After rebooting Superman with David Corenswet, James Gunn is already planning new films with Batman and Wonder Woman. As per DC Studios’ co-ceo, they are currently shuffling through the perfect script to make these movies. However, before Gunn took over, Gal Gadot portrayed Wonder Woman for years. Even though the actress initially claimed she was in talks for the next movie that Gunn and Peter Safran were about to make, it was later cancelled.

Soon, the news about Gadot’s exit from the Studios started to surface everywhere. As Gunn recently addressed whether there’s a chance of a Wonder Woman movie in the future, AI art showing how Alexandra Daddario would be perfect for the role went viral online.

Sci-Fi Thriller That Took 5 Years To Release Is Now A Hit On Streaming
Image
A sci-fi thriller has now become a success on streaming after a long road to actually releasing. From small budgets to big-budget blockbuster fare, sci-fi remains a dependable genre with wide audience appeal. The genre often transports viewers to an alternate version of reality, showing advanced technology or possible futures.

Sci-fi movies have been a staple of the theatrical space for decades. From early cult classics like Blade Runner (1982) to Christopher Nolan's acclaimed and beloved Interstellar (2014), these movies are often built for the big screen.

In today's streaming-dominant era, however, audiences are also likely to see some sci-fi flicks go straight to streaming. The Gorge (2025), for example, was released directly onto Apple TV+ in February and The Electric State (2025) hit Netflix in March.

A direct-to-streaming release can sometimes make a movie feel like less of a cultural event, but that certainly doesn't mean it can't reach viewers. Often, sci-fi...

Long-Delayed Sci-Fi Film That's Destined to Become a Cult Classic Is Crushing the Global Streaming Charts
Image
An underrated 2024 sci-fi film is about to take over the streaming charts.

Per Flix Patrol, 2024's Long Distance (also known as Distant) starring Anthony Ramos and Naomi Scott has officially reached the number three spot on the streaming chart for the top films on Hulu. As of the time of writing, Long Distance sits just behind In the Lost Lands and The Amateur in second and first place, respectively, while standing just above the recently released stand-up comedy special from Zarna Garg, Practical People Win.

Directed by Josh Gordon and Will Speck from a screenplay by Spenser Cohen, Long Distancestart Anthony Ramos as Andy Ramirez, an asteroid miner who crash lands on an alien planet. Quickly losing oxygen and unable to fully rely upon his suit's artificial intelligence, L.E.O.N.A.R.D., voiced by Zachary Quinto, Andy seems fated to a slow and lonely end in the far reaches of space.

Blood Orange Announces New Album Essex Honey, Shares Two New Songs: Stream
Image
Blood Orange has announced his first new album in six years, Essex Honey, out on August 29th via RCA. He’s also revealed two new songs, “Mind Loaded” and “Somewhere in Between.”

Essex Honey is Dev Hynes first album as Blood Orange since 2019’s Angel’s Pulse, and his first new music offering since 2022’s Four Songs EP — which also served as his RCA Records debut. Essex Honey finds Hynes diving into his childhood growing up outside of the Essex region in England, with a press release describing the project as a “soundtrack created from a dreamscape of his journey working through grief.”

Get Blood Orange Tickets Here

As is usual for Blood Orange, Essex Honey was born out of a highly collaborative process: Hynes recruited a bevy of artists to contribute, including recent collaborators Lorde, Liam Benzvi, and Turnstile’s Brendan Yates, as well as Caroline Polachek, Daniel Caesar,...

Blood Orange Previews First Album in Six Years ‘Essex Honey’ With Two New Singles
Image
Last month, Dev Hynes returned as Blood Orange for the first time in three years with “The Field,” a Caroline Polachek-assisted single about grief and escapism. As it turns out, the musician has been thinking a lot about these themes in the six years since his most recent studio album. The grief that comes with living, but also growing up, leaving home, and turning to music to make sense of it all works as the foundation of Essex Honey, the new album from Blood Orange, out August 29.

Hynes leaned...

28 Years Later Worldwide Box Office: Enters Top 75 Highest-Grossing Horror Films Of All Time, Beats Smile 2
Image
28 Years Later Worldwide Box Office (Photo Credit – Instagram)

Danny Boyle finally returned after a long anticipation with 28 Years Later, and it did not take long for the noise to follow. A long time had passed since the first film stormed into the horror genre, and while this latest chapter might not have shaken things up the same way, it did not fall short either.

Alex Garland’s script, paired with Danny Boyle’s vision, once again delivered something worth watching. The film sits strong with an 88% critic score, though viewers have split their thoughts a bit more. However, that could not stop it from drawing crowds.

28 Years Later Worldwide Box Office: Strong Numbers After Four Weekends

The film, led by a cast that includes Ralph Fiennes, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jodie Comer, and Jack O’Connell, has held firm through four weekends at the box office. So far, 28 Years Later has pulled in $139.1 million worldwide,...

‘28 Years Later’ Slashes One of 2024's Surprise Horror Hits as It Becomes One of the Highest-Grossing Scary Movies of All Time
Image
Long had many waited for Danny Boyle and Alex Garland's 28 Years Later, with 23 years having passed since the Cillian Murphy-led first. Perhaps not hitting the heights of the genre-changing original, this 2025 installment still impressed many, earning an 88% Rotten Tomatoes score from critics, albeit with audience reception proving more varied. Starring the likes of Ralph Fiennes, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jodie Comer, Jack O’Connell, and more, the movie has also earned itself fair financial success to date, across four weekends at the box office thus far.

In total, 28 Years Later has accumulated $139.2 million in global revenue as of the time of writing, 2.3 times its reported budget. Split between a $66.6 million domestic haul and a further $72.6 million from overseas markets, this total is enough to help 28 Years Later to impressive box office heights, including teetering on the edge of the 75 highest-grossing horror movies of all time worldwide. This huge feat is likely...

Sydney Sweeney is the frontrunner to play the next Bond girl, now that the helm of the franchise has been handed to Denis Villeneuve (via The Sun). She will likely be cast for the role because not only has the Euphoria breakout star impressed the director, but she also has the backing of Jeff Bezos. Image
The grossest, goriest, and most gratuitous of the year are set to be feted at the 2025 Fangoria Chainsaw Awards.

The horror magazine has unveiled the nominees for its signature awards, which includes the big categories you'd expect — like Best Wide Release and Best Lead Performance — and some you mind not—like Best Video Game and Best Public Domain Resurrection.

The Chainsaw Awards are also among the first opportunities for this year's potential awards frontrunner, Sinners, to flex its muscles. (Metaphorical muscles. Michael B. Jordan's are currently streaming on HBO Max.) Ryan Coogler's period vampire thriller is in contention for Best Wide Release — where it will compete with 28 Years Later — and boasts a total of ten nominations in all.

With an eligibility window that ran from July 2024 to June 2025, the Chainsaw Awards also include some of last year's awards contenders, including The Substance, which tied Sinners for nominations.

“Sinners” and “The Substance” lead the nominations for Fangoria’s 2025 Chainsaw Awards, which recognizes standout achievements in horror across film, television and gaming.

“This year we continue the new tradition of pitting the second half of last year with the first half of this year in a cage match of cinematic carnage,” Phil Nobile Jr., Fangoria Eic, said in a statement. “Like the Grammys, but gorier. It’s made for a rather chaotic list of nominees, and we expect the voting to be vicious and voluminous.”

“Sinners” and “The Substance” each earned 10 nominations, competing in the same categories for best wide release, best cinematography, best score, best director, best screenplay, best costume design, and best lead and supporting performances. Nominations also include “Strange Darling,” Cuckoo,” “The Ugly Stepsister,” 28 Years Later” and “Longlegs.” Other categories include best streaming premiere, best kill and best creature FX.

The Big-Budget Sci-Fi Movie Universal Forgot To Release Is Now Streaming
Image
Remember Universal Pictures’ sci-fi film Distant, starring Anthony Ramos, Naomi Scott, Kristofer Hivju, and Zachary Quinto? Yeah, probably not. The big-budget flick directed by Josh Gordon and Will Speck has been lost in space since it was shot back in 2020. But now, after five years, it has quietly arrived on Hulu on July 3, 2025, without a single promo push, press release, or even a simple social media announcement. Originally filmed during the Covid-19 epidemic, where the filmmakers had to adhere to strict protocols, Distant bounced between release dates over the years: first March 11, 2022, then September 16, then January 27, 2023, before getting completely wiped off the schedule. Even Amblin’s website gave it a brief January 19, 2024 date. But that didn’t happen either. Then, like a shooting star in the middle of the night, it showed up in Vietnam in 2024, quietly, and then disappeared again. Until now. 10 amazing performers who need to be cast in the upcoming Street Fighter project
Image
The only time there’s been a good Street Fighter project has been the animated movies. The cartoon TV series was mediocre at best, and Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li was lacking. The 1994 film is fun, and Raúl Juliá was great. However, no one is watching that project for “absolute cinema.” Thankfully, the trend of unwatchable Street Fighter movies could come to an end.

Halo, Super Mario Bros, and The Last of Us proved that video game movies and shows can be good. All that’s needed is the right creative team and cast. Roman Reigns and Jason Momoa being rumored is a step in the right direction. Now all that’s needed are the characters to be properly cast. Here’s who should be picked to make sure this movie is a success.

The #1 Movie On Prime Video Today is a “Fun, Mean, and Maddeningly Inventive” Horror Sequel
Image
Parker Finn really surprised me with Smile. Though it marks his debut feature, the film is polished, professional, and properly terrifying. Not to mention, there’s a lot of depth to it. I wasn’t expecting a movie about a deadly entity that latches onto unsuspecting victims to pack much of a punch. I was wrong. The flick has a strong emotional core and something to say about mental health. Perhaps the most profound message is that just because someone is smiling doesn’t mean that they are happy. Many people mask deep wounds by putting on a brave face.

Seeing as Smile was a box office success, it’s no surprise that the studio greenlit a second series installment. What surprised me is that the sequel is really well done. It tackles mental health from the perspective of someone in the public eye, living life under a microscope. Writer...

Halle Berry's 2024 57% Rotten Tomatoes Box Office Horror Flop Is Finally a Streaming Success
Image
2024 was a fine year for horror movies, from pulse-racing box office champions like Robert Eggers' remake of Nosferatu and the latest installment in one of the genre's best franchises, Alien: Romulus, to critical hits like Coralie Fargeat’s The Substance and the Naomi Scott-led Smile 2. Hidden among the successes was a horror entry starring Halle Berry that failed to take the spotlight from its contemporaries. Lionsgate's Never Let Go, a post-apocalyptic claustrophobic horror from genre filmmaker Alexandre Aja, received a mixed reception upon release that led to a similar fate at the box office.

On review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, the movie can only boast a mediocre 57% from critics, with audience reception proving worse at 54%. However, less than a year later, Aja and co. can finally add another small win to their movie: Never Let Go officially joins the list of the ten most-streamed movies on Starzas of June...

Deadpool & Wolverine, Thunderbolts*, and The Last of Us lead the nominations at this year’s Critics Choice Super Awards
Wyatt Russell, David Harbour, Olga Kurylenko, Sebastian Stan, Hannah John-Kamen, Lewis Pullman, and Florence Pugh in Thunderbolts* (2025)
High-brow film awards events like The Academy Awards and the Emmys always bring Hollywood’s tastiest milkshakes to the yard. However, while I enjoy a red carpet romp as much as the next cinephile, plenty of movies and television shows I’ve enjoyed throughout the year don’t get so much as a mention when the nominations come from parties that don’t tend to share my cinematic values. That’s why we’ve got JoBlo’s Golden Schmoes and celebrations like the fifth annual Critics Choice Super Awards! Today, the nominations for this year’s ceremony are making the rounds, with titles like Marvel’s Deadpool & Wolverine, Thunderbolts*, and HBO’s The Last of Us leading the pack.

Nominations for this year’s Critics Choice Super Awards cover a spectrum of genres, including superhero cinema, high-octane action, bleak dramas, mind-bending science-fiction, cerebral war drama, comedic action, spine-tingling horror, and more!

Deadpool & Wolverine, Thunderbolts, and The Last of Us are having a super good Wednesday.

The pair of Marvel movies lead the film nominations for the fifth annual Critics Choice Super Awards, with six apiece including Best Superhero Movie. That top category is rounded out by Captain America: Brave New World, The People’s Joker, Robot Dreams, and Venom: The Last Dance.

For television, HBO's zombie apocalypse drama The Last of Us leads the field with six bids, including Best Superhero Series, Limited Series, or Made-for-tv Movie. The other programs competing in that race are Agatha All Along, The Boys, Fallout, The Penguin, and Superman & Lois.

5 Actresses Who Should Play Wonder Woman In James Gunn's DC Universe
Image
Wonder Woman fans can rest easy, because DC Studios' head James Gunn has confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that a new "Wonder Woman" movie is being written right now. But fans shouldn't expect to see Gal Gadot back as Diana, because while this is the third live-action "Wonder Woman" film, it is almost certainly going to be a reboot, not a sequel to "Wonder Woman 1984."

The previous silver screen Wonder Woman movies were part of the now-dead DC Extended Universe. We're about a month out from seeing if Gunn's DC Universe Take Two can soar with "Superman." So far, of the DC Trinity, we only have David Corenswet cast as Superman. But Gunn does have plans for the other two.

Batman is set to star in "The Brave and the Bold." Directed by Andy Muschietti, this film will see Bruce Wayne partnered with his son, Damian Wayne/Robin. How...

15 Movies With Awful Rt Score But Still Crossed $1 Billion at the Box Office
Image
At least some fans would’ve been surprised to see A Minecraft Movie reach a few million short of a billion-dollar box office. The film only has a 48% Rotten Tomatoes score, meaning that critics didn’t have many great things to say about it. However, there have been actual billion-dollar movies with awful Rt scores.

The poor reviews of such movies didn’t stop the viewers from watching them in theaters. Rotten Tomatoes is a pretty standard metric to analyse the critical reception of a movie, and anything below 60 means it isn’t a great film. Here are some blockbuster films that didn’t get any love from the critics.

15. The Lion King (2019)

Box Office Collection: $1,662,020,819

Rt Score: 51% Rotten

Audience Score: 88%

The curiosity to see how your favorite animated film from your childhood fared in live-action brought many viewers to the theater. And to be honest, it was a soulless recreation of the original.

Stephen King Praises This Disturbing Title as One of the Best He’s Ever Seen
Image
I love some feel-bad horror. Movies that relish in the macabre and unpleasant. Parker Finn’s Smile 2 was last year’s most surprising release for how fluidly the film packed on the trauma, rendering Skye Riley’s (Naomi Scott) life worse and worse, and just when it seemed as bad as it could get, just a touch worse. I loved every moment of it, naturally. And I’ve been chasing that high, desperate for a horror movie that didn’t pull its punches.

One of the best horror films in recent years had me reeling from just how unforgiving all of it was. Better still, the film was uncommonly interested in a population rarely depicted on-screen, especially in horror movies. In a lot of ways, I was reminded of Natalie Erika James’ masterpiece Relic.

With a glowing Stephen King endorsement, follow the rules and check out The Rule of Jenny Pen now streaming on Shudder.

From The Little Mermaid To Snow White—Every Live-Action Disney Princess Movie Ranked By IMDb

Every Live-Action Disney Princess Movie Ranked As Per IMDb Score(Photo Credit –Facebook)

Let’s face it, nobody does fairy tales like Disney. For decades, we grew up with animated princesses singing through magical forests, falling in love, and battling villains with a little help from animal sidekicks. Whether you’re a die-hard Disney fan or just curious about which remake is worth a watch, here’s a breakdown of how the live-action princess movies have fared according to IMDb ratings.

1. The Little Mermaid (2023) – IMDb: 7.2

There was a lot of buzz around this one long before it even dropped. And you know what? It delivered more than people expected. Halle Bailey stepped into Ariel’s fins with grace and power—her performance was heartfelt and nuanced,...

Smaller Movies, Big Profit: Horror Is All The Roi Rage In 2024’s Most Valuable Blockbuster Tournament
Image
Deadline’s Most Valuable Blockbuster tournament has returned, and as you’ll see from the most profitable films of 2024 that we’re about to disclose, a movie’s game doesn’t end at the box office. Rather, its downstream revenues and subsequent home windows must be taken into account. Streaming continues to be a wildcard: While traditional motion picture studios such as Disney, Warner Bros, Sony, Paramount and Universal rely on lucrative pay two and pay three streamer deals to catapult their slates into the black, those streamers who’ve embraced theatrical (specifically Amazon MGM Studios and Apple Original Films) have a clandestine metric as to how they evaluate a movie’s post-cinema success. By traditional studio P&l standards, some of those releases would be considered flops. Given that, Apple and Amazon are excluded from this year’s survey. The Most Valuable Blockbuster series runs later rather than sooner as...

Henry Cavill’s Serial Killer Thriller Returns to Streaming Charts Despite 14% Rotten Tomatoes Score
Image
Henry Cavill’s last major appearance as Superman came in 2021’s Zack Snyder’s Justice League, but three years before that, he starred in a critically panned action thriller that’s climbing streaming charts. Cavill stars alongside Ben Kinsley and Alexandra Daddario in Night Hunter, previously titled Nomis, the 2019 film following a police lieutenant and his force who find themselves hunting for a serial killer along with a vigilante. According to FlixPatrol, Night Hunter is one of the most popular movies on Paramount+’s global charts, sitting at #8 at the time of writing. Night Hunter is available to stream for free with ads via the Roku Channel in the U.S. The film earned a “rotten” score of 14% from critics and a 50% rating from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes.

Night Hunter came one year after Henry Cavill made his debut in the Mission: Impossible franchise, starring opposite Tom Cruise in Fallout.

Why Fox Canceled Steven Spielberg's Sci-Fi Series Terra Nova
Image
The early 2010s were filled with high-concept genre shows made in the wake of the monumental medium-changing success of "Lost." Shows like "FlashForward," "Revolution," or "The Event" had ambitious concepts and big mysteries but failed to capture the essence of what made "Lost" successful — hint, it wasn't just the mysteries.

One show from that wave was "Terra Nova." There were many reasons to believe this show would be a big hit. The cast included Stephen Lang, hot off the astonishing success of James Cameron's first "Avatar" movie. It boasted having none other than Steven Spielberg as an executive producer. Oh, and it was a TV show about people going back in time and battling dinosaurs.

That's right. Steven "I directed 'Jurassic Park' and changed blockbuster cinema forever" Spielberg executive produced a TV show about dinosaurs. Sure-fire hit, right? The CGI was pretty good, it had Carnotaurus eating people alive,...

One Of 2024's Best Horror Movies Is Taking Over Prime Video's Top Charts
Image
The demon from Parker Finn's "Smile" movies has a very peculiar mode of operations. It's largely invisible, and it can induce hallucinations in its chosen hosts. It typically appears to its victims as someone they know, or perhaps a stranger, but always wearing a very creepy smile. For a few weeks, the demon tortures its host with hallucinations, eventually taking over their bodies. Once possessed, the victim themselves would smile horrifyingly, while taking their own life. The self-slaughter is, as the demon dictates, performed in front of a witness. The witness, in seeing a smiling person kill themselves, gives them trauma that allows the demon to pass onto them. The cycle then repeats.

The "Smile" movies are very clearly about the way trauma can be passed from generation to generation, and how violence and self-harm can create a never-ending cycle. Despite the strangeness of the premise, the "Smile" movies are surprisingly scary,...

6 political thrillers like Zero Day to binge-watch next
Image
Zero Day is one of Netflix's most popular and talked about shows at the moment, which doesn't come as a surprise given its compelling storyline and amazingly talented cast. I mean, who wouldn't want to watch a show starring big names such as Robert De Niro, Angela Bassett, Jesse Plemons, Lizzy Caplan, Connie Britton, etc.?

The entire first season of the new political thriller dropped on Netflix on Feb. 20, and with just six episodes, it didn't take long for viewers to binge-watch the whole installment. As expected, many rushed to search for details about a potential second season. However, they may not find the news they were hoping for. With Zero Day being billed as a limited series, the chances of it returning with a new season are slim, as its storyline is intended to be a self-contained narrative.

While this is disappointing news, there's no need to fret...

Smile 2 director Parker Finn eyes ‘thoughtful’ and ‘emotionally grounded’ sequel
‘Smile 2’ director Parker Finn is open to making a sequel. The 37-year-old filmmaker - who helmed the 2024 horror movie and its 2022 predecessor - has revealed he hasn’t closed the door on the series yet, but has stressed any new flicks set in the franchise would remain “thoughtful” and “emotionally grounded”. Speaking with Collider, Finn said: “I think that if there were more directions for ‘Smile’ to go in I'd want to make sure that it stays very thoughtful and sort of thematic and emotionally grounded with characters because I think that's what makes the ‘Smile’ movies work and I want to make sure that it continues to be fresh and unexpected, so we'll have to see.”‘Smile 2’ follows pop mega-star Skye Riley (Naomi Scott) as her life begins to unravel after a haunting smile figure takes the form of her former partner Paul (Ray Nicholson) and mercilessly torments her.

"Fresh and Unexpected": Parker Finn Says He'd Be Down To Pursue 'Smile 3' — Under His Terms
Image
In 2022, Parker Finn made an everyday facial movement absolutely terrifying when he unleashed Smile upon the world. Unique, grotesque, and downright chilling, the Sosie Bacon and Kyle Gallner-led film was a hit with critics and audiences alike, earning a Certified Fresh approval rating of 79% on Rotten Tomatoes. Two years after the smile curse was unveiled to theater-goers around the world, Finn came back with a vengeance through his 2024 film, Smile 2. There’s no arguing that last year was incredibly wonderful for genre fans, and, at the top of that entertainment list, you’d find Finn’s follow-up feature. Starring Naomi Scott as Skye Riley, a pop superstar who’s been infected by the grinning curse, the movie became one of the genre’s top-grossers of the year and was a favorite among audiences. But, what’s next for the blossoming franchise?...

‘Smile 2’ Blu-ray Review
Image
Stars: Naomi Scott, Rosemarie DeWitt, Ray Nicholson, Dylan Gelula, Lukas Gage, Raúl Castillo | Written and Directed by Parker Finn

The original Smile became a sleeper hit for writer/director Parker Finn in 2022, so it’s no surprise that the film has generated a sequel just two years later, especially given its obvious franchise potential. It’s particularly gratifying to find Finn back in both the writer’s and the director’s chairs, because he’s surely one of the finest jump scare orchestrators in the business.

Smile 2 picks up six days after the events of the first movie, as desperate cop Joel (a briefly returning Kyle Gallner) tries and fails to get rid of the cursed entity that infects each host and makes them see grotesquely grinning figures, before eventually killing themselves, while also wearing a monstrous smile.

We then meet the entity’s latest potential victim, pop star...

Here's What the Allegedly Abandoned 'Aladdin' Sequel Would Have Been About
Image
Disney has seen a lot of success from its live-action remakes, with Mufasa: The Lion King currently dominating the global box office as proof of that fact. That movie is a prequel to The Lion King, which grossed over a billion dollars globally. So that begs the question. If a movie grosses that amount, why no sequel? Well, back in 2019, Aladdin brought the cherished 1992 film to life with a colorful live-action rendition directed by Guy Ritchie and starring Will Smith as a not-as-blue Genie alongside Mena Massoud as the titular street rat. But six years later, there has been very little movement on another outing for Aladdin, Jasmine (Naomi Scott), Genie and, of course, Carpet. Why that is can't be answered, but it has been discussed.

Smile 2’s Ending Made The Most Obvious Twist Work Perfectly
Image
Although Smile 2’s ending should have been exceptionally obvious, the horror sequel managed to make the twist feel like a genuine surprise thanks to some incredibly clever misdirections. Director Parker Finn’s sequel Smile 2 builds on the world established by 2022’s sleeper hit Smile from its opening scene onward. The bravura opening sequence sees Smile’s doomed antihero Joel venture into the trap house of some drug dealers so he can pass the curse onto them, only for him to accidentally also implicate Lukas Gage’s luckless small-time drug dealer Lewis. This bodes badly for Naomi Scott’s Skye.

A traumatized pop star, Skye Riley suffers from chronic pain and Ptsd after a car crash that killed her boyfriend, Paul Hudson. Skye relies on Lewis to provide her with Vicodin, but gets much more than she bargained for when he takes his own life in front of her...

Cameron Diaz Reveals If She Would Be Open to Returning for a ‘Mask’ Sequel
Image
Cameron Diaz is possibly looking for another good time with The Mask.

The actress, who just made her onscreen return in Netflix’s Back in Action following a 10-year hiatus, recently told Access Hollywood that she would be open to reprising her role in a sequel to 1994’s The Mask, starring Jim Carrey.

“If Jim’s on board, I mean, I’ve been riding those coattails from day one,” she said of a potential sequel.

Diaz played Tina Carlyle in The Mask, which followed bank clerk Stanley Ipkiss (Carrey), who transforms into a manic superhero, called The Mask, when he wears a mysterious green mask. The film was directed by Chuck Russell.

Last month, Carrey also shared that he would be down to put on the iconic green mask once again for a sequel.

“Oh gosh, you know, it has to be the right idea,” he told Comicbook.com at the time.

Smile 2 Finally Gives Naomi Scott The Role She Deserved 5 Years After $1 Billion Breakout
Image
Naomi Scott recently starred in the horror sequel, Smile 2, and this successful outing has been a long time coming for the actress, who made her breakout five whole years ago. Smile 2 is the sequel to the 2022 horror hit, Smile. The franchise centers on a demonic force called The Entity, which plagues its victims with horrifying hallucinations of people smiling creepily. After witnessing the tragic demise of Rose at the end of Smile, Smile 2 focuses on a new protagonist, pop star, Skye Riley. Skye is played by English actress, Scott.

Scott may be somewhat unfamiliar to audiences, but she has actually been in the acting business for quite a while. Caleb Hammond’s Top 10 Films of 2024
Image
Following The Film Stage’s collective top 50 films of 2024, as part of our year-end coverage, our contributors are sharing their personal top 10 lists.

When reflecting on any year in movies, the theatrical experience rings most memorable. From driving across the border to Ohio with friends to watch No Country for Old Men in 2007, to a 35mm screening of Stalker at the Wexner Center for the Arts in 2011, with so rapt an audience I was terrified to swallow for fear it would disrupt their experience—each year holds it own special memories and 2024 was no different. There was a lively afternoon matinee of Between the Temples in which I was the youngest present by about 25 years, and a sold-out Wednesday screening of Showgirls at the Academy Museum with Elizabeth Berkley in person. But judging from reactions on X.com, I’m not alone in my favorite 2024 theatrical screening being witnessing Interstellar in 70mm IMAX.

Did You Know Tara Sutaria Nearly Bagged A Key Role In Disney’s Will Smith-Starrer Aladdin? (Photo Credit – Instagram/Facebook)

Actress Tara Sutaria has been a prominent name in Bollywood for over half a decade. She has won hearts with her talent and versatility and carved her own unique path. However, unlike many of her contemporaries, Sutaria’s career began not with modeling or commercials but with a strong foundation in singing and theater, setting her quite apart from her peers and giving her a solid background before her meteoric rise in the film industry.

Sutaria made her silver screen debut in 2019 with Student of the Year 2, starring alongside Tiger Shroff and fellow debutant Ananya Panday. While she gained fame for her beauty and talent, many fans are unaware she nearly bypassed Bollywood to debut directly in Hollywood — as a leading lady. The Marjaavaan actress came closer to...
