Reel2Reel Films has confirmed the UK digital release of Year 10, Ben Goodger’s dialogue-free post-apocalyptic horror, arriving on 4 August. The announcement follows the film’s well-received debut at FrightFest last summer, where it drew praise for its stark vision of survival in a world overrun by violence and feral predators.
Set a decade after the collapse of civilisation, Year 10 depicts a grim wasteland where silence is vital to survival. Those who remain have formed violent factions, while packs of wild dogs roam the countryside. Against this backdrop, a young man, played by Toby Goodger, witnesses his father’s (Duncan Lacroix) savage murder at the hands of a gang of cannibals. When the killers steal the family’s medical supplies, leaving his gravely ill girlfriend (Hannah Khalique-Brown) at death’s door, he sets out on a relentless mission for revenge and recovery.

Directed by Ben Goodger, Year 10 is a survival horror drama that unfolds sometime in the future when humans run out of resources, giving birth to cannibalistic instincts. The film revolves around a family; a father, a son, and a girl, and the desperate measures they take to survive. While it is not stated clearly in the film, it seems a disease might have been the reason behind the apocalypse. The family lived in a small hidden hut; the father and son, Jake, routinely stepped out to fend for themselves. The girl was wounded, and the infection continued to spread. She took pills; likely the medication was from the pre-apocalypse time. The girl was possibly Jake’s sister or his partner or perhaps a random stranger they decided to help; their relationship was not explained in the film. Things got complicated when a tribe found their hiding spot. They were out to kill,...

Would you survive? Blue Fox Ent. has unveiled an official trailer for an indie survival thriller called Year 10, marking the feature directorial debut of British filmmaker Ben Goodger. It first premiered at FrightFest 2024 but it hasn't show up anywhere else. This will be on VOD in December if anyone thinks it looks good. 10 years after the fall of civilization, the few survivors have been driven to cannibalism. A young man must confront a violent tribe that has murdered his father and stolen the medicine that keeps his girlfriend alive. Taking place in a post-apocalyptic world, the film focuses on a man fighting wild dogs, nature, and other brutal humans in order to save his love. Starring Toby Goodger, Hannah Khalique-Brown, Duncan Lacroix, Alexander Anderson. I'm tired of these bland survival thrillers that are always "people will turn horrible and start eating each other!" Every time they all have the...
