Season 3 of “Gold Rush: Dave Turin’s Lost Mine” will be a bit heavy — and we’re not talking about good weight on the digital scale. Midway through production on the upcoming season, which TheWrap has learned will air beginning March 19 on Discovery Channel and Discovery+, gold room operator Jesse Goins died.
The trailer for the Box Creek, Colorado-set season, which we can also exclusively debut, does not shy away from the loss — though it also does not mention Goins by name. It opens on a sad Turin, and then we see a fire engine leading an ambulance either away from or to the mining site.
“Oh my God,” Kc Morgan then says.
“Who is it?” Nathan Clark asks.
“It’s hard when you lose a brother,” Jason Sanchez says in the Season 3 sneak peek. “You’ve got to step up.”
Yeah, there’s still (hard) work to be done.

On Friday’s “Gold Rush,” former high-school wrestling coach Fred Lewis finally pins down his first gold nugget — and his elated team’s reaction is rich.
Treasure the achievement via the video above. Hopefully for Fred, it is the first of many such moments.
Lewis, a veteran (he was a medic in the special forces), just began in the gold-mining game after losing his regular job due to the coronavirus pandemic. The same is true about most of his crew members working the Oregon fields, so this successful Col. Nugget clean-up is extra special.
With fellow veteran and experienced miner Kendell Madden by his side, Lewis leased a piece of ground with huge prospects. The down payment came down to Fred’s last $20,000, as the “Gold Rush” narrator states in our preview clip. When the greenhorn’s test run in our first look shows good gold, Lewis and Madden assemble...

Discovery Channel has renewed “Gold Rush: White Water” for a fourth season, TheWrap has learned, and is also bringing back after-show “The Dirt” hosted by Christo Doyle.
Both return on Friday, Nov. 13. Yes, Friday the 13th. Pretty ominous considering the crazy risks these crazy gold miners take.
TheWrap can also first reveal the trailer for “Gold Rush: White Water” Season 4. Get your first look at the insanity via the video above — possibly between your fingers.
Below is the Discovery Channel’s description for Season 4:
Fred Hurt has mined in Alaska for 17 seasons and even worked Porcupine Creek several years before the Hoffman crew and “Gold Rush” cameras ever turned up. He is a straight shooting, self-taught gold miner who has worked and fought with his son,...

Discovery has set a premiere date for “Undercover Billionaire,” a reality show in which real-life billionaire Glenn Stearns adopts an alias and attempts to start a million-dollar company — without using any of his existing wealth or connections.
“With just $100 in his pocket, Glenn will ditch his private jet and yacht and head to Erie, Pennsylvania, where he will assume the alias ‘Glenn Bryant’ — a regular guy who’s spent the last 30 years in corporate America but always dreamed to have a business of his own. To make things fair, he won’t use his real name, contacts or wealth,” Discovery said in a statement. “Along the way, he’ll share practical tips and the knowledge on how to build a fortune from his three decades in business. But in order to succeed, Glenn will need to come up with a million-dollar idea and find a team to help him build it.
