Exclusive: Colin Bates (Queer) and Ella Kennedy Davis (Your Friends and Neighbors) will topline These Little Ones Perish, an indie drama from director Alex Noyer (Sound of Violence), which has wrapped production in New York.
For Noyer, the circumstances surrounding the shoot were extraordinary, as he went to set just one week after losing his home in the devastating Palisades fire that destroyed over 6,000 structures. Hailing from Genco Pictures and You Know Films, the project is an adaptation of the play by Patrick Hamilton, who penned the script.
The story begins after a young altar boy’s tragic death by suicide in a local church. Father Frye (Bates) discovers the body, only to face resistance from the church hierarchy, the local police and the surrounding community. His investigation is driven by the grief and distrust of the boy’s older sister, Siobhan (Davis), as well as the church’s apparent urgency to bury the truth.

After an incredible third installment, the hit sci-fi horror series From was renewed for a 10-episode fourth season in November 2024, and fans have been buzzing with excitement ever since. Everyone wants to know what new horrors await the residents of the nightmarish town, but unfortunately, we won't be seeing this beloved show return to our screens until sometime next year.
From season 4 was confirmed for a 2026 release when the renewal was announced. Production on the fourth season is slated to begin this year in Nova Scotia, where the previous three seasons were shot, but a filming start date has not been revealed. Also, given that this show heavily utilizes special effects, we can likely expect a longer post-production period. This is likely the reason why we won't be seeing From season 4 until next year. Note: This story contains spoilers from “Yellowjackets” Season 3, Episode 2.
In Season 3 Episode 2 of “Yellowjackets,” everyone is understandably afraid of Teen Shauna (Sophie Nélisse), who hasn’t bought into the wilderness mythology preached by Lottie (Courtney Eaton) or the celebratory vibe as the crash survivors finally have enough to eat.
Shauna is quick to draw a knife when she finds someone following her in the woods: Melissa (Jenna Burgess) steps forward to identify herself and promptly gets pinned to a tree with a knife against her throat. So she does something unexpected: She kisses Shauna, who is stunned at first but then kisses back.
It’s the first romantic relationship to develop within the group — Van (Liv Hewson) and Taissa (Jasmin Savoy Brown) were already a couple before the crash — and it helps fuel the looming power shift.
Nélisse talked to TheWrap about how Melissa “embraces Shauna’s darkness” and gives...

Spoilers: This post contains details about the Yellowjackets, Season 3 episode ‘Dislocation’.
Although Sophie Nélisse’s Shauna has experienced insurmountable loss on Yellowjackets, the new season sees her gain an unexpected friend.
At Thursday’s Season 3 premiere of the hit Showtime series, the actress told Deadline about that kiss between Shauna and her teammate Melissa (Jenna Burgess) at the end of episode 2 ‘Dislocation’, now available to stream on Paramount+ with Showtime.
“It’s a very interesting dynamic, which I don’t even think that Shauna truly understands herself,” Nélisse explained. “I don’t think she knows what she wants. I think she’s sort of at a crossroads where what she needs deep down is to feel loved and for someone to just hold her and tell her that it wasn’t her fault, and I think Melissa kind of brings that because she sees her for who she really is...

The past couple of weeks have seen many casting announcements for Scream 7. At first, they seemed fairly normal, with people like Isabel May and McKenna Grace fulfilling the teen roles. Makes sense, as they always need a new cast of young victims, as Neve Campbell’s Sydney Prescott can only do so much. Then part of the Core Four was announced, with Mason Gooding and Jasmin Savoy-Brown returning as the Meeks’. Very cool considering the Barrera/Ortega films appeared to be getting excised. But that’s when things started to get weird. Despite rumors of his involvement for months, Patrick Dempsey was not cast as Sydney’s husband, instead Joel McHale ended up taking the role. Unexpected but scheduling conflicts happen and they clearly have a movie to make. But that’s when we got some true head-scratchers. Scott Foley and Matthew Lillard were both announced as having roles in the film.

Although plenty of emotions abound in Season 3 of Showtime’s hit series Yellowjackets, love was certainly in the air at the Valentine’s Eve premiere in Hollywood.
Ahead of Friday’s Paramount+ with Showtime streaming debut, the cast and creators spoke to Deadline at the Season 3 junket and premiere about missing one fallen teammate, as well as the “very scary and unhinged” third chapter, which ultimately sees the past and present beginning to merge.

After a nearly two-year hiatus from Showtime, Yellowjackets has finally returned for Season 3. Critics are already praising the series, saying it’s off to a “bloody good start” with even more intriguing mysteries to unravel.
As of Friday, the darkly comedic drama series has a generally favorable Metacritic score of 63 based on 14 reviews. Of those, eight are positive, six are mixed, and none are negative. On Rotten Tomatoes, where reviews are classified simply as positive or negative as opposed to Metacritic’s sliding scale from 0 to 100, Season 3 is rated 92 percent fresh based on 12 reviews. That score disparity suggests that most responses are favorable but shy of the second season: 77 on Metacritic and 94 percent fresh on Rotten Tomatoes.
Among those critics who are impressed is Kelly Lawler (USA Today), who says, “The new episodes have happily dispensed with problematic Season 2 storylines and focused on what makes the show work: its cast,...

The "Yellowjackets" pilot has an unforgettable opening sequence. A girl, dressed only in a short trim nightgown, runs barefoot through an icy forest. As she flees, the ground gives way and she falls into a pit, instantly killed by wooden spikes protruding from the ground. Skewers don't set themselves up, though, so the sinister atmosphere ratchets up when a masked figure peers over the pit afterwards.
Showtime
Yes, we've known from the very beginning that the Yellowjackets — stranded in the wilderness for 19 months — will resort not only to cannibalism but also hunting and butchery. "Pit Girl," as fans call her for now, may be the first example of someone (or something) being hunted that we see, yet she's clearly isn't the first prey the other girls have ever gone after.

With the Yellowjackets officially out of the cold, the soccer team’s future looks a little brighter. However, whether Coach Ben started the fire is still very much on the table. Meanwhile, in the present day, Natalie’s funeral provided a moment of solace. However, the murder investigation into Shauna and Jeff is unlikely to go away anytime soon. It does not help that Callie threw guts on the other girls in school either. Let’s see what’s up for the girl’s soccer team in “Dislocation” and what potentially disturbing relations are happening.

‘Yellowjackets’ Review: Showtime Hit Struggles to Find Its Footing in Intriguing but Wobbly Season 3
On Showtime’s Yellowjackets, there are (at least) two versions of every story. We’re reminded of this minutes into the third season premiere. Out among the group, Van (Liv Hewson) cheerfully recounts their journey as a heroic one, filled with sacrifice but also rewards from “the wilderness.”
At the same time, alone with her diary, Shauna (Sophie Nélisse) recaps the same events in much more cynical terms: “A bunch of teenage girls got stranded in the wilderness and then went completely fucking nuts.”
Neither feels totally right and neither feels totally wrong — just as describing this series as simply a mystery-box thriller or a character-driven drama, a tale about girls in the woods or one about women grappling with past trauma, wouldn’t quite fit either.
At its best, as in the show’s propulsive debut season, this duality is what makes Yellowjackets so deliciously rich. When it’s less successful,...

Like Apple TV+’s Severance, the latest season of Paramount+/Showtime’s Yellowjackets was delayed by the WGA/SAG strikes, meaning it is being met with a lot of anticipation from fans and a high bar to live up to. Fans will be delighted to find that this season lives up to and possibly even exceeds the quality of the first two, offering all the darkly compelling drama we have come to love and more.
Yellowjackets Season 3 Review
Season 3 of Yellowjackets continues to follow the survivors and their adult counterparts as they deal with the aftermath of two major events: the burning of the cabin for the teenagers, and the death of Natalie (Juliette Lewis) for the adults. These episodes provide an enormously satisfying payoff to all of the build-up that the last season offered, taking the story in exciting, often unexpected new directions.

Nobody is ever truly safe on "Yellowjackets," the dual-timeline drama series that became a major hit for Showtime when it started airing in 2021. In the present-day timeline, we meet Shauna Sadecki (Melanie Lynskey), Taissa Turner (Tawny Cypress), Misty Quigley (Christina Ricci), and Natalie Scatorccio (Juliette Lewis) as the adult survivors of a plane crash that stranded a high school girls' soccer team called the Yellowjackets who were traveling from New Jersey to Seattle for an important game. Back in the 1996 timeline, which takes place in the immediate aftermath of the crash, those same characters — played by Sophie Nélisse, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Samantha Hanratty, and Sophie Thatcher, respectively — have to work with their teammates and other passengers to figure out how to survive in the woods, and the...

A couple of weeks ago, Spyglass Media and Paramount Pictures made a surprising casting announcement, revealing that Scott Foley, who played the Ghostface killer in Scream 3, is returning for Scream 7, even though his character was killed off. That was quickly followed by another surprising announcement: Matthew Lillard, who was a Ghostface killer in the original Scream and also appeared to be killed off, will also be appearing in Scream 7. Now, their co-star Mason Gooding has said in an interview that Foley and Lillard are bringing “something special” to the film, and Foley and another co-star Mark Consuelos, took a moment to discuss being set up in the same hotel during an interview on Live with Kelly and Mark. You can watch the Foley / Consuelos clip in the embed above, and Gooding’s quote can be found below.

Fans of the Showtime series Yellowjackets (read our review of season 2 Here) have been patiently waiting to see the bonus episode that was supposed to air sometime between the second and third seasons… but the wait for that is going to be longer than expected, because the decision has been made to hold off on the bonus episode and have Yellowjackets season 3 premiere on February 14th. With that date just a few days away, a clip from the premiere episode has dropped online, and in this clip the character Van (played by Liv Hewson) “retells the story so far,” giving the “previously on Yellowjackets” recap. You can check it out in the embed above.

Showtime has released a sneak peek at the “Yellowjackets” Season 3 premiere that doubles as a refresher on the story so far.
In the clip below, Van recounts the triumphant tale to her fellow survivors during a summer solstice celebration, while Shauna shares her traumatic perspective on the events in isolation.
Created by Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson, “Yellowjackets” is the saga of a team of high school soccer players who become the survivors of a plane crash deep in the remote northern wilderness. The series chronicles their descent from a complicated team to savage clans, while also tracking the lives they’ve attempted to piece back together nearly 25 years later.
In season three, as summer arrives, the Yellowjackets face a fragile victory—the brutal winter that nearly claimed them is finally behind them, but distrust in leadership and tension within the team jeopardize their chances of being rescued. In the present,...

Matthew Lillard is finally coming back to the Scream series in ‘Scream 7’ as the star confirmed with his Instagram post. Fans remember him as Stu Macher, one of the original Ghostface killers from the 1996 film directed by Wes Craven. His return is unexpected, since Stu was last seen being crushed by a heavy Crt television, which seemed to kill him. But in horror movies, death isn’t always final, and now, almost 30 years later, he’s back.
How Stu is returning is still a mystery. Some believe he somehow survived, while others think he could have a twin or even be part of something supernatural. Lillard himself has teased the idea that Stu might still be alive.
Now industry insider Daniel Richtman shed some more details on his return. On his Patreon, Richtman suggests that Matthew Lillard’s character, Stu, isn’t just making a brief appearance in Scream 7,...

Heart Eyes director Josh Ruben may be a horror filmmaker, but nothing could’ve prepared him for the waking nightmare he experienced last month.
On Jan. 7, just weeks before Ruben and his wife Lauren Sick were slated to move into their dream home in Altadena, they watched along in horror as the Eaton Fire headed straight for their new neighborhood in Los Angeles County. While they assumed the worst when their security camera cut to black, Ruben and Sick received confirmation on Jan. 9 that their vacant home was gone. Immediately, friends and collaborators like Mark Duplass, Jordana Brewster and Christopher Landon came to their aid and rallied wider support from the general public, raising nearly $75,000 to get the beloved filmmaking couple back on their feet.
In the process, Ruben also overcame two of the most common fears a person can have: asking for help and accepting it.

“Scream 7” star Mason Gooding says with Kevin Williamson at the helm, who wrote the original 1996 movie-centric slasher, franchise villain Ghostface is “the most brutal he’s been” in the seventh installment.
“It feels like an amplification of what’s came before, and there’s no better indication of that than Kevin Williamson, who wrote the original, coming back now to direct,” Gooding told me Tuesday at the Los Angeles premiere of “Heart Eyes.” “I think that Ghostface is absolutely the most brutal he’s been. Gooding described “Scream 7” as “gross, but in a good way,” highlighting the efforts of the practical effects team.

After nearly three decades, Scream 7 is set to deliver one of the biggest twists in the franchise’s history — Matthew Lillard is returning as Stu Macher. The announcement, revealed by Deadline, has sparked speculation and excitement among horror fans, as the character was believed to have been definitively killed off in the 1996 original.
Lillard’s return marks a full-circle moment for the actor, whose role as the horror-obsessed, unhinged high schooler in Wes Craven’s Scream launched his career. While his character’s demise—via a television dropped on his head—seemed final, the Scream series has never shied away from bending its own rules. Whether through flashbacks, retcons, or unexpected narrative twists, the franchise has found ways to bring back past characters in surprising ways. The question remains: How is Stu still alive? Fans have speculated for years that he could have survived, perhaps resurfacing as a mastermind behind Ghostface killings all along.

Scream 7 is now in production after multiple delays, Matthew Lillard will be reprising his role of Stu – somehow.
A spoiler for the first Scream film lies ahead.
It’s no secret that the next Scream film has been fraught with difficulties, from the firing of Melissa Bererra to Jenna Ortega leaving, followed by director Christopher Landon.
Then there was the uncertainty over franchise stalwart Neve Campbell returning – she is onboard following the resolution of a pay dispute – and finally the return of original screenwriter Kevin Williamson, who is not on writing duties this time around but is instead directing. He has directed just one feature previously, the dark comedy Teaching Mrs Tingle, which was released in 1999. It starred Helen Mirren as a malicious teacher taken hostage by three of her students. It flew under the radar at the time and is well worth tracking down.
