Principal photography has officially wrapped on Trüebadour, the upcoming sci-fi thriller starring Ryan Bergara, and an official first look at its star has been revealed.

From director Jennifer Zhang, Cbr has obtained an exclusive first look at Ryan Bergara as Mike, the bombastic CEO of the tech start-up at the center of Trüebadour’s premise. The photos showcase the star in a role completely different from what his fans are accustomed to.

Bergara, co-host of Watcher Entertainment’s Ghost Files, took to Instagram to celebrate the completion of filming (which occurred in April), telling his fans, “And just like that @truebadour_film is Wrapped. What an amazing experience with an amazing group of people.” Kevin Kreider, also appearing in Trüebadour, shared a similar sentiment and revealed “The last time I got this same exact butterfly feelings when I wrapped Bling in 2021.”

Shane Madej and Ryan Bergara (hosts of Watcher Entertainment's hit series Ghost Files) will guest star in next week's episode of The Rookie. Will the supernatural come with them?

Madej and Bergara will be bringing their paranormal investigation skills to The Rookie in Season 7, Episode 15, "A Deadly Secret." The episode airs on April 22, and its official synopsis reads: "Documentary filmmakers interview the LAPD on a complicated missing person's case connected to John." Fans were quick to pick up on an Easter egg in Season 7, Episode 13 of The Rookie, where, for a brief moment, two characters could be seen watching the Ghost Files episode ("The Trapped Spirits of a Haunted Escape Room").

It will be the first appearance of the Ghoul Boys themselves on network television, but Bergara and Madej did previously appear in a Season 3 episode of S.W.A.T. as conspiracy theorists Eric and Ira.

In February 2025, it was revealed that Jennifer Zhang's sci-fi thriller, Trüebadour, was expected to begin filming in April. Ryan Bergara, who will star in the upcoming film, took to Instagram to give fans a positive status update.

Bergara confirmed via Instagram that production of the sci-fi thriller has officially begun. Bergara shared several behind-the-scenes photos, telling fans: "First days of Trüebadour in the can! Having a blast working with these folks and trying to take in and celebrate every small step of this journey! So here’s a lil bts while we continue the long road ahead!" Reflecting on his experience so far, he added, "And if I’m being embarrassingly honest… making a movie on the Universal lot, seeing The studio tour trams pass by, the same trams that I’ve sat in literally a hundred times, was surreal and genuinely a childhood dream fulfilled."

Comedies tend to err on the side of cringe, and Jhett Tolentino‘s “Asian Persuasion” is no exception. The “Lingua Franca” (2019) producer tries their hand at humor, with mixed results. The film appeared at a handful of local film festivals two years ago, when it took home the Audience Award at the SoHo International Film Festival. Now, the film is coming to North American theaters this weekend, with limited theatrical release.

The film marks the feature lead acting debut of Ryan Bergara, known for his new media network Watcher Entertainment and series like Buzzfeed Unsolved and Ghost Files.

Kreider will also be joining the cast, which includes Gina Su, Matt Gottlieb and Tom Herrick.

Trüebadour is Zhang’s third feature and the story follows the disturbing implosion of a tech start up after an innovative AI “storytelling” device is introduced into the company.

Zhang’s previous works include Charon, which was shot on an iPhone 8 on a micro budget, and in isolation during the pandemic in 2020, as well as 2022 short film, Fetish.

Scatena & Rosner Films is rolling out Grammy and Tony winner Jhett Tolentino’s film directorial debut “Asian Persuasion” across North American theaters, with a digital/VOD bow to follow. The romantic comedy, penned by Mike Ang, toplines “Hook” alum Dante Basco and Filipino star Kc Concepcion (“Boy Golden: Shoot to Kill”).

The film, which snagged the Audience Award at the 2023 Soho International Film Festival, follows an underachiever who concocts an elaborate scheme to dodge alimony payments to his fashion-exec ex-wife. “Asian Persuasion,” the film directing debut of three-time Tony Award- and Grammy-winning producer Jhett Tolentino, has set North American distribution and will have a sales launch at the imminent American Film Market.

Hawaii-based Scatena & Rosner Films has acquired the worldwide rights to the romantic comedy. The film tells the story of a lovable underachiever who hatches an outrageous scheme to avoid paying alimony to his fashion-executive ex-wife.

Scatena & Rosner Films will release the film itself in the North American or ‘domestic’ market and has earmarked a Spring 2025 date. The company will begin rights licensing in all other territories from next week’s AFM in Las Vegas (Nov. 5-10).

The film was written by Mike Ang. It stars an ensemble cast, including Dante Basco (“Hook”), Kc Concepcion (“Boy Golden: Shoot to Kill”), Kevin Kreider (“Bling Empire”), and Paolo Montalban (“Cinderella”).

Six-time Emmy nominee Alan Cumming was not the biggest fan of reality television prior to being approached to host the U.S. edition of “The Traitors.” Despite eventually taking the job that required keeping a watchful eye over alumni from such shows as “Survivor,” “Big Brother,” “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” and “The Challenge,” and excelling to the point of a current Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality Competition Program nomination for his work on Season 2, the Scottish star jokes, “I’m still not.”

For a competition series like The Traitors, it’s important for cinematographers Siggi Rosen-Rawlings and Matt Wright to keep the players as immersed in the game as possible. While the players compete in a series of challenges and conspire with each other to root out the traitors, the pair is hard at work making sure they remain as out of the way as possible… while also keeping track of where the drama is happening.

This season of The Traitors has some of reality TV’s biggest stars coming together to play the psychological competition game of treachery and deceit, along with host Alan Cumming. The series was nominated for four Emmys, including Outstanding Cinematography for “The Funeral”, which both Wright and Rosen-Rawlings say was one of the most theatrical episodes that showed off the skills of every department.

The Traitors 2 is nearing its end on Peacock this winter.

The reality competition show is turning in impressive streaming numbers, leading to Peacock ordering The Traitors 3 already.

Rumors have already been floating around social media about people who could play the game next, with many possibilities for great casting.

Two Traitors have already been discovered this season. Dan Gheesling from Big Brother got Banished first, followed quickly by Parvati Shallow from Survivor.

Phaedra Parks from The Real Housewives of Atlanta was the final Traitor standing, but she extended an offer to someone new at the end of Episode 7.

Episode 8 begins with Kate Chastain from Below Deck revealing whether she decided to become a Traitor or get Murdered by Phaedra.

When is The Traitors 2 season finale?

The Traitors 2 season finale debuts on Thursday, March 7, at 9/8c on Peacock.

New episodes of The Traitors 2 also debut on February 22 and 29.

Only 10 people remain in the game, which seems high since only two episodes remain.

The ninth episode of The Traitors 2 arrives on February 22, and the season finale debuts on February 29.

Adding Kate Chastain from Below Deck helped increase the level of drama, and Phadea Parks from The Real Housewives of Atlanta/Married to Medicine just asked Kate to become a Traitor.

If Kate turns down the offer, she is eliminated from the game, making her the latest victim to be Murdered by a Traitor.

The Traitors 2 can have more than one winner

As a reminder, The Traitors is a show that can yield multiple winners. If the Faithfuls make it to the end and have eliminated all Traitors, they split the prize money.

Production interference is ruining The Traitors US, as evidenced by scripted moments and contrived conversations among the cast members. Peter's sudden change of heart and his conversation with Parvati seemed scripted, raising suspicions among other players. British politician John's quips have become stale, leading to the belief that his lines may be scripted. Phaedra's invitation to Kate to the dungeon also felt scripted and out of place.

The Traitors US season 2 is nearing the end, and the signs the show may be scripted are mounting. While it's expected for talking heads to include quippy one-liners, the conversations among the cast members and perfectly timed looks around the corner are hard to ignore. While still one of the best reality TV shows, production interference is ruining The Traitors US. After Big Brother's Dan Gheesling's exit, the signs became too difficult to ignore.

Peacock’s Emmy-winning The Traitors has been renewed for season three, with Alan Cumming on board to return as the reality competition series’ incredibly fashionable host. The renewal was a no-brainer as the show, and all its cutthroat backstabbing, tops the list of the streaming service’s most watched unscripted series.

“Squid Game” Updates + More on Netflix’s Upcoming Korean Programming Slate

“Squid Game” Season 2 still hasn’t been given a concrete premiere date other than “sometime in 2024,” but Netflix is still building up excitement for its hit Korean series and all its other upcoming Korean titles.

The streamer has officially confirmed its expanded cast for the highly anticipated second season of the thriller, which centers on 456 individuals with deep debts who risk their lives to play a series of deadly children’s games for the chance to win the ₩45.6 billion prize.

The second season, which will see the return of protagonist and game victor Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae) and antagonists the Front Man (Lee Byung-hun), Hwang Jun-ho (Wi Ha-joon), and the Recruiter (Gong Yoo), will follow Gi-hun “as he abandons his plans to go to the United States and starts a chase with a motive.”

The reality competition series combines “the witty humor of returning host (and producer) Alan Cumming with the deceit and treachery of a celeb-fueled competition set in the Scottish Highlands,” reads its official description. “Contestants work together on a series of exhilarating missions to build a prize fund worth up to $250,000. As the game intensifies, Phaedra's ability to conceal her identity from the Faithfuls may lead her to victory in The Traitors US season 2.

The Traitors US season 2 could've looked very different because The Real Housewives of Atlanta and Married to Medicine star Phaedra Parks almost didn't join the show. On The Traitors US season 2, Phaedra was chosen to be one of the Traitors, along with Dan Gheesling. They then recruited Parvati Shallow. Since then, they've murdered Johnny "Bananas" Devenanzio and Marcus Jordan. However, if not for the encouragement of a very special person, Phaedra might've said no to The Traitors US season 2 and not appeared on it at all.

“Good Omens” Renewed for Third and Final Season

Some good comes with some bad. Prime Video has announced a Season 3 renewal for its fan-favorite series “Good Omens,” starring David Tennant and Michael Sheen. However, the third season will be its last.

While the British comedy series was initially launched as a limited series, its popularity led to it being renewed for a second season, which premiered this past July. The story follows fussy angel and rare book dealer Aziraphale (Sheen) and fast-living demon Crowley (Tennant), who team up to form an unlikely alliance in an attempt to stop the approaching Armageddon.
