Over a decade after Disney purchased Star Wars and partially rebooted the franchise, I feel only one property has truly understood Luke Skywalker. The Star Wars franchise initially had one primary continuity, once known as the Expanded Universe (which included the six saga films and most spinoff properties) and currently known as Legends, but April 2014 saw the initiation of a new timeline, which included the original six saga movies, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and most materials going forward. With the franchise reboot came new properties that reinterpreted the Star Wars galaxy, including a divisive new portrayal of Luke Skywalker.
Luke Skywalker is not a difficult character to understand, let alone portray correctly. In the Star Wars original trilogy, Lukes journey from simple farmer to renowned Rebel pilot to Jedi Knight is compelling and complex, resulting in Luke becoming one of cinemas most beloved protagonists. Of course, while the Legends...

Star Wars: Battlefront II gives players a closer look at what happened to the Empire and the galaxy beyond the destruction of the first Death Star, the Battle of Scarif, the Battle of Endor, and more. By following the trajectory of Imperial Commander Iden Versio, leader of the elite Inferno Squad and eventual defector, players learn to understand what it must have been like for someone to grow up in a household completely loyal to the Empire. More than anything, Versios story is one of breaking free from propaganda and undeserved family loyalty shes an incredibly compelling character.
Cosplayer Kamui (@kamuicosplay) clearly agrees. In a video post on X, Kamui shared how they spent 100 hours creating this intricate Star Wars: Battlefront II cosplay; an incredible design that perfectly replicates Versios Inferno Squad uniform and flight suit. The imposing flight helmet boasts the Imperial insignia and the tell-tale Inferno Squad logo.

Jango Fett’s Biggest Bounties in Legends, Video Games, and Canon - Main Image
Jango Fett is arguably the best bounty hunter in Star Wars lore, next to his son Boba Fett. A Mandalorian human male who became the template for the clone army of the Republic during 22 Bby, Jango Fett’s infamous combat skills, and cunning wits made him notorious as a mercenary in Star Wars.
Born on the planet Concorde Dawn, Jango Fett is also known for his iconic armor, flamethrower, dual pistols, jetpack, and calm demeanor. With Aspyr’s upcoming remaster of the classing game Star Wars: Bounty Hunter, let’s take a look back on who made it into Jango Fett’s hitlist in all of Star Wars canon, Legends, and video games.

If hand-drawn animation ever needed a jump start at Disney, now’s the time. Maybe “Once Upon a Studio,” the hybrid short where 2D takes center stage in a multi-character crossover, will provide the first baby step. But even if it’s only a momentary 100th-anniversary legacy booster, it’s a cause for celebration as 543 newly animated characters (mostly hand-drawn) leap out of their photographs in the live-action Roy E. Disney Animation building to roam the halls and gather outside for a group photo.
The short premieres October 15 during ABC’s “The Wonderful World of Disney: Disney’s 100th Anniversary Celebration.” It will not play in front of “Wish” but will have an Oscar-qualifying run at the El Capitan in Hollywood. One of the great treats is watching Mickey stop and pay tribute to Walt’s portrait underscored by 94-year-old legendary composer Richard Sherman play “Feed the Birds” from “Mary...

Heroes like Simba from The Lion King and Elsa from Frozen are symbols of the epic Disney animated reputation, giving audiences well-rounded and thought-provoking main characters to root for. However, these Disney heroes are often known for having quirky and fun-loving sidekicks.

This crafty animal may usually act as a sidekick or a supporting character, but the recognizably cute and cheeky raccoon is always a memorable figure in movies across many genres. From the biscuit-loving Meeko in Pocahontas to the quick-witted Rocket Raccoon in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy films — of which Vol. 3 was recently released — these characters always stand out and enhance the film with an injection of satisfying mischief. Often colloquially referred to as "trash pandas," owing to their appearance and frugal eating habits, their characterizations often reflect this canny, capable, and humorous side. Whether they are verbal — like Everything Everywhere All At Once's Raccacoonie — or not, they are the unforgettable part of any movie, leaving a mark on the protagonist and the viewer alike.

Anyone with even a passing familiarity with Disney knows that the studio excels at creating compelling animal characters. In particular, they are known for giving audiences some of the most beloved dogs in the history of the movies. From Pluto to Goofy, from Dodger to Lady, these canine companions have become beloved icons of popular culture.
What allows them to be so interesting, though, is just how unique and fully formed a character each one of them is, so it is worth using the zodiac to drill down a little deeper to discover the fascinating aspects of their personalities.

"You don't have to be your mother. You get to define you, mama." Film Movement has debuted an official trailer for an indie dramedy titled Queen of Glory, featuring actress Nana Mensah who writes, directs, and stars in this film. It first premiered at the 2021 Tribeca Film Festival last year, and also played at tons of other fests including Melbourne, Reykjavik, Vancouver, Hamptons, London, Warsaw, and San Diego. Queen of Glory is a "tightly-conceived, witty and compassionate love letter to the Bronx" that's at once a view into a tight-knit community, and an intensely relatable drama-comedy for anyone with a family. It looks quite good and especially authentic. Ghanaian-American Sarah is set to abandon her Ivy League doctoral program to follow her married lover across the country, until she must take over running a small Christian bookstore in the Bronx. Nana Mensah stars with Meeko Gattuso, Russell G. Jones, Oberon K.A. Adjepong,...

Tasked with planning a culturally respectful funeral befitting the family matriarch, Sarah is forced to juggle the expectations of her loving, yet demanding family while also navigating the reappearance of her estranged father. Aided by an only-in-New York ensemble of Eastern European neighbors, feisty African aunties and a no-nonsense ex-con co-worker, she faces her new responsibilities while figuring out how to remain true to herself.

We felt pretty confident someone would die at the end of "Euphoria" season two. We weren't sure who it would be - maybe Nate (Jacob Elordi), maybe Fezco (Angus Cloud), or maybe someone totally different. It turns out, it's someone different, and yet not surprising in the slightest. It all comes down to an intense scene in Fez's house that results in a rain shower of bullets.
Who Dies in the "Euphoria" Season 2 Finale?
Earlier in the season, Custer (Tyler Chase) tells Faye (Chloe Cherry) that he's talking to the cops about Mouse's (Meeko) death, which Ashtray (Javon Walton) is responsible for. It's hard to tell at first what Faye might do with this information. Custer is her boyfriend, after all, but Fez has been there for her in a way no one else has. Would she give Fez a heads up that Custer is working with the police to arrest him and Ash,...

Spoiler Alert: If you haven’t watched Season 1 of “Euphoria,” you are about to be spoiled on the whole thing!
Winter formal was in full swing at East Highland, a daydreamer was at an abortion clinic, hearts were broken at the train station, and there was a nearly 15-minute sequence in which no one talked but a gospel choir in maroon sweats sang — such was the finale of Season 1 of HBO’s “Euphoria.” It’s been more than two years since the eighth episode of “Euphoria” aired on Aug. 8, 2019, and though two special episodes dropped during the pandemic before Season 2, it can be hard to recall all of the things— and there were so, so many — that happened in that finale.
The specials gave fans peace of mind that Rue (Zendaya) had not died of an overdose, in spite of her powerful dance sequence suggesting otherwise, and allowed viewers to...

Shot with a budget of £42,000 on the streets of Greenwich Village, this uplifting comedy about two teenage graffiti artists has been wowing festival audiences
Gimme the Loot, says its writer-director Adam Leon, is an "epic". And that is accurate enough if you allow for one or two transgressions. The film pays tribute to an imperial city – New York – rather than an empire or nation state, and its hero and heroine, teenage graffiti writers Malcolm (Ty Hickson) and Sofia (Tashiana Washington), wear baggy T-shirts and travel by subway, not ship. But their quest is a grand one: to tag the giant plastic apple that rises from the ground at Citi Field whenever the Mets hit a home run. Great publicity, and a coup in their ongoing graffiti civil war; Bronx writers putting their stamp on a Queens landmark.
Although Leon's script – full of New York nuance and know-how – pits the two boroughs against each other,...
