With YouTube‘s NFL Sunday Ticket deal set to kick off in September, ESPN is making a big bet on a prominent football influencer. The Worldwide Leader in Sports has inked a partnership with Pat McAfee, the ex-NFL punter who now hosts an eponymous show that hits YouTube each weekday.

The Pat McAfee Show is co-hosted by McAfee and other former football pros, including A.J. Hawk and Darius Butler. With his bold attitude and sense of humor, McAfee has become a hit with sports fans on YouTube, reaching 2.2 million subscribers. His show has also been bolstered by Hawk’s longtime teammate Aaron Rodgers, who has made regular (and sometimes contentious) appearances on the show.

Pat McAfee Signs Multi-Year Contract Extension With WWE

Pat McAfee is staying in business with WWE.

The sports entertainment giant has announced that McAfee has signed a multi-year extension of his contract. He will continue to serve as a member of the commentary team on “SmackDown Live” alongside Michael Cole. Specific terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“Very few can transition from professional athletics to entertainment the way [Pat McAfee] has,” Paul “Triple H” Levesque wrote on Twitter. “In short, he ‘gets it’ & the authenticity he brings to his fans & the WWE Universe is the same he brings to every facet of his life. A pleasure working with him.”

McAfee has proven to be incredibly popular with WWE fans going back to his initial appearances with the company in 2018. He has been a permanent fixture on the “SmackDown” commentary desk since 2021. Clubhouse Funds Slate Of Original Audio Pilots

Clubhouse, the buzzy audio social network, is moving into original programming.

The platform, which has seen an influx of members from Hollywood over the last twelve months, is funding a slate of audio pilots.

The scheme will see it hand a slew of creators $5,000 a month for three months and a panel of judges will listen to each pilot with some chosen to go forward as Clubhouse-backed shows on an ongoing basis. All Clubhouse members will be able to listen to the pilots (see full list below). Creators will retain all IP to their shows.

Its Creator First Pilot Season is designed to help support new voices on the platform and the company says this is just the “beginning of a significant wave of new programming”.
