The trailer for Power Book IV: Force season 3 reveals the release window for the show's final season. Focusing on the character of Tommy Egan (Joseph Sikora), it was announced last June that Power Book IV: Force season 3 was coming back for one final outing. But even though the hit Power spinoff is coming to a close, Tommy may not be gone for too long.
Starz has released a new teaser for Power Book IV: Force season 3, confirming that the final installment will be released in Fall 2025. A more specific release plan has not been confirmed, though the teaser shows Tommy smiling and maintaining a cool exterior even in the face of mounting pressures and escalating dangers. Exclusive: Filmmaker Joshua Coates has secured rights to the life story of Abraham Bolden, the subject of the 2008 autobiography The Echo of Dealey Plaza. Bolden made history as the first Black U.S. Secret Service agent assigned to the White House detail, where he guarded President John F. Kennedy who had personally appointed him in 1961.
Coates has written the screenplay for the movie The Unseen Shield and will also direct the film, which is currently in pre-production with his producing partner Fetteroff Colen.
Bolden, a U.S. Secret Service agent stationed in the Chicago office, first met Kennedy while on assignment in that city. Bolden had played a key role in thwarting an assassination plot in Chicago months before JFK was tragically assassinated in Dallas. Thanks to Bolden’s investigation, Kennedy canceled a planned trip to Chicago, where he was set to address supporters of his 1960 election campaign.

Spoiler Alert: The following reveals major plot points from the series finale of Starz’s Power Book II: Ghost.
After four short seasons, Starz’s Power Book II: Ghost is officially over following tonight’s series finale titled “Ghost in the Machine.” This won’t be a recap of the episode as we will be breaking all that down tomorrow with two of the show’s biggest stars, but rather it’s to discuss Tariq St. Patrick’s (Michael Rainey Jr.) Marvel moment, if you will, at the end of the episode following the credits.
Baby Ghost, as Tariq is often referred to, lives to see another day and with that, there was a tease that more Power is ahead. That says to me they can continue telling stories through Tariq in a new show set in present day. Add to that the upcoming series finale of Power Book IV: Force,...

On Saturday, August 24, the African American Film Critics Association honored the winners for its sixth annual television awards. Among the list of champions were Emmy nominees “Masters of the Air,” Apple TV+’s limited series about a bomber group during World War II, and Ayo Edebiri, the female star of FX’s cooking dramedy “The Bear.” Wendell Pierce (“Elsbeth”) and Josiah Cross (“Masters of the Air”) were also recognized with trophies. Power Book V: Origins may lead to Tommy's death in Force's final season, causing worry and concern. Tommy's potential death would ruin his perfect Power ending and leave a massive hole in the franchise. Keeping Tommy alive for Origins could be more interesting and leave the door open for a future return.
After the announcement of a new Power spinoff, Power Book IV: Force is officially coming to an end, and I'm worried about its conclusion. Starz revealed a new spinoff titled Power Book V: Origins is in the works which will focus on Ghost and Tommy's backstory before the main series. Although some of their history was touched on in the main series and the prequel show, Raising Kanan, the franchise clearly feels there is more to tell with this story, and while I am excited about this new spinoff, Power Book IV: Force's cancelation has me worried about its ending.

Power Book IV: Force's cancellation is part of the Starz cost-cutting effort, hinting at concerns about the franchise's future. Power Book IV: Force's cancellation is reminiscent of Starz ending Hightown after season 3. Despite the cancellation, there's still hope for closure with Power Book IV: Force season 3.
The untimely cancellation of Power Book IV: Force reminds me of the demise of another underrated Starz drama. Given the success of the Power franchise overall, I'm shocked such a well-watched show is ending. However, the decision to end Power Book IV: Force is part of a cost-cutting effort across Starz. With fellow spinoff Power Book II: Ghost season 4 also serving as the end of a franchise chapter, I'm concerned about what this means for the Power brand.

Starz’s Power Book IV: Force will conclude following the drama’s third season which is currently in production in Chicago. It’s lights out for Tommy (Joseph Sikora) and the gang but that doesn’t mean their stories are over.
As Deadline reported in March, Starz CEO Jeffrey Hirsch revealed plans to contain content costs by developing more new shows versus sustaining series longer as they become more expensive. The plan was implemented immediately as Starz announced the next day the development of a new prequel series Origin, following the Ghost (Omari Hardwick in the flagship series) and Tommy during their early years. The new show is similar to Power Book III: Raising Kanan, which centers on Power’s favorite foe, Kanan Stark (played by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson) during his younger years.

Created by Robert Munic, Power Book IV: Force is the third TV spin-off in the Power universe. Set after the events depicted in the acclaimed Starz original crime drama, the story concerns Tommy Egan, the best friend and business partner of series one protagonist, James St. Patrick, aka Ghost (Omari Hardwick). As James attempts to overcome his drug conviction and distance himself from his past, he is forced to relocate from New York to Chicago and attempts to establish himself in a new city.
With Power Book IV: Force Season 2 wrapping in November 2023 and Starz recently renewing Season 3 for an anticipated 2025 release, now is an ideal time to get familiar with the cast of characters in the acclaimed crime drama. While some well-known characters from the Power universe crossover in the spin-off, Book IV also boasts a new crop of characters that fans of the series will meet for the first time.

After much anticipation, "Power Book IV: Force" is finally returning for season two this fall, and according to series star Joseph Sikora, it'll be a real treat for "Power" fans who've been following the franchise since the very beginning. "We're going back to the roots of 'Power,'" he reveals to Popsugar. "We're hitting the streets hard, we're figuring out where things exist in Chicago in real time. I think that the audience is going to have a fun time discovering places."
In addition to more explosive action, Sikora teases that season two "feels very organic," crediting showrunner Gary Lennon (who served as an executive producer on "Power") for a "tremendous job of expanding our world and relating how real Chicago, specifically how Latino culture here in Chicago, would be; how it presents it very truthfully and expands our South Side and North Side gangs."

Watching Tommy Egan navigate a brand new world was one of the coolest parts of Power Book IV: Force Season 1.

But to get there, he’s going to have to deal with an extremely uncertain new status quo. Both of the show’s family-run gangs — Cbi and the Flynns — have fractured into opposing factions. Claudia (Lili Simmons) and Victor (Shane Harper) now run their own organization around the designer drug “Dahlia” in defiance of their father Walter (Tommy Flanagan), while Diamond (Isaac Keys) has severed ties with his...
