The next installment in Netflix's Extraction franchise just received a major update from Joe Russo. The fan-favorite filmmaker, one half of the Russo Brothers, revealed at New York Comic Con 2024 when Extraction 3 will begin shooting.

Speaking with Collider at Nycc to promote his upcoming Netflix sci-fi adventure movie, The Electric State, Russo shared that cameras would finally begin rolling on Extraction 3 next year. "We're in the middle of working on that story right now. Hard at work. We're hoping to go into production on it next year," Russo initially stated before giving a more concrete, "It's definitely filming next year. I'm just being cagey because it's more fun."

Extraction 3 is on the way, it's just taking a little longer than expected. Chris Hemsworth, who stars in the Netflix action franchise as Australian mercenary Tyler Rake, recently offered an update on the hotly-anticipated threequel at San Diego Comic-Con 2024.

Speaking with Collider at Sdcc, Hemsworth explained that screenwriter Joe Russo, who is also a producer on the films alongside his brother Anthony Russo, is still trying to find the right story for Extraction 3. "We're in the middle of putting it together now, and writing it, and just trying to crack the story," the actor shared. Extraction 3 was confirmed by Netflix in June 2023 following the massive viewership successes of Extraction 1 and 2 in 2020 and 2023, respectively.

2023 has certainly been a year that's delivered when it comes to spectacular action sequences in movies. From films that deliver a full feature romp of balletic violence to those with surprising or shocking short bursts of action, there have been plenty of scenes from this year that fans will be watching over and over again.

Great action scenes are not limited to great action movies, nor are they necessarily filled with gruesome violence or even any violence at all. Great action scenes are those that present a problem for the heroes that need to be solved through their physicality. They're truly mailable set pieces that can show off some filmmaking talent and offer an enjoyable experience for all audiences.

Prime Video unveiled the official trailer for the second and final season of “Carnival Row” today, foreshadowing the bloodshed to come as a result of a continuous power struggle between humans and mythical creatures.

The 10-episode season sees ex-inspector Rycroft Philostrate (Orlando Bloom) continue to make headway in a serial murder investigation as his former lover Vignette Stonemoss (Cara Delevingne) plots revenge against humanity with a group of faes called the Black Raven.

“If they shoot at us, nail our heads against the wall, they will pay for it in their own blood,” Delevingne says threateningly in the trailer.

The three-time Emmy-nominated series also features Jamie Harris, Simon McBurney, Tamzin Merchant, David Gyasi, Andrew Gower, Karla Crome, Arty Froushan, Sinead Phelps and more. “Carnival Row” is produced through Amazon Studios and Legendary Television, with showrunner Erik Oleson at the helm.
