Fuerza Regida Want to Become the Beatles of Corridos. They Might Already Be
Image
The cameras, iPhones, assistants, and Mountain Valley Spring Water glass bottles orbit him like he’s Neptune with its 16 moons. It feels like a red carpet gala arrival — but Fuerza Regida frontman Jesús Ortiz Paz is just getting to his newly built Street Mob Records offices near San Bernardino.

“What’s up, brother?” Jop says, dressed in an Oakley sweatsuit and Chanel beanie — the same look he’ll sport later while snapping sideline pics with Kendall Jenner at a soccer game. “They said you had a question for me, no?...

Robbie Williams Impassioned Plea Over Fans Seeking Photos From Celebrities Strikes a Chord: “Allow People the Dignity of Their Privacy”
Image
In an impassioned plea on social media, Robbie Williams has called on fans to be more respectful of artists when they are approaching them for photos, suggesting that people consider that celebrities also deserve privacy.

In a lengthy post on Instagram, the singer drew upon his own personal experience to make a larger point about the way people interact with celebrities, in the hopes that people will be more understanding in either respecting boundaries or not feeling deflated if their heroes don’t agree to a photo opportunity.

Williams, the subject of the recent, critically acclaimed biopic Better Man, wrote that he was writing the post whilst on a “domestic flight, going across America,” where he had “three interactions with fellow passengers” in which they asked for a photo with him. He explained how each interaction went down, offering an insight into the crippling anxiety he feels at the best of times,...

Miami’s Ultra Music Festival witnessed pop music history Friday night as David Guetta, Afrojack, and Sia appeared onstage to perform their 2011 hit “Titanium” live together for the first time.

Toward the end Afrojack’s headlining set Friday at the Edm fest — which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year — the artist played a portion of Guetta’s “Sexy Bitch,” hinting at the impending guest appearance. Guetta himself then emerged onstage and, moments later, the pair were joined Sia, wearing one of her trademark wigs and giant bow that obscured her face.

Techno Legend Carl Cox on Ultra Music Festival’s 25th Anniversary and His Own Evolution
Image
For four decades and counting, Carl Cox has commanded the decks at Ibiza residencies, headlined music festivals, and curated classics at underground raves. The veteran British DJ has developed a pre-show regime over the years: He eats nutrient-rich salads or fish-based dishes, drinks more water than alcohol, and occasionally clears the room for a moment of stillness. As he steps out of his air-conditioned trailer and into the broiling warehouse, teeming with sardined fans, he’s reminded why he keeps coming back. He cues up his first record, and his nerves wash away.

How a Tax ‘Fraudster’ Tricked Tiësto, Afrojack Out of Millions
Image
One day after the 2024 presidential election last November, Grammy-winning Edm DJ-producer Tiësto — more used to pulsating lights and throbbing music than the drab, featureless walls of a courtroom — unassumingly took the stand at a federal courthouse in White Plains, New York.

“My stage name is Tiësto,” he said after spelling out his legal name, T-i-j-s V-e-r-w-e-s-t. “I picked [it] because I want to sound Italian [and] that sounds cooler as a DJ.”

He was there to testify against Frank Butselaar, his former tax adviser who prosecutors claim helped conceal tens of millions...

Theresa Rex Releases New Single ‘Ugly Cry’: A Messy-Girl Anthem That’s Utterly Irresistible
Jennie Garth, Amanda Bynes, Leslie Grossman, Wesley Jonathan, Allison Munn, and Nick Zano in What I Like About You (2002)
Known for her quirky yet genuine songwriting, Theresa Rex consistently resonates with her audience through her unique blend of playful and sincere lyrics. ‘Ugly Cry’ continues this trend, delivering her messages with infectious scandipop beats that fans have come to adore.

“I think most of us know that feeling of getting drunk and reaching that point of no return, where the lid just flips and the valves open, and you become an over-sharing, over-emotional, ugly-crying fool, sitting there on the bar bathroom floor asking your friends to hold your hair, do we not? Well, if you do, this might be the messy-girl anthem for you. Sometimes all you need to do is cry until the whole damn place is stuck under water,” Theresa Rex tells.

The track is driven by a simple yet engaging acoustic guitar arrangement, combined with a clever chord progression that makes ‘Ugly Cry’ both impactful and irresistibly catchy.

‘Bridgerton’ Showrunner Admits She Was ‘Nervous’ to Put Pitbull Cover in Carriage Scene: ‘It’s an Unusual Choice’
Pitbull
While fans have gone wild over the Pitbull cover in “Bridgerton” Season 3’s climactic carriage scene, showrunner Jess Brownell admitted she was “nervous” to see the audience response.

“I picked the Pitbull song and I was a little nervous, because it’s an unusual choice that it might take people out of the scene,” Brownell told TheWrap. “But it’s been so wonderful to see that people have taken to it, that actually it’s given that scene even more depth.”

Brownell added that she knew the carriage scene — which features a steamy, intimate moment between Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) and Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) after Colin confesses his romantic feelings for his longtime friend — was strong, admitting she “had a good feeling that people were going to respond to it.”

That’s when she decided to layer Pitbull’s 2011 hit “Give Me Everything” over the scene, sending “Bridgerton” fans...

Netflix’s Bridgerton has featured instrumental covers of hit pop songs since season one. Part 1 of season three included titles from BTS, Nick Jonas, Sia, Billie Eilish, Taylor Swift and more. In episode four, a cover of Pitbull’s “Give Me Everything” featuring Ne-Yo and Afrojack played during a carriage sex scene with stars Colin (Luke Newton) and Penelope (Nicola Coughlan).

Afrojack: My hidden talent is drawing
Image
DJ Afrojack, whose real name is Nick van de Wall, has enjoyed huge success in the music business in recent years but he’s now described drawing as his “cool party trick.” He told Us Weekly: “My hidden talent is drawing. I can draw anything like a photocopy – it’s a very useless but cool party trick.”

Afrojack has worked with many big-name music artists over recent years, including the likes of David Guetta, Nicki Minaj and Bebe Rexha, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

The ‘Another Life’ hitmaker has recalled being particularly starstruck when he came face-to-face with another Dutch DJ.

He shared: “I was starstruck meeting Martin Garrix at Clive Davis’ Grammy party.”

Meanwhile, Afrojack previously described himself and David Guetta as being “opposites”.

Despite this, the DJ believes that they work really well together.

Speaking to Billboard, he explained: “We have this a lot, because he has a certain vision,...

Sunburn 2022: Afrojack delayed by 15 mins, Nicky Romero makes up for it
Image
The 16th edition of the Edm fest Sunburn kicked off in Vagator, Goa, on Wednesday with a promising line-up of artistes. The festival swung into action as the sun went down, but the first day was marked by a delay from the headliner, Afrojack. The Dutch DJ, whose official name is Nick Leonardus van de Wall, was late by 15 minutes to take to the mainstage.

His compatriot, Nicky Romero aka Monocule, who was performing ahead of Afrojack, acted as his wingman and held the fort by extending his set by 15 minutes to a packed audience, which was already in a state of euphoria because of the thumping beats.

The extended set saw some pyrotechnic works, enthralling lights and high-energy beats.

TheWrap Party Report: Could The Chainsmokers Be Headed for Super Bowl Halftime Show?
The Chainsmokers played a rare, semi-private, hometown L.A. show this week as a partnership with Pepsi, celebrating the brand’s history with pop music. The set nodded at Michael Jackson and Britney Spears, but it got the Party Report thinking bigger…

This was the marquee at the Palladium in Hollywood. Where else do we see this kind of billing?

…At the Super Bowl Halftime show, sponsored for the last several years by Pepsi. Could the guys behind “Closer,” “Paris,” “Somthing Just Like This,” and “Roses” be headed that way?

Before you say “no way, not big enough,” this prominent show (with a Sunset Blvd. mural) was billed as a concert with “Special Guests”. The surprises turned out to be Kehlani and up-and-comer Max. The NFL has done a halftime-by-committee a few times in recent years. If they do it again, these could be the guys to anchor it from the DJ booth.

Official Trailer for 'What We Started' Music Doc Featuring DJ Carl Cox
"You want to share it with as many people as possible." Abramorama has debuted the trailer for a music documentary titled What We Started, focusing on the Edm (or Electronic Dance Music) scene. I confess I am a huge Edm fan and have been listening for many years. This doc attempts to be a definitive look at the scene and the music and the people behind it all. The documentary features heavy-weight electronic dance music artists, including the infamous young new DJ, Martin Garrix, the legendary Carl Cox, as well as appearances by Erick Morillo, Moby, David Guetta, Afrojack, Paul Oakenfold, Seth Troxler, and DJ Tiesto. There are multiple cameos from musical superstars, including Usher and Ed Sheeran, who help exemplify the power and reach that electronic dance music has over mainstream music genres. This really looks damn good, seems to be a comprehensive examination of the entire culture. I'm...

Luis Fonsi On 'Despacito' Being Recognized by Both the Latin and American GRAMMYs (Exclusive)
Luis Fonsi
The world is taking notice of Luis Fonsi.

Twenty years into his career, "Despacito," the Puerto Rican singer's crossover remix hit with Daddy Yankee and Canadian pop star Justin Bieber, is a bonafide phenomenon, topping charts across the world, including 16 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 -- tying the all-time record for consecutive weeks on top.

With all that, it's no surprise that Fonsi has earned recognition at both the Latin GRAMMYs -- where "Despacito" took home Song of the Year, Record of the Year, Best Urban Fusion/Performance and Best Short Form Music Video -- and the American GRAMMYs, where the remix has three nominations. Accomplishing the feat has long been a goal of first-time nominee.

"It means so much to me," the 39-year-old singer-songwriter recently told Et. "I think all artists dream about achieving this at some point."

"It just makes me feel like everything I’ve been working so hard for the last two...

Death Stranding Will Not Be at E3 2017 Says Kojima; E3 Coliseum Revealed
One of the most surprising games of E3 2016, Hideo Kojima's Death Stranding, will not be on stage this year when Sony presents their wares. Read Kojima's tweet below and see if you can decipher it. Plus, find out when you can see the man, himself, live and in person at E3!

When we began on the long, winding road to E3 2017, one of the games we were most excited to get an update on was Hideo Kojima's first game since Konami, Death Stranding. Alas, we aren't so lucky this year as Kojima has tweeted out that his team has decided to forego E3 2017 in favor of spending that time developing. That didn't mean Kojima, himself, wouldn't still be in attendance, though.

Apologies to our fans, Death Stranding will not be @ E3 as we are fully focused on development. Pls see me with @geoffkeighley on 6/14! pic.twitter.com/w...
