She has a couple of projects still left to come out this year, and one upcoming project that has people especially buzzing. That project has just received an exciting update. More actors have joined Palmer in the show's cast!

It's titled The 'Burbs, a mystery comedy series that was announced to be in the works last year. It will stream on Peacock and is described as an upcoming modern TV show adaptation of the 1989 black comedy film of the same name, which starred Tom Hanks in the leading role. When The 'Burbs was first announced late last year, Palmer was the only actor attached. Besides starring in the series, she is also signed on as executive producer.

Jude Law and Andrew Garfield are set to executive produce and play Las Vegas showman-magicians Siegfried and Roy, respectively, in the newly picked up Apple TV+ limited series Wild Things, from writer, showrunner and executive producer John Hoffman.

Based on the Apple original podcast, Wild Things: Siegfried & Roy, the eight-episode, hour-long series “tells the wild ride relationship tale of two of the greatest showman-magicians in history who, along with their white tigers, are tasked with turning Sin City into a family-friendly destination. The duo pushes the concept of illusion versus reality to the extreme, personally and professionally, until tragedy reframes and opens a mystery surrounding their last fateful Las Vegas show,” according to a release from the streamer.

Production will begin this fall with Matt Shakman set to direct the pilot and serve as executive producer alongside Hoffman, who will also direct.

Brian Grazer, Kristen Zolner, and Natalie Berkus will executive produce for Imagine Entertainment, the company producing Wild Things. Kristen Zolner has parted ways with Imagine Entertainment, where she has served as head of television since 2022.

According to an individual with knowledge of the situation, Zolner’s exit came amid broader streamlining measures at Imagine. The parting is said to be amicable, and Zolner’s role will not be filled.

Zolner succeeded Samie Kim Falvey at the helm of Imagine’s television unit, with Falvey having exited the company in late 2021. In her time with Imagine, Zolner oversaw projects including the Peacock series reboots of “The ‘Burbs” starring Keke Palmer and “Friday Night Lights,” a scripted series about magicians Siegfried & Roy at Apple TV+, and the Netflix Mexico series “The Gringo Hunters.”

‘Ms. Pat Show’ Renewed for Season 5 at BET+

“The Ms. Pat Show” has scored a Season 5 renewal from BET+ as co-creator and star Patricia “Ms. Pat” Williams extends her overall deal with BET Media Group to include linear and streaming projects.

The sitcom is based on the life story of Ms. Pat, as told in her memoir “Rabbit: The Autobiography of Ms. Pat,” as she transforms from a convicted felon and drug dealer from Atlanta into a suburban mother. ‘The Burbs’ Series Remake Starring Keke Palmer a Go at Peacock

Peacock is packing up for The Burbs.

The NBCUniversal streamer has given a straight-to-series order for a comedic mystery series based on the 1989 Tom Hanks-Carrie Fisher movie of the same title. Keke Palmer is attached to star in The Burbs, which counts Brian Grazer and Seth MacFarlane among its executive producers. Grazer and Ron Howard’s Imagine Entertainment produced the film.

Palmer will play half of a young married couple who return to the husband’s childhood home. Their world is upended when new neighbors move in next door, bringing old secrets of the cul-de-sac to light, and new deadly threats shatter the illusion of their quiet little neighborhood.

Peacock has given a straight-to-series order to The ‘Burbs, a contemporary series adaptation of the 1989 Universal Pictures horror-comedy film of the same name. Celeste Hughey is writing and executive producing the mystery comedy series which will star Keke Palmer, also an executive producer on the project from UCP, a division of Universal Studio Group.

Seth MacFarlane (Ted), Erica Huggins and Aimee Carlson executive produce for Fuzzy Door under the company’s UCP overall deal alongside Brian Grazer, Kristen Zolner and Natalie Berkus for Imagine Entertainment, which produced the 1989 movie. Dana Olsen, the writer of the film directed by Joe Dante, will serve as co-executive producer on the series.

‘The ‘Burbs’ Series Starring Keke Palmer Set at Peacock, Brian Grazer & Seth MacFarlane to Produce

Keke Palmer is set to star in a TV adaptation of the dark comedy film “The ‘Burbs,” which has been ordered straight-to-series at Peacock.

Celeste Hughey will adapt the film for television. Seth MacFarlane is set to executive produce, as will Brian Grazer of Imagine Entertainment, with Imagine having produced the film. Dana Olsen, who wrote the film, will co-executive produce.

The series will film on the Universal Studios backlot, just like the movie. Released in 1989, “The ‘Burbs” starred Tom Hanks, Carrie Fisher, Bruce Dern, Rick Ducommun, and Corey Feldman. In the film, the residents of a suburban neighborhood suspect their new neighbors are ritualistic murderers. Produced by Universal Pictures, the film grossed just over $49 million against a reported budget of $18 million. It is now considered a cult classic.

Erynn Baldwin Joins Imagine Television As Vice President

Exclusive: Television executive and producer Erynn Baldwin, most recently founder and CEO of the storytelling app Lugu, has joined Brian Grazer and Ron Howard’s Imagine Television as Vice President. In her new role, Baldwin will be responsible for bringing in new projects and developing series across comedy and drama.

Baldwin will be joining the television team which includes SVP James Seidman, VP Natalie Berkus, and Director of Development Nicole Scott, across a strong slate of projects.

“Erynn is going to be an incredible addition to the Imagine team,” said Kristen Zolner, Head of Imagine Television. “She is an excellent executive, who cultivates strong relationships with her creative partners through her curiosity and passion for storytelling.”

Baldwin launched Lugu during the Covid-19 pandemic. She built the app, which helps users create and share their life story, after seeing that there was no simple way for her grandmother to capture her legacy in the digital age.

Joe Exotic Series Starring Nicolas Cage Lands at Amazon for Development

The scripted series about “Tiger King’s” Joe Exotic starring Nicolas Cage has been set up at Amazon for development, Variety has learned.

Variety exclusively reported the project was in the works from CBS Television Studios and Imagine Television in May. Amazon Studios has now boarded the project and will produce along with CBS TV Studios and Imagine TV.

The series is is based on the Texas Monthly article “Joe Exotic: A Dark Journey Into the World of a Man Gone Wild,” by Leif Reigstad. The story centers around Joe Shreibvogel (Cage), a.k.a. Joe Exotic, an eccentric exotic zookeeper in Oklahoma who fights to keep his park — even at the risk of losing his sanity. The series will live in the lion’s den with Joe, explore how he became Joe Exotic, and how he lost himself to a character of his own creation.

According to THR, a scripted series based on the hit Netflix docuseries, Tiger King, is in the works at CBS Television Studios.

We already know who will be suiting up as Joe Exotic.

Nicolas Cage has been tapped to play the man who became an overnight celebrity thanks to the roaring success of the Netflix series.

Cage had been in the running for the role since April, but is thought that negotiations took some time to finalize.

The eight-episode series will be shopped to potential buyers soon, and there's a good chance it will spark a bidding war.

The larger than life personalities at the wheel of the Netflix series found themselves propelled to stardom as people binged the series.
