Mastodon continued, “We are still very inspired and excited to show up for fans in this next chapter of Mastodon. As we move forward, all 2025 touring plans will remain intact. We look forward to seeing you on the road.”

Underoath have announced a new album titled The Place After This One, set for release on March 28th. The band has also released the new single “All the Love Is Gone.”
The Place After This One is the Florida band’s 10th album overall, and the follow-up to 2022’s Voyeurist. “All the Love Is Gone” follows a string of 2024 singles that will all appear on the LP, which features a guest appearance by Mastodon’s Troy Sanders on the song “Vultures.”

Guitarist Tim McTague stated of the new album, “The Place After This One is a multi-faceted idea. The fact that we grew up so sheltered and spiritual, and are trying to reconcile how we grew up against what we see now in the new age. Underoath, albeit intact and the same, is simultaneously so different.”
He added, “Our band has gone through a lot of chaos.

Lamb of God guitarist Mark Morton has announced a new solo album, Without the Pain, arriving April 11th.
Morton also offered up the new single “Brother,” a collaboration with outlaw country singer Cody Jinks and songwriter/country artist Travis Denning.
The first half of the track is mostly acoustic, Morton’s strums providing a perfect backdrop for Jinks’ distinctive twang. The song eventually goes electric as it builds to a crescendo, Morton picking up his trusty axe to lay down some ripping leads.
“On a long bus ride, somewhere in the middle of a Lamb of God tour, I scribbled some lyrics down in my notebook,” said Morton. “Sometime after, having paired them with a simple chord progression, I presented my idea to Cody Jinks and Travis Denning during a writing session in Nashville. Three hours later, we walked out with ‘Brother.'”
He continued: “‘Brother’ is a deeply personal...

Meanwhile, the remix of “Laid to Rest” re-imagines Lamb of God as an industrial metal band. Health pull off a crafty edit of the original stems, melding the guitars into a punchy techno beat and leaving Randy Blythe’s vocals isolated on top.

As one of the premier metal bands of the 21st century, it only makes sense that Mastodon are diving head first into … the pickle business. That’s right, the Atlanta foursome are selling pickles, with each band member getting his own flavor.
Ahead of their co-headlining summer North American tour with Lamb of God (pick up tickets here), Mastodon have partnered with Atlanta-based Kelly’s Death Pickles for a line of vinegar-soaked cucumbers that reflect each member’s personality.

Singer-bassist Troy Sanders offers a nod to his supergroup Killer Be Killed with Diller Be Dilled, a “traditional sour dill pickle exploding with garlic.”
Guitarist Bill Kelliher, meanwhile, rocks Dead and Butterslax, a “take on traditional, sweet bread and butter pickles with some unique added spices.”
Singer-drummer Brann Dailor gets spicy with his JalaBranño Dill, featuring “Jalapeño peppers infused into our dill pickle brine.”

When Troy Sanders isn’t playing with Mastodon, the singer-bassist helps run his local Florida Little League, acting as league president while also coaching his son’s team and handling other tasks such as umpiring.
For his volunteer efforts, Sanders was named the Positive Coaching Alliance’s 2024 Regional Baseball Coach of the Year. The award announcement was quietly posted in late January, but just picked up by MetalSucks.
Sanders is a Little League alum himself, having played from ages five to 14. He began volunteering after his son signed up for the Indian Rocks Beach (Fla.) Little League at age eight. Sanders cheered his son on from the bleachers for the first two seasons before starting to work in the concession stand, helping as an assistant coach, providing teams snacks, etc.
According to the Little League official website, Troy would then further expand his role to become a coach and team...

Brent Hinds, frontman and lead guitarist for Mastodon, has reached the inevitable point in the evening when his speech starts to slur. A few hours back, during a listening session for his Atlanta metal band’s epic new album, Crack the Skye, he polished off at least six Budweiser tallboys; here at a clubby midtown Manhattan steakhouse, where his tribal forehead tattoo and reddish lumberjack’s beard are comically out of place, he’s deep into a procession of Jack-and-gingers. He’s cracking some increasingly nasty but harmless jokes about...
