Ben Sledge is a visual effects artist specializing in 3D character work. From 2006 to 2010 he was a student in East Tennessee State University's Digital Media program, where he also minored in computer science.
After graduating from ETSU, Ben enrolled in the Master of Fine Arts in Digital Production Arts at Clemson University, in South Carolina. While at Clemson, he was on the production team for two animated short films. One of which (Robo+Repair) was a part of DreamWorks Animation's Summer Industry Experience program. Robo+Repair was exhibited at an internal screening event at DreamWorks Animation's Glendale offices in 2013. The following year, Robo+Repair was included in the ACM SIGGRAPH Conference Dailies program, in Vancouver, BC.
Ben's thesis work focused on an automated build (or rigging) system for digital characters. His thesis committee was chaired by Dr. Tim Davis, with committee members Dr. Jerry Tessendorf (AMPAS Technical Achievement Award recipient for work on Titanic) and Dr. Sophie Jörg (formerly of Disney Research, Pittsburgh).
In 2014, Ben moved to Vancouver, BC, where he works in the film and animation industry.
