Quentin Tarantino at an event for The Oscars (2013)
Images show Brad Pitt in character on the set of David Fincher’s Cliff Booth movie
Quentin Tarantino at an event for The Oscars (2013)
Quentin Tarantino has it locked in his mind that he can only direct ten feature films before retiring, so when he wrote a follow-up to his 2019 film Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood and felt that it wasn’t worthy of being his tenth and final movie, he was planning to scrap it. The script centered on Cliff Booth, the stuntman character Brad Pitt won an Oscar for bringing to life, so it’s understandable that Pitt really didn’t want to let go of the project. In a shocking turn of events, he was able to convince Tarantino to let another director bring the story to the screen: David Fincher, who previously directed Pitt in Se7en, Fight Club, and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. The movie, which is believed to be going by the title The Adventures of Cliff Booth, is now in production, and Pitt has been spotted on the set,...

Brad Pitt Featured in First Set Images of Netflix's 'The Continuing Adventures of Cliff Booth'
Image
Fresh off his death-defying role in F1, Brad Pitt is back in action on the set of The Continuing Adventures of Cliff Booth, the highly anticipated follow-up to Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood. Tarantino wrote the new script, but David Fincher is in charge of directing the upcoming movie, which features a star-studded cast in addition to Pitt. The new film follows the adventures of Cliff Booth after the titular stuntman becomes a Hollywood studio fixer.

Netflix's The Continuing Adventures of Cliff Booth is now filming, and fans have spotted a candid first look at Pitt as the titular character. It seems the time since the events of Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood has greatly changed his appearance, as he now sports a mustache and an unruly hairstyle. Interestingly enough, Netflix has yet to announce the production, nor confirm the official title of the film.

The Adventures Of Cliff Booth | David Fincher’s sequel begins filming
Image
David Fincher’s sequel to Once Upon A Time In Hollywood – called The Adventures Of Cliff Booth – has started filming in Los Angeles.

In one of this year’s more surprising filmmaking developments, it was announced in April that David Fincher was about to direct a sequel to Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. Reportedly called The Adventures Of Cliff Booth, it was originally going to be Tarantino’s tenth (and possibly final) movie, before he shoved the script in a drawer and moved on to other things.

Brad Pitt – who played stuntman Cliff Booth in 2019’s Once Upon A Time – managed to rescue the situation, however, and set it up as a project for he and Fincher to make at Netflix. It’s been reported that the streaming company paid $20m for Tarantino’s script.

With Netflix keen to get things going quickly, filming on the...

Blumhouse isn’t letting her drink alone; sequel Ma 2 has enlisted Emmy-winner Ashley Nicole Black to write the screenplay, per Deadline.

Octavia Spencer was recently confirmed to return at Blumhouse’s The Business of Fear event.

“Ma has proven to be a social phenomenon since its release in 2019, with fans eagerly embracing the film and Octavia’s iconic performance as Ma. Ma likes to say ‘Don’t make me drink alone,’ so we’re thrilled Octavia will join us again for a second round,” said Blumhouse Founder/CEO Jason Blum.

Spencer played Sue Ann, a loner who keeps to herself in her quiet Ohio town. One day, she is asked by Maggie, a new teenager in town, to buy some booze for her and her friends, and Sue Ann sees the chance to make some unsuspecting, if younger, friends of her own.

Tom Stockman wrote in his review, “Ma is one of the most fun ‘audience’ movies I’ve seen in some time. It’s scary, but not under-the-skin terrifying and it’s darkly funny, generating nervous laughter as well as a few big gut-busters. I hope Ma finds the cult status it deserves.” And so it has.

As part of its first-ever The Business of Fear event examining the growing power of horror subgenres, Blumhouse has announced that Academy Award-winning actress Octavia Spencer will return as Ma in a sequel to the hit Blumhouse revenge horror film.

The original 2019 film, directed by Tate Taylor, earned more than $60 million in global box office, but also spawned hundreds of memes, with audiences embracing Ma as an iconic horror character for the ages. The...

Image
M3GAN, Annabelle, and Ma will return to theaters nationwide for one night only over three consecutive weeks for Blumhouse‘s second annual Halfway to Halloween Festival.

Gerard Johnstone‘s M3GAN kicks off the event on April 30. This could a good way to revisit the killer doll before M3GAN 2.0 opens on June 27 — if you can stand a theater full of people encouraged to be on their phone during the movie.

You see, M3GAN will be augmented by Meta’s Movie Mate second screen experience. Moviegoers can Dm M3GAN on Instagram to interact with the chat bot and receive never-before-seen content, trivia, and behind the scenes info on the film in real time.

The screenings of John R. Leonetti‘s Annabelle, on May 7, and Tate Taylor‘s Ma, on May 14, will not be impeded by such distractions.

Every R. L. Stine Movie Ranked
Image
Before kids got into Stephen King, Scholastic Book Fairs introduced them to the tween horror maestro: R.L. Stine. The author's best known for his "Goosebumps" books, an anthology series where each book introduced a new horror for some intrepid young protagonist to confront. Werewolves, mud monsters, and Slappy the dummy, the last of whom Stine never understood the fanbase for, all gave us nightmares. But hey, at least we were reading!

"Goosebumps" is far from Stine's only enterprise, as he's also the visionary behind the "Fear Street" and "Mostly Ghostly" books, too. It should come as no surprise that many of his works have been adapted into films and TV shows over the years. Some you've undoubtedly heard of before while others will make you go, "Wait, that's an R.L. Stine project?"

Consider it homework to expand your Stine repertoire, and in case you don't have the time to watch all of them,...

Octavia Spencer's Underrated 6-Year-Old Horror Film Finds New Success on Netflix
Image
Octavia Spencer has starred in many successful movies, three of them leading to Academy Award nominations, with the actress winning the golden statuette for 2011's The Help. With over 100 acting credits in different genres, one of her films has found new success on streaming.

In 2019, Spencer reunited with the director of the project that got her the Oscar for a completely different film — Ma. The psychological thriller was a complete change from their first project, and, although it had a mixed reception, it was a big hit at the box office. Six years later, Ma is a success again on Netflix, reaching the seventh spot with 3.2 million views on the global charts, the equivalent of 5.3 million hours viewed.

Raw, scary, thrilling and suspenseful are some terms that can be coined to define Ma.

The movie stars the all-famous The Help actress Octavia Spencer in the lead role, with Juliette Lewis, Diana Silvers, Corey Fogelmanis, Gianni Paolo, McKaley Miller, and Luke Evans being part of the cast members.

The plot revolves around a middle-aged woman who befriends some teenagers after buying them booze on request. Later she offers them a place to party in after hours in her basement. Warning: spoilers for Hulus Carved.

Hulus dark horror comedy Carved has a one-of-a-kind killer, but despite the silliness of the character and the premise, there are some pretty brutal kills.
