Two Camels Escape Enclosure At Ohio’s Cedar Point Amusement Park, No Injuries
Image
Amusement parks usually provide thrills to guests. On Tuesday, two camels at the Cedar Point amusement park in Sandusky, Ohio did their part, escaping their enclosure and romping in the pedestrian area of the petting zoo.

One camel was shown in social media footage jumping a few times close to some of the park guests. Unsure of what the animals might do, some park patrons started climbing into the adjacent animal pens.

“That dude almost died,” an adult man says off-camera in the video. A child delightedly shouts, “The camels are out!”

Tony Clark, a spokesperson for the amusement park, told media outlets that no attendees were hurt during the situation.

“[The camels] decided to take an unplanned stroll just outside their home at The Barnyard, our ‘petting zoo’ area on the Frontier Trail, but were quickly returned,” he said to 3News

On social media, some had fun with the escape.

Mlb to Impose Shortened 2020 Season After Negotiations With Players Fall Apart
In statements Monday night, the Major League Baseball organization and the players’ union announced that negotiations over potential new agreements have ended, and that the league will move forward with a shortened 2020 schedule based on a previous agreement reached in March.

Per that agreement, reached March 26 after the Covid-19 pandemic caused several sectors of the economy, including major sports leagues to shut down, the shortened season will last 60 games. The exact schedule has not been set, but USA Today reports that it is likely to begin in late July. To that end, the league is asking the players union, by no later than 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, to indicate if players can report to camp by July 1, and if they will agree on a league-provided “operating manual which contains the health and safety protocols necessary to give us the best opportunity to conduct and complete our regular season and Postseason.

Reopening Sports: ‘Real Sports’ Bryant Gumbel On “Greed” Fueled Pro Leagues Wanting To Start Up Amidst Covid-19 Realities & Second Wave Worries
Image
Exclusive: “Any quick history lesson about how owners in sports have acted over time, how they’ve interacted with communities and governments and public coffers and everything else will tell you that greed dictates basically whatever they try to do,” Bryant Gumbel bluntly says of the motivation behind leagues like the NFL, NBA, Mlb and the NHL to get their players back in action from the coronavirus lockdown of the past two months.

“I think they view athletes as commodities to get them to an end,” the host of HBO’s Real Sports added.

Never one to play it safe over the 25-seasons of the premium cabler’s Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel, the Emmy winning host tonight will be having a remote roundtable on the re-starting of pro sports in this deadly era of Covid-19 with players’ association bosses DeMaurice Smith of the NFL, Michele Roberts of the NBA,...

Major League Baseball Drops Marijuana From ‘Drug of Abuse’ List
Major League Baseball has removed marijuana from its list of “drugs of abuse” and announced that it will begin testing players for opioids after the league and the Mlb Player’s Association agreed on new changes to the Joint Drug Program on Thursday.

As ESPN noted, marijuana offenses could often lead to a player being hit with a $35,000 fine per violation, but the changes to the policy mean marijuana-related offenses will now be treated the same as alcohol-related offenses. Players who test positive for marijuana will now be subject to...
