoke to Elizabeth Banks about her new movie Skincare, where she plays an ambitious but anxiety-stricken beauty salon owner in Hollywood. It's a deliciously dark study on the far reaches that business owners will go for the sake of success, especially in the crowded beauty industry in sunny, plastic Los Angeles. Between Skincare and Demi Moore's new buzzy film The Substance, our perpetual striving for beautification is clearly a hot topic in Hollywood these days.
"There's a lot to be said about aging and beauty and all of that right now, especially online, especially as it applies to social media and what it's doing to our psyche about aging, as everything can be filtered and everybody can be Botoxed, and everything can be filled," Banks told MoiveWeb. Skincare is a cleverly directed thriller that satirizes the cutthroat world of beauty and Hollywood glamor. Elizabeth Banks' award-worthy performance leads a wonderful cast who all get developed and explored in interesting ways, though we needed more Lewis Pullman. Skincare is a sharp satire that blends mystery, crime, and thriller elements to great effect, at least until a disappointing ending.

Quick Links What Is Skincare About? Who Is Dawn DaLuise? How Skincare Adapts DaLuise's Story
Bowing theatrically on August 16, 2024, the adage "life imitates art" applies to the new Elizabeth Banks movie Skincare. Only the filmmakers claim they weren't aware of its real-life inspiration while producing the thriller. In one of the most bizarre stories in recent Hollywood memory, a professional facialist named Dawn DaLuise accused Skincare of stealing her life story and adapting her tale without her consent.
Although Banks and director Austin Peters maintain the parallels to DaLuise's story are purely accidental, the similarities are too stark to ignore. As such, it's worth delving into the specifics of DaLuise's true story and how much Skincare appropriates her life without permission. An ultimate tale of rivalry and revenge, whether unwittingly adapting DaLuise's story, Skincare explores the importance of keeping up appearances in a glitzy town like Hollywood.

A retrospective of “NCIS: Los Angeles”‘s 14 seasons will air after the series finale on Sunday, May 21 on CBS, the network announced on Friday. The special, which will be hosted by Entertainment Tonight’s Kevin Frazier, will also be available to stream live and on demand on Paramount+.
Showrunner and executive producer R. Scott Gemmill thanked the network for giving him “an extra episode” to wrap up the show, which debuted on Sept. 22, 2009.
“Wrapping up a series is always bittersweet. We were blessed to have 14 seasons together, so bringing it to a satisfying end was extremely challenging after so many years. Fortunately, CBS was gracious enough to give us an extra episode in order to send off our characters in a way befitting their stories that hopefully the fans find both satisfying and hopeful,” Gemmill said.

In an emotional post, Daniela Ruah announced the series wrap of NCIS: Los Angeles. The show premiered on CBS in 2009, tracking members from LA's Office of Special Projects - a Naval Criminal Investigative Service division that deals with undercover assignments and surveillance. Much like NCIS, the spinoff became successful, generating consistent ratings over the course of 14 seasons. In addition to Ruah, who portrays Special Agent Kensi Blye, the series also stars LL Cool J, Chris O'Donnell, Eric Christian Olsen, Medalion Rahimi, Linda Hunt, and Gerald McRaney.
It was confirmed earlier this year that NCIS: Los Angeles would end after season 14. In a recent Instagram post, Ruah shared that filming had wrapped.

“NCIS: Los Angeles” is coming to a close. CBS announced on Friday that the currently airing 14th season of the drama would be its last, with the series finale set to air on May 14.
The series premiered in 2009 as the second installation of the “NCIS” franchise, preceded by the still-running “NCIS” and followed by “NCIS: New Orleans,” which ran from 2014 to 2021, and “NCIS: Hawaiʻi,” which premiered in 2021 and is currently airing its second season. “NCIS: Sydney” is set to premiere this year.
Set in the high-stakes world of a division of NCIS that is charged with apprehending dangerous and elusive criminals who pose a threat to the nation’s security, “NCIS: Los Angeles” follows Sam Hanna (LL Cool J), Grisha Callen and their team as they go undercover to take down their targets and protect national interests. One of CBS’ longest-running scripted shows, NCIS: Los Angeles, will be coming to an end after 322 episodes. Its current 14th season will be the show’s last, with the series finale set for May 14, airing on the network and streaming live and on demand on Paramount+.
The NCIS spinoff, starring LL Cool J and Chris O’Donnell, is tied as the fifth longest-running CBS primetime scripted series ever, only behind Gunsmoke, Lassie, CSI and Criminal Minds. Among the four, the two shows that have aired in the last 50 years, CSI and Criminal Minds, both have since been revived, which bodes well for NCIS: Los Angeles‘ future.
Additionally, NCIS: Los Angeles is a rare long-running procedural drama to have had its original leads, LL Cool J and O’Donnell, stay on for the entire run. Both have spoken publicly about their commitment to the series, which hit the 300 episode milestone last May, and their fellow cast members.

In a first of its kind crossover event, CBS is bringing together NCIS, NCIS: Hawai’i, and NCIS: Los Angeles, making it an NCISverse, and it looks like the episodes are filming now! In new images shared by TVLine, the cast from the franchise seems like having too much fun. In one image Daniela Ruah, Yasmine Al-Bustami, Medalion Rahimi, and Vanessa Lachey strike a Charlie Angels pose. Without giving away too much, Lachey, Brian Dietzen, Jason Antoon, and Chris O’Donnell are seen banded together for a scene from their NCIS: Hawai’I episode. Another image sees Ruah, Wilmer Valderrama, and Lachey candidly chatting behind the scenes.

“Never in my wildest dreams did I think we’d get to 300,” says “NCIS: Los Angeles” star Chris O’Donnell in a video shared exclusively with TheWrap ahead of the CBS drama’s landmark episode, which airs Sunday, May 8.
Co-star LL Cool J, who has played Special Agent Sam Hanna on the military procedural since its 2009 debut, adds with a smile: “I mean, it’s historical, right? It’s rarefied air.”

The episode, titled “Work & Family,” sees the NCIS team launch an investigation after two men are blown up by their own explosives while attempting to break into a military base. Richard Gant of “Rocky V” and “Men of a Certain Age” guest stars as Sam’s father, Raymond. Vyto Ruginis, who plays retired Kgb agent Arkady Kolcheck,...
