James Bond's fashion faux pas have included Roger Moore's clown and gorilla costumes in Octopussy, and Sean Connery's yellow face disguise in Asia. Timothy Dalton's cancelled third James Bond film would have had Bond dressed as a rodeo cowboy, completely changing his serious and no-nonsense character. The cowboy outfit would have led to a standoff scene and a chase by angry cowboys, creating an entirely different portrayal of Bond than Dalton's previous films.
One James Bond movie that was canceled and never went into production had an even worse costume moment than when Roger Moore wore a clown costume. James Bond is famously known for being impeccably dressed, no matter the circumstances, but that doesn't mean that even 007 is immune from the occasional fashion faux pas. One Roger Moore moment is often considered the low point of the James Bond historical wardrobe, but new information from behind-the-scenes...

In the universe of James Bond, there are several tiers of villains. There are the primary villains, of course, the mad geniuses like Ernst Stavro Blofeld, Auric Goldfinger, Karl Stromberg, or Max Zorin, who plot to take down financial institutions, governments, military installations, or even the entire world. Sometimes it’s even all of the above Next, however, are the secondary adversaries who may support the main villain in their plans but are often either in it for their own financial gain (as opposed to world conquest), or because they’re in trouble, and this is their only way out. Think of Pussy Galore from Goldfinger, Milton Krest from Licence to Kill, General Ouromov from GoldenEye, Professor Dent from Dr. No… and the list goes on and on.
And then there are the henchmen who are there for one sole reason: to kill James Bond, or in the words of one famous villain,...

Veteran Bollywood actor Mithun Chakraborty, who will be seen gracing the Celebrating Disco Kings special episode of ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs’ along with Padmini Kolhapure, doesn’t want a biopic on his life. Explaining his reason, the actor said that he has been through a lot in life and doesn’t want anyone else to face the same.
Elaborating on the same, Mithun spoke about how he was disrespected because of his skin colour.
“I never want anybody to go through what I have gone through in life. Everyone has seen struggles and fought through difficult days, but I was always called out for my skin colour. This post contains spoilers for Thor: Love and Thunder
Look how far Thor has come! When the Marvel Cinematic Universe ended its first Phase with 2012’s The Avengers, few could have guessed that he would be the only of the team’s trinity to get four movies, let alone that they would be comedies. But with Thor: Love and Thunder, Chris Hemsworth once again teams with Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi (who co-wrote the movie with Jennifer Kaytin Robinson) for another two hours of cosmic goofiness and enough brightly colored crackling to do Jack Kirby proud.
Set after the events of Avengers: Endgame, Love and Thunder follows Thor as he searches for purpose after the loss of his parents, his brother Loki, and his hammer Mjolnir. Thor’s existential crisis comes just as a deicide-obsessed alien called Gorr the God-Butcher begins slaughtering divine beings, setting the thunder god on...

The name’s Bond, James Bond. It’s one of the most iconic lines in cinema, said canonically by six actors to date. And each 007 performer has surely offered an interesting and distinctive interpretation of the character, helping to build the franchise’s overall allure decade after decade, and generation after generation. Yet almost as important as these movies’ heroes are their villains; the scheming megalomaniacs who transformed the 60-year-old Bond franchise into a cinematic legend.
Right down to the first Bond film released by Eon Productions in 1962, Dr. No, a mission’s target has been as nearly important as the man in the tux. After all, Dr. No isn’t named after James. Twenty-five movies later that feels still vital, with the most popular entry of Daniel Craig’s tenure, 2012’s Skyfall, being remembered as much for Javier Bardem’s demonic...

Among the reasons Pranati Rai Prakash loved shooting for the music video of Kamal Khan's Punjabi track "Gabru" is that it required her to be on a mini road trip.
"I travelled from Gurgaon to Chandigarh for the shoot. It was a road trip. I love road trips. We halted at dhabas for delicious daal makhnis and aloo parathas. Everyone was new to me but felt like friends, so shooting for it was fun," she recalls.
The actress says the video was very different from the work she has done before.
"I think each project I do has a different essence to it. Gabru has a lovely fun vibe to it and I loved the 'salwar kurte mein running in the Punjab ke khet' sequence," says Pranati, who made her debut in the film "Family Of Thakurganj" in 2019 and will be seen in "Penthouse" opposite Arjun Rampal, as well...

Henry James is a popular storyteller to adapt, with numerous versions of his works presented in practically every medium known to man. Much of this is to say: “Do we really need another adaptation of ‘Turn of the Screw’?” The answer is, yes, especially as it’s laid out in Mike Flanagan’s new Netflix series “The Haunting of Bly Manor.”
The Gothic romance doesn’t just discuss the nature of grief, love, and toxic relationships. It’s also a meditation on how the world of adaptation can open opportunities for marginalized communities the original author would have left out.
[Editor’s Note: The following article contains spoilers for “The Haunting of Bly Manor.”]
Actors T’Nia Miller and Kamal Khan were not familiar with James’ work, but they all walked away with different appreciations for the text. When Miller was offered the role of Bly housekeeper Hannah Grose she watched “The Innocents,” the 1961 film adaptation of James’ “The Turn of the Screw.

Now in its 31st edition, the festival this year has 51 of them, from favorite-to-beat “Parasite” from South Korea and Senegal’s “Atlantics,” to other films quietly making strides in the race: Czech Republic’s “The Painted Bird,” Sweden’s “And Then We Danced,” Russia’s “Beanpole,” Romania’s “The Whistlers,” North Macedonia’s documentary contender “Honeyland,” Norway’s “Out Stealing Horses,” and many more.
The festival will screen 188 films from 81 countries, including 51 premieres, from January 2-13, 2020. For most awards observers, the Asian Oscars race narrative in the international feature category begins and ends with Bong Joon Ho’s South Korean contender “Parasite.” That said, there are other notable submissions from around the continent that might spring a surprise or two.
The deliciously surgical dissection of Korean society that is “Parasite” has rightly won acclaim and awards around the planet, beginning with its unanimous Palme d’Or victory at Cannes. Neon is distributing the film in the U.S. and its impressive box office will do the film’s prospects no harm. A nom seems certain.

A record 93 countries submitted entries in the International Feature Film race at the 2020 Oscars. That is up by six from last year, when the category was still called Best Foreign-Language Film, and eclipses the record 92 submissions in 2018. The nations represented ranged from A (Albania) to V (Vietnam). Predicting the eventual five Oscar nominees is made difficult by the two-step process.
First, the several hundred academy members of the Foreign-Language Film screening committee are required to watch a number of the submissions (upwards of a dozen) over a two-month period that ends in mid December. They will rate them from 6 to 10 and their top six vote-getters make it to the next round, as will three films added by the 20 members of the executive committee.

The 2020 foreign-language Oscar nominees will come from submissions from 93 countries, up from last year’s 87, and breaking the record 92 from 2017. A contender for the renamed Best International Feature must be a feature-length motion picture (more than 40 minutes) produced outside the United States with a predominantly non-English dialogue track.
Ghana, Nigeria, and Uzbekistan are first-time entrants, but Uganda did not qualify. China (Yu Yang’s “Ne Zha”) and Senegal (Mati Diop’s “Atlantics”) submitted their films under the wire on the deadline of October 1.

Pakistan’s Academy Selection Committee has chosen “Laal Kabootar” as its candidate for the Oscars’ international feature film category.
Directed by first-time helmer Kamal Khan, the gangland thriller set in Karachi’s underbelly follows the events that transpire when a woman in search of her husband’s killer is thrown together with a cab driver and petty criminal who dreams of escaping to Dubai.
