The international distribution company Glass House Distribution has acquired the worldwide rights to “The Private Eye,” a mystery, comedy and romance. The film was written and directed by Jack Cook and stars comedian Matt Rife. Glass House Distribution will represent the movie at the Cannes Film Festival in May with all territories available.
The official description for the film reads, “Private investigator Mort Madison (Matt Rife) has seen his better days. A mysterious woman, Michelle (Clare Grant) hires him to spy on David (Elliot), whom he believed to be her lover. In the detective process Mort himself falls in love with Michelle and decides the only way he can be with her is by eliminating David from the equation. Mort hopes this will entice Michelle to run away with him and live happily ever after only to reveal a mind-blowing twist.”

This premiered last year and arrives on VOD later this month. A Los Angeles film student struggles to graduate while navigating a budding romance & reconnecting with his estranged uncle leading to a renewed uncertainty of his future. "As tensions begin to brew with her protective older brother Bobby and family secrets put his newly established connection with Robin to the test, Travis struggles to hold it all together long enough to figure out his future, as well as his past." Starring Elijah Boothe and Ruby Park, with Chaim Dunbar, Daniel C, Aaron Dominguez, Chris Markle, Bill Miltenberger, and Kris Kil. This film has positive reviews and looks like a solid debut feature about making films and the life of a filmmaker.

"You realize if this doesn't go perfectly, we are all going to jail." Netflix has debuted a trailer for the film Coin Heist, the latest little indie from young filmmaker Emily Hagins out of Austin. We've featured her work before, including her most recent film before this, titled Grow Up Tony Phillips. Coin Heist is indeed about a "coin heist" - four different high school kids decide to team up and figure out a way to break into the U.S. Mint and pay off a big debt by planting flawed coins. The cast includes Alex Saxon, Alexis G. Zall, Sasha Pieterse, Jay Walker, Blanche Baker, David W. Thompson and Elijah Boothe. This looks like it might be fun, and I always like supporting talented young filmmakers like Emily. Give it a look below.
